****PRAYER CIRCLE SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7, 2009****

Good evening! I have a devotional from Ron Hutchcraft.

The God Who Knows Your Name

I was getting pretty bored with our family fishing vacation in Minnesota. So my dad decided to take little nine-year-old Ronnie to see Paul Bunyan, the legendary giant lumberjack. Actually, it's this huge Paul Bunyan, sitting on a chair with his big ax and Babe the Blue Ox nearby, and this little log cabin at his feet. My dad went over to the ticket booth and came back with my ticket, which I eagerly gave to the ticket taker so I could go in and see big old Paul. As I walked in, I almost became the youngest heart attack victim in Minnesota history. Paul Bunyan's big old voice boomed out across the grounds and said, "Hello, Ronnie." I was blown away! How could I know that this was all a conspiracy? The ticket booth guy gets the kid's name, relays it to the little man with a microphone in Paul's log cabin, who then uses that information to welcome some unsuspecting little guy like me. All I knew was that big guy knew my name!

The day this God surprised a Jewish tax collector called Zacchaeus is the subject of our word for today from the Word of God in Luke 19, beginning with verse 1. "Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man (I love this guy!) he could not, because of the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see Him...When Jesus reached the spot, He looked up and said to him, 'Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.' So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly."

OK, surprise #1: Jesus knows me. Not only can He call you by name, but He knows exactly where you are, no matter how concealed you might think you are. He knows every dream, every fear, every sin, every battle, and every wound. And knowing all He knows, He wants to be with you forever!

Surprise #2: Jesus wants to go with you into your world. Notice, Jesus said, "Zacchaeus I want to go into your world." Because of his greed and cheating, people despised this man. But Jesus scandalizes the town by picking Zacchaeus' place as the place He would go. Jesus stands ready today, upon your invitation, to go with you into your personal world, no matter how broken or how shameful, and He will meet you there, not after you've cleaned yourself up.

Surprise #3: Jesus makes you what you never dreamed you could be. Zacchaeus ends up a new person, giving half of what he has to the poor and repaying four times whatever he has stolen from people. He's a really big man for the first time in his life. When you welcome Jesus into your life, just as you are, He will make you into a man or woman you never thought possible. He died on the cross to forgive every sin of your life and to offer you the power to become a brand new person inside. But just like Zacchaeus, it starts only when you "welcome Him gladly."

Maybe you've never really thrown open your life to Jesus even though you may have been around Him for a long, long time. He's waiting to move into your life upon your invitation. In a way, He may be (deep in your heart) calling your name, even as you're listening right now. Would you grab Him while He's in town? Tell Him, "Jesus, from this day forward, I'm pinning all my hopes on You. I am Yours." If you want to be sure you belong to Him; if you'd like to know some of the things the Bible says about beginning a relationship with Him, let me direct you to our website. It's YoursForLife.net. He's calling your name. Don't miss Him.

Sisters, I've read the requests, and I'm praying. I'm worn out, and too tired to comment. I have noted them tho.

Remember to pray for our pastors and others ministering in our churches this week-end, that they will boldly proclaim the authority of God's word without apology; that we will come with hearts prepared and ears to hear; that there will be life changing and everlasting fruit; and above all, that God will be glorified.

    Deb,

    This message really blessed me!

What a personal Heavenly Father we have!

He knows our name, and it reminded me that He also knows the number

of hair on our head! (Amazing!)

Lately I have been thinking of the Names of God!

I love to read His Names. They help me understand God's

Character and Nature in a more personal way.

Here are some of His Names:

    The Name's of God.

    Elohim--mighty God awesome God
    (fear of God=reverential awe.)
El Elyon--God most high who has delivered.
El Roi--- God who sees (all)
    El Shaddai--El-diety,might and power
    Shaddai-the all sufficient one.
    Adonai--Lord,Master,pourer forth,provider.
Jehovah--LORD,the only being who is self existant
    Jehovah-jireh--The Lord who will see
    and provide.
    Jehovah-rapha--The Lord who heals
    Jehovah-nissi--The Lord my banner.
(banner=standard, flag that identifies an army and goes before)
    Jehovah-mekoddishkem--the Lord sanctifies me.
    Jehovah-Shalom--the Lord is peace
    Jehovah-Sabaoth--the Lord of hosts.
    Jehovah-raah--the Lord my Shepherd
    Jehovah-tsidkenu--the Lord is our
    righteousness
    Jehovah-Shammah--the Lord is there
Qanna--The Lord is Jealous of His own.
(I also have read the prayers and I will pray!)
    Good Night all!
Isn't it exciting, one day well see our Savior face to face!
(I look forward to seeing my Prayer Circle Family one day too!)
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good:
because his mercy endureth for ever.
    Psalm 118:1

     Hi All!

It rained quite a bit today, with more expected especially tomorrow, so I guess the summer is especially over now.

Continuing to pray for all who have suffered loss with the tragedy at Ft. Hood.

Praying also for continued recovery for both Tom and Derek.

I talked to my sister today, and they are wanting to give up fear regarding the layoff to God and wait for His provision.

God bless each of you dear ones!   (((PC)))

I fell asleep in my chair...

Great lesson, Deb!  I'm so glad that Jesus saw what I was and loved me anyway.   And even now, when I still mess up, He's there to forgive.  :)  What a Savior!

Please pray for a lady to call me. Might sound weird to some people. BUT! I know a family who is going through some very hard things medically and financially.  There are some people that want to bless them with some things they need. I have ran into the lady and her family different times. I told her 2 nights ago someone wanted to bless her. But I didn't get her  phone number. I gave her mine yesterday and told her there are even more people who want to bless her and her family. She tucked in my phone number in her pocket and walked away. I want her to call me before the end of the week. Because of who all would really like to bless her and her family with different things before some hardship of somethings they are facing around and on Thanksgiving.

It's a beautiful morning here in Wisconsin!  So beautiful that DH is getting ready to go golfing with friends.  That doesn't happen very often in November!

CJ- Thank you for that comprehensive list of names.  It is a reminder that God is everything to us.

Praying for God's healing on those who are ill or recovering from illness.  Also asking the Lord to keep everyone safe through all of their varied activities this weekend.  Trust in Him!

I've got a busy day ahead filled with errands and doing some things around the house.  I hope your day is filled with blessings!

    Good morning!

Cookjoy, thanks for the list of God's names. One that blesses me is El Roi, the God who sees. I love that He looks down and sees what I am going through. He also sees the shameful things I do and think in secret...Embarrassed. That's something to remember.

Praying for those who need God's healing touch. For those who need comfort. For those who need provision, for those with employment issues.

May God bless your day today. Deb

Good morning from sunny, windy Ohio!

Kaye, in yesterday's post you gave a youtube address to the song "He Knows My Name": what a comforting song, and it goes along so well with our lessons:)

Praying that your BIL is brought an opportunity during this time that turns out to be better than the job he had before.

Mari, I'm so happy to hear Derek is homeBig Smile

Fay, praying for your GD, not only for her ankle to heal quickly, but also for her to avoid any more mishaps and illnesses for awhile.  It sounds like she's already had enough for a lifetime!

Prayers for your daughter too.  What a miserable way to start out her new job:(

Enjoy, praying the Holy Spirit will move that lady to call you today.

Waving to Linda, CookJoy, Deb, Pat, Patty, Connie, and everyone else!

Have a beautiful day.  Enjoy the blessings that Lord has bestowed upon us!

    Good Morning Sisters!

I used to sing "He knows my Name" at church. Lovely song.

Enjoy, prayers that the lady will call you so that she can be helped.

Prayers against sickmess and sadness and pain!

Happy that MAri's big boy is home again, home agian, jiggedy-jig!

My family and I are going to be in a movie today. IT's by Rob Stennet, who has written a few books and was a screenwriter and works at our church. The scene we will do is people in purgatory playing broken board games. It sounds fun, but you know what? The devil is trying to make me not want to do it! I really feel that I am under spiritual attack these days. The depression juts SITS on me.

DS is having a small yard sale today with the stuff DH and I took out of the kitchen, as we sloooowwwwwlllllly get it fixed up. Thanksgiving will be here this year. joy, joy.

    Love YOU SISTERS!!
