    taffy apple coffee cake

Does anyone have a recipe for a taffy apple coffee cake? I have heard of one that was out of this world.. I have tried several, however all the ones that I have found have pieces of toffee added. I was thinking more along the lines of one that by adding certain ingredients it would give you that taffy taste. Like sweetened condensed milk.
I have a recipe for one that is awesome but it's not a coffee cake,it's a sheet cake. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Welcome to the BB.
Not sure if this fits your description, but since it has no frosting, I think it could pass for Coffee Cake. You could make the topping more taffy or caramel-like by cooking it for a couple minutes to thicken it a little.
    Anyway, it's delicious.

    Apple Dumpling Cake

    1 1/2 cups oil
    3 eggs
    2 cups sugar
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    3 cups flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 cups diced apples (peel if you wish, but not necessary)
    1 cup chopped nuts

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In large bowl, mix oil, eggs, sugar and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and mix well.
    Stir in apples and nuts.
    Spread in greased 9x13-inch pan.
    Bake approximately 1 hour.
Pour topping over hot cake immediately after removing from oven.

    TOPPING:
    1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk (I use evaporated)
    1/2 cup butter

Combine in saucepan. Heat until butter is melted and brown sugar is dissolved. Pour over hot cake.
Topping will soak into the cake, making it very moist.

    This is from recipelink.com.

    Taffy Apple Cake

1 box yellow cake mix (no pudding)
5 apples, sliced as for a pie
    1 cup pecans, chopped
    1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine

Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan. Spread 2 cups of dry cake mix in pan. Add the apples; cover with remaining cake mix. Sprinkle on nuts; drizzle milk over the top. Dot mixture with butter. Bake at 325 degrees F for 40 to 50 minutes.

    Serve with ice cream.

Here's a recipe to make taffy. Why don't you make your favorite coffee cake, and layer apples and this taffy in the middle of the coffee cake.

    Taffy

    8 tablespoons butter
    1/2 cup light corn syrup
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    1 can sweetened condensed milk

Combine butter, corn syrup, and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stir in the condensed milk and mix well.

Here is one I found in my recipe files.

    1 1/3 c. water
    1/3 c. margarine, softened
    4 eggs
    3/4 c. graham cracker crumbs
    1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    2 1/2 c. chopped pared apples,
    approximately 3 apples
    3/4 c. packed brown sugar

Mix cake mix, water, margarine, eggs, graham cracker crumbs and cinnamon in a large bowl. Beat to mix well. Fold in chopped apples. Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Sprinkle brown sugar over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until inserted pick comes out clean.
