    appetizer menu

Hi, I need some help selecting an appetizer menu for my daughter's birthday party. I am overwhelmed by all of the great recipes and possibilities for appetizer combinations. There will be about 15 adults and five toddlers at the party (with a Wiggles theme, although not essential that the food fits this theme). We are having cake and ice cream and appetizers. I would ideally like three to five appetizers, perhaps some that could be done a day or two before(or frozen) and served hot and/or cold. Thanks for your help.

Jell-0 jigglers would be good for the children and they wiggle to stay in the theme of things.

Dustin's Chicken Spiedini [As Seen On Paula's Home Cooking]

3 large boneless chicken breasts, cut into strips
6 ounces Asiago cheese (or any good Italian cheese), cut into 3 (2-inch) cubes
    1/2 cup high-quality olive oil
    2 cups Italian bread crumbs
    4 dried bay leaves
1 large white onion, sliced thickly lengthwise

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Spray a baking pan lightly with cooking spray. Wrap each chicken strips around each cheese cube and secure with a toothpick. Dip chicken in olive oil and then roll in bread crumbs. Place chicken in the baking pan. Top with bay leaves and sliced onions. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until chicken is fully cooked through, and cheese has melted, and bread crumbs are golden brown. Serve.

Thanks for all the great tips! I have looked at the bb and there are so many amazing choices...but I just can't decide how to put them together. Do I do Jello wigglers with chicken wings or a fruit tray with dip?
    Thank you again.

This is one of my favorite dips! I make it often and there's never a drop left. It's from Pampered Chef, so I hope it's the same one you had. It's an oldie, but a goodie :)

8oz soft cream cheese, mixed with a couple minced garlic cloves and 1 t. Italian seasoning.

Combine 1/2 C. freshly grated parmesan and 3/4 C. freshly grated mozz.

Layer the cream cheese mix over bottom of 8" round crockery pan. Top with half the cheese mix.

Pour 8oz can pizza sauce over cheese. Top with remaining cheese mix.

Garnish with chopped green pepper and chopped green onion if desired.

Bake at 350° for 12-18 minutes. Serve with cut up french bread to dip.
