    Brownies

At least 15 years ago I had a cookbook from Hershey Chocolate that you got in the mail after sending in proofs of purchase. In this cook book there was this recipe for brownies that included cocoa, syrup and chocolate chips. I have lost the cookbook and was wondering if anyone has the recipe. Thanks for your help.

    RE: Brownies

Try going to hershey.com. I get a newsletter from them every month and they have tons of recipes.

I know what it's like to loose a recipe that you love. I think this may be the one you're looking for. Enjoy!

    Chocolate Syrup Brownies
    1 egg
1 cup packed light brown sugar
    3/4 cup Hershey's Syrup
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    Dash salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter (do not use margarine), melted
3/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Heat oven to 350F. Grease 9" square baking pan. In small mixing bowl, beat egg lightly. Add brown sugar and syrup; beat until well blended. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to egg mixture, beating until blended. Stir in butter and nuts. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 35-40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into squares.
