    Forman Grill

If anyone has the Forman Grill with removeable cooking plates, how do you like it? I have the small one (the first one to hit the market) and I rarely use it because it's a hassle to clean. I have limited countertop space and I'm wondering if it's worth the investment of space and money.

I have the grill with the removable plates. And I love the grill but honestly, I think I've removed the plates once. To me it's just as easy to clean them while on the grill, and still warm. I found that if I put them in the dishwasher with the tiniest bit of grease on them, that grease just gets baked on.

Jenny, I don't have to clean mine, I just cook my food between aluminum foil. Sprayed with non-stick spray.

I have it, use it, put the plates in dishwasher, and love it. Sooo much easier than juggling the other one over sink! I just rinse and sponge off the plates before putting them in the dishwasher.

I have one of he old ones with no removable plates and really have had no trouble cleaning it, but don't use is all that much. When I do, I just leave the dishcloth in it, close the lid and when I go back to it, it just cleans off fine.

I have one without removeable plates and use it often. When I take the meat off the grill and turn it off, I leave the lid open so the bits left of the grill won't continue to cook and burn.

When I start cleaning up after eating, I wet two or three paper towels, place them on the bottom plate, close the lid and turn it on for about a minute then turn it off. After I finish the rest of the dishes, I open it up and just wipe the plates. The water and heat sort of steams it clean.

It's kind of like putting a cup of water in the microwave and letting it boil for 5 minutes. Leave the door closed for another 5 minutes, then open and wipe it clean. Easy as pie!

I have the removeable plates and love it. Easy to add to a sink of soapy hot water or into the dishwasher. Much better than the old way.
