Just a quick Hi Iam still running around like a chicken with my head cut off lol. Ihave been reading trying to keep up on everyones activities . Greenback hope you are feeling better.

Now Bells palsy I know something about. I had it a number of years agio and still have some residual effects but not to noticeable by other people unless I am real tired. I was told it can recur personally Ido not want it again. They would not treat mine with steroids because of my diabetes so I had to get better the slow way.

Well need to go and make a platter of dill pickles wrapped in ham and cream cheese. I have made them so much this week iam becoming an expert. Everyone likes them and a lot easier than a lot of treats I have taken in other years. I feel this is my year to take it easy.

I'm waiting for a sheet of cookies to bake. I mixed up 3 large bowls of dough this morning, and put them in the fridge, in order to rest my back. Been reading for a couple of hours, now back to baking them. Made P.B., lemon, and ginger. That should take care of DH for a couple of days. I also baked four loaves of MJ's Cherry bread.

Stylist, thought you were only cutting hair today, not all that other stuff. Mine is highlighted naturally! Smile

Wanda, calm down, they'll get there when they get there. You'll have lots of time to visit tomorrow.

Pat, still foggy here too, and 19*.  Our Youth group (and any others who care to join in) went caroling last evening around some of the "mature" members and at the Nursing Home.  I'm surprised they'd stop at a "young" persons home! Big Smile That will be nice to hear.

Suzi, you folks sure do eat out a lot. Do you ever miss one day?

Apple, I have 15 loaves of various breads in the freezer. Will give one to our library asst., as she is so good to us. None for the librarian, tho'. She can't do anything for you. Sad

Can smell the cookies. Time to put another sheet in the oven........

Good afternoon. It was a long and trying day for me. I didn't think it would ever end. When I got home it was so nice to see a happy wagging tail after all the bickering and back talking. We found out today that we may be getting another student after the first of the year. Oh God, help us.

Just got done cleaning up the mess from making marshmallows. Not sure I will do them again. Will wait and see if they really are worth the effort and mess. Tomorrow will tell.

There are two loads of laundry going, one in the dryer and one in the washer. One more load to do tomorrow.

This morning it was so pretty seeing the trees all frosty white. What fell from them was so fluffy too.

This Stupid BB, as Lily calls it, was too slow this morning to post and it's not a whole lot faster now. It really stinks. Glad that everyone can at least get here now though. just not as much fun when you have to wait and wait. I see evening chat is shorter now too.

Nancy, so glad that Russel is doing well. YOu take care of yourself too.

Jane, don't try and do or go too much until you get your strength back.

Hope all went well for Sharon today.

Suzi, that sounds like one heck of a big burger!!!! Glad you enjoyed it so much. I'll bet the prices have changed though.

Pat, I put my baking in the garage if I don't have room in the other room. Most times all go in there. Works great.

Stylist, I see you still have your scissor getting a work out.

Prayers and hugs for all my grannie friends.

SmileI have been baking also today, I baked snickerdoodles and a cookie recipe that has peanut butter, oatmeal and chocolate chips in it. I just finished cooking supper; broiled steak, noodles and steamed vegies. DH is not home yet, when he does walk through the door he will be ready to eat. I finished a book today A Christmas Secret by Anne Perry, really good. I plan on baking 2 more kinds of cookies tomorrow. We are having perfect weather, about 40 at night and in the upper 60's during the afternoon, mostly clear skies. This weekend it will be cold again, maybe wet weather again. Last night DH and I ate at The Olive Garden, I ate chicken marsala it was delicious, also made room for dessert, apple pan cinnamon cake, also delicious. My DH also had bells palsy several years ago, it scared him, but no lasting affects. Good to hear from waitress, been a long time. I will try to chat later.

Well I just dropped in to read emails and thought I should check and see what the Grannies are up to.  See there is more baking going on. Maybe we  should have a party one night soon. Gee, I would have to get busy and bake something as I haven't made any snack foods or cookies etc.

Mamma---not such a big burger for lunch. Steakburgers are flattened out real thin and have less meat in them than some. Two just about equal 1 of someone elses burgers. That is why I order a double. Big Smile    You are right the prices have gone up a lot since the mid 50s.

Lily---maybe we do eat out a lot. But not every day.  But then all the years that the kids were home we never went out anywhere. Not even for special occasions. Couldn't afford it!  Now we can so we do.  It is usually DH's idea and he is in charge of the money.  He feels I served my time in the kitchen.  All of your breads will come in handy to feed your DH. Hope he enjoys your cookies also.  They sound yummy!

Well better go and put away the canned goods. Had a nice nap and DH doesn't want any supper tonight as he ate big at lunch.  Lucky me!     BBL

    Re: Grannie Neighborhood - 12/19/07

I am feeling better tonight-but still tired, and I had a nice nap thisafternoon too! Didn't bake any cookies, here. It's beginning to look like there won't be any-unless I get some together this weekend. MJ my DS loves those pickle wraps - we like them with dried beef. I did go get my hair cut, since I had an appointment scheduled for after work. I spent some time doing bookwork on the computer for Thrivent this afternoon, so it's been a pretty low keyed day for me.

Suzi, you just keep going out when ever you can - It's not all about eating, you know-It's a social event much of the time too. You sure did pay your dues in the kitchen raising your kids! Enjoy your time out.

Pat, enjoy the carols tonight - Our church usually just go's to those that don't get out a lot, or maybe have lost someone recently.  I'm sure you have a little extra pull, with all the time you  so lovingly give to your church kitchen!

I'm sure there's lots more that I was going to comment on, but now I can't remember it, so will just go back to being a couch potato.

    Hi Grannies ....

Another day that flew by and seems like after work I'm chasing my tail. Baked cookies tonight ... again!  DH is my QC person and I think he is getting stuffed. Must be on a gingerbread kick b/c I just finished baking fresh ginger cookies and then dipped just about 1/4 inch of the edge in melted white chocolate. Sounds sweet but they are yummy. I think the fresh grated ginger makes a difference but who else will  know? Tomorrow I will make miniature cheesecake tarts to bring along with what else but the Starbuck's gingerbread cake to school. Will leave the cookies for Christmas.

I've had the ham/pickle appetizers and they are addictive. Easy enough to make and everybody seems to like them.

Jane ... Glad you are feeling better. Hope you continue that way over the holidays.

Suzi ... I say go for it! Doesn't it seem so good to have the food cooked for you now rather than cooking all those years for the family.  Sit back and enjoy every morsel!

Mamma ... Just what you need, another new student. Sad Let's hope somebody's mind changes and he doesn't come.

Haven't read all the posts but saying Hi to everyone else. Just can't type anymore b/c that's all I did at work today and now after being in the kitchen half the night, I am ready to call it a day. Needed to say hello and hope you all have a good evening and sleep well tonight. Left Hug's to all.

I bet it comes up every time. OK, now I really need help to get rid of that but may have to wait until the morning. Guess I just won't post until I can get rid of it.  DUH!!
