Ever created your own candy ??? And others really liked it????

I was wanting to do something new and exciting this year. But the same old cookies and such were just a drag. So I created my own candy.

It's funny that you mention creating your own candy. I made pecan pie the other day and had leftover scraps of dough. I thought what could I do different with this. I rolled out the dough and covered it with butter cinnamon and sugar. Then I added dates and nuts. I rolled it up as best as I could and cut it into slices. Then I put it in the oven and baked it till I thought the crust was done. My husband thought they were good. I tried them myself and they were okay but I thought they needed a little more flavor. So next time I am going to try adding some flavorings and spices.

Well, we never think our own cooking or baking is as good as others do.  You have a great idea and I bet your husband was right that they were good....

Its called Mrs. Norris' 16 Layer Candy.  MM MMM MMMMM MMM  MMMM.

It is just basicly two packages of almond bark....white and chocolate, broken into fourths and set aside.

THEN GET SEVERAL KINDS OF BARK WORTHY CANDY , NUTS, PRETZELS ETC.

IF NEEDED BREAK THE CANDY, NUTS, PRETZELS DOWN TO SMALL PIECES.

    CANDY SUGGESTIONS

    1. MIMI M&MS

2.ANDES BAKING BITS MINT OR PEPPERMINT

    3.ANY KIND OF BAKING CHIPS

    4.CHOCOLATE COVERED RAISINS OR PEANUTS

    5. CRYSTAL CANDY...BROKEN DOWN

    6. REESES PIECES

    7.MINI PRETZELS

    8. HONEY ROASTED PEANUTS

9.ANYTHING ELSE YOU THINK WOULD BE GOOD IN BARK

Then melt each fourth of bark and pour in to a waxed paper lined loaf pan. Sprinkle one of the selected candies over the melted bark layer. don't add too much candy as the bark layers wont cling together. Alternate the chocolate and white bark and add different layers of candy between each . Chill after each layer of bark is spread and sprinkled with candy. Alternate sweet layers with salty layers.

    layered as follows

    chocolate bark

    pretzels

    white bark

    crushed crystal candy

    chocolate bark

    honey roasted peanuts

    white bark

    peppermint andes baking bits

    chocolate bark

    pretzles

    white bark

    crushed crystal candy

    chocolate bark

    honey roasted peanuts

    white bark

    colored jimmies or non perils
