Hi...Im new too!

Hi there!  My name is Maggie.  I live in Minneapolis MN.  I recently moved back to Minnesota from Dallas TX.  I have been getting the Taste of Home cook books for years & LOVE them!!!  I am hoping to meet some new friends here, near or far!  I have 2 children, Michael who will be 30 in March & Melissa who will be 28 in February.  Melissa has my only grandbaby, Kyla who is now 3.  They all live in Texas so I am missing them all very much this Holiday season.  Especially my Angel, Kyla! 

I really enjoy trying out new recipes, reading & beading.  My best friends & I get together often for an evening of wining & dining & beading.  It is much fun & laughs.  I also LOVE to read. I have a book with me at all times!  I enjoy reading fiction detective/murder books as well as books from Oprahs Book Club, family/relationships, etc.

I am proud to say I am a 3 year breast cancer survivor!  I quit smoking about 6 months ago and am walking more.  I am in my early 50's and made the decision that it was time to do things for myself so I moved back to Minnesota to be with 4 very special friends/Angels who have been with me through thick & thin and everything in between.  

I hope to gain some very good friendships here!

In the meantime, I am Laurie from Ohio.  I too am in my early 50's.  I have 1 daughter and 2 stepsons ages 29,26,26.  I have 6 grandchildren 8,7,6,5,4,2.  I was born and raised in Upstate NY and have lived in Southeastern Ohio for 23 years.  I enjoy reading, sudoku, rag quilting and vegetable gardening and spending time with my grandchilren.  I am a housewife and love cooking.  I have found many great recipes and many great friends here.

Hi Maggie!  Waving a friendly welcome from Arkansas!  I have family in Dallas, too!  I love this site and especially the secret sisses!  They are a wonderful of friends, another family to support you and love you and lift you up at any time!  They've been there through thick and thin.  I feel like I can't live without them!!!
