This recipe is from Leat, off this board.

    Biscuts and Sausage Gravy

This has become a Sunday morning tradition at our house.

    Basic Biscuts

    3 teaspoons sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup shortening
    1 egg
    2/3 cup milk
    1 tablespoon honey

In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles course crumbs. Combine egg, milk and honey;stir into flour mixture just until combined. Turn onto a floured surface, knead 8-10 times. roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with floured cutter. place 1 inch apart on UNgreased baking sheet. Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes.

    Sausage Gravy

    1/3-1/2 lb sausage
    1/4 cup butter
    1/4 cup flour
    2 cups milk

In a medium skillet, brown 1/3-1/2 pound breakfast sausage. Remove to bowl. In same skillet, melt 1/4 cup butter (half stick). Stir in 1/4 cup flour. Stir in 2 cups milk. Gently stir over medium heat until smooth and thickened. Stir in reserved sausage.

You just HAVE to visit this website. It is fantastic with step by step directions with a photo with each step. The pioneer woman is also very humorous. I used this very recipe yesterday as I taught my dd how to make biscuits and gravy. Delish!
