Prayers needed please !

Two weeks before Christmas we found out my cousin age 61 who I'am very close to has Lung Cancer and it is also in the Lymph Nodes.  It is a stage 3 and he will be starting Chemo/Rad in 2 more weeks.  His wife told us the Dr's said that the chances of recovery are 20%. I'am so upset about this. 

   My dad was 57 with this and he suffered so much with the Chemo.  I'am so hopeing that they have come along way with this drug makeing them so ill.  Yes,  they both smoked heavily.

I am so sorry to hear this...yes I will say a prayer for all!  Chemo can be so harsh at times....I will pray for the best for her.

Cassie, I will be praying for him. We're going thru this with DH's sister. It stinks big time, doesn't it?

So sorry, We just found out on Dec. 28th that my dad has cancer in his Lymph Nodes. I don't know what stage his in. He had his first treatment yesterday.  The Doc. said this could give him a coulpe years. He is 82. I hope it was the right thing to do. They live in Indiana and I live in Ohio. I do have  a DS and 2 DB'S to help mom. Sorry to use your post for my use. I'll say Prayer for your uncle along with mine for my dad.

My cousin suffered terribly from the Chemo, but that has been a few years ago.

Cassie, I'm very sorry to hear that your family has to go thru this. I just finished my chemo treatments and I can tell you that they have come a long way in the treatments. There are a number of anti-nausea meds out there that work wonders and there are so many different chemo drugs. It surely isn't a walk in the park but it's not as bad as it used to be years ago. Everyone reacts differently to the drugs, some are able to work straight thru the treatments. I wish your family the best of luck and you have my prayers. There are a number of message boards out there that are related to cancer, that's where I found a lot of help, it's such a help to talk with people who have gone thru or going thru the same thing.

  I'am also so sorry to hear about your dad.  Gee,  if the Chemo/Rad could give my cousin a couple more years this would be wonderful.  But they did find more than one spot on his lungs.

Thank God,  I quit smoking when I did 34 years ago.  I also lost my mom to Emphsazema. Her and my dad smoked almost  ( 3 ) packs aday !!!!! of Camels.

I'm sure sorry to her your sad news!  My goodness you have so  much on your plate right now...no wonder I have missed you being here!

Sending all of you prayers at this extremely difficult time in all of your lives.  Keep us posted!  It's so scary as more and more and more people I know are getting cancer and at earlyer ages.

I sorry about your cousin Cassie.  Lung cancer is horrible as is all cancer.  I hope he doesn't have to suffer.
