Sierra Nevada Forecast - 8 Feet!! of snow in next storm

They are expecting 70 plus MPH winds starting tomorrow with much rain here in the SJ Valley. Much rain and this is going to continue through the week end!!  We are certainly going to "batten down the hatches". Renee, Hope you fair well in the foothills. We need the snow but not the wind and rain.  Suzanne

Well I just came in from outside and the sky is something to see.... Black clouds and white puffy clouds everywhere.... and they are moving fast too. Just a little wind so far..... I really hope everyone stays safe... Hot Coco and a nice warm fire is what the Dr would order.... I just hope it will wait until I get home... 

How you guys doin?  we are getting wind in the Cascades again today and it is raining at 1000 ft...ugh!

Well here in Sacramento it feels like "punishment".. the wind is pushing cars to the side and turning trucks over to their sides.  Wind is very, very strong and in the news this morning they're saying the Sierras could get 10 feet of snow ,, which is what the Ski places have been praying for.  it should start to die down by late this afternoon.. I can handle rain,  but strong  winds are just too much..

I am only here for a few but it is something.  I woke up during the night because I seriously thought a plane was coming down on our house.  The noise from the wind is unlike any I have heard in SOME time.  I have had to go outside a few times and secure things, one being a trailer that was blowing down the street.

On a lighter note I let our Golden out to do his business and he just stood there looking over his shoulder every couple seconds.  I don't think he knew rain could come in sideways like that.

The only thing I am concerned about is DH.  He has to drive for work and the wind is something else.  Already blew one of his friends off the road while working.  And of course the head corporate guys in their offices say "Keep going."

 Mom is without power and has been for much of the early morning.  So far ours is still on.  I don't mind the storm it is just the stinkin wind that irritates me.

So that is it for now, hope everyone else is OK.

And I hipe everyone in CA turns on their fans and blows that snow to the north east so we can get some of it. It is hard to believe but right here in sw North Dakota it is 52 degrees ABOVE with the most beautiful sunny sky. Alll together we have had no more than 4" of snow in 3 snow falls .and need moisture desperately so please, huff and puff and blow that snow towards us. THANK you.
