Okay ladies anyone out there that loves fried chicken this is the best one I have ever had so far. We had family over last night for dinner and I pulled the chicken out of the oven and I tell you it looked like fried chicken, it was beautiful.

      Food Guys Oven Fried Chicken

    1-3lb cut up frying chicken

    1/4c vegetable oil

    1/4c margarine (1/2 stick)

    1 heaping cup flour

    1tsp paprika

    1/2tsp salt

    1/2tsp seasoned salt

    black pepper to taste

    1/2tsp garlic powder

Wash chicken, pat dry with paper towel.(my wife soaks the chicken in salt water for about 15-20 minutes)

I used a large bowl and 1tsp of salt.

Place oil and margarine in shallow baking pan and set in the oven to heat and melt.

Combine the flour and seasonings, roll the chicken in the flour mixture.

Remove hot pan from the oven and arrange the chicken in the pan skin side down, do not crowd.

Place in the oven and bake for 30 minutes, turn chicken so that the skin side is up and continue baking for 20 to 30 minutes more, until nicely browned and juices run clear.

Remove onto a platter and let cool at least 10 minutes.

I must say this is the best...did I say that already?? Well I am saying it again this is the best oven fried chicken I have ever had..

My Wife's Oven Fried Chicken with Country Gravy

    Posted by: foodguy

1-3lb. cut up frying chicken (8 pieces)
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
    1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine
    1 heaping cup flour
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
    Black pepper to taste
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Wash chicken, and pat dry with paper towel. (My wife soaks the washed chicken in salt water for 15 20 minutes).
    Preheat oven to 425.

Place vegetable oil and margarine in shallow baking pan, and set in oven to heat and melt.

Combine flour and seasonings. Roll chicken pieces in flour mixture.
Remove hot pan from oven and arrange chicken pieces on it, skin side down, do not crowd.

Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes. Turn chicken so that skin side is up and continue baking-20-30 minutes until nicely browned and juices run clear.
Remove to a platter and keep warm (at least 10 minutes).

    Country Gravy:

Scrape baking pan and place 3 Tablespoons of the accumulated cooking fat and browned bits into a sauce pan. Stir in 3 Tablespoons flour and cook 1-2 minutes until well combined.

Stir in 2 cups milk and continue cooking and whisking until gravy boils and thickens. Cook about one minute. Season with salt and pepper if necessary.

She always serves this with mashed potatoes and green beans.

LOL we were all posting together.

I actually lightly season the chicken too, in addition to the flour.

If you'd like another culinary treat, try food guys cheeseburger roll. It is fantastic!! We dipped out slices in mustard and ketchup, was really hearty and good.

Hi Diana!   I see that you've got the recipe already, but wanted to give you a tip on the search:

If you just type something in the search box and click search, it only gives you results from the magazines, nothing from the BB.

If you type in the search box (I put foodguy fried chicken), then click COMMUNITY, then search, it will give you recipes from the BB.

    Hope this helps!
