    Re: crescent rolls appetizer??

I love these!!  I make them often.  We just love them. Hope this helps.  :0)

    Creamy Bacon Bites

8 oz. cream cheese (if this isn't used for breakfast I like to use chive and onion)
    bacon cooked, drained, and crumbled
    8 oz. refrigerated crescent rolls

Preheat oven to 350. Combine cheese and bacon. Separate crescent roll dough into 2 rectangles, press seams and perforations together with fingers to seal.
Spread cream cheese mixture onto rectangles, roll up, starting with longest sides.
Press seams together to seal, cut each roll into 16 slices, place cut side down on grease baking sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Hint-I usually use more bacon than this. I use a 1 lb package of field's thick slice bacon. :0)

Here are 2 that I had saved. I haven't tried them yet.

    Can't Be Beat Spring Rolls

    2 T oil
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 c carrots, juilenne
    1 c cabbage, thinly sliced
    1 c canned crab
    1/2 t salt
1 4 oz. can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1 egg, beaten for egg wash

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Add oil in small skillet and saute garlic and carrots over med. heat for 2 mins. Add cabbage, crab and salt. Stir occasionally for 5 mins. and remove from heat.

Unroll crescen rolls into 2" rectangles. Place 1/4 of crab mixture in center of each rectangle. Pinch the long edges and seal to form a roll. Place seam side down on ungreased baking sheet. Brush with egg and bake for 12 - 17 mins., or until golden brown.

Cut each roll into 4 slices and serve warm.

    Veggie Pizza

2 8 oz. cans of refrigerator crescent rolls
2 8 oz. pkgs. cream cheese, softened
    2/3 c mayonnaise
    1 tsp. dill weed
    1 tsp. minced onion
    1-2 cups grated cheddar cheese
Approx. 3 cups of assorted fresh veggies finely chopped (veggies that work
well are broccoli, cauliflower, carrots). Optional: mushrooms, black olives

Press crescent rolls in bottom of greased 10"x15" pan & bake at 400 for 10
    minutes.
    Cool.

Beat cream cheese until smooth. Stir in mayo, dill weed & onion. Blend
until smooth. Spread evenly on cooled crust.

Cover with veggies, etc. pressing slightly into cream cheese layer.
    Refrigerate &
    cut in squares.

Mozarella Wedges from Feb 2005 Quick Cooking

    1 tube of crescent rolls
    1 Tbsp butter, melted
1/4 to 1/2 tsp garlic powder'
2 cups (8 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese

Separate crescent dough into eight triangles. Place on a greased 12 inch round pizza pan with points toward the center. Press dough onto the bottom and up the sides of pan and seal perforations. Brush with butter. Sprinkle with garlic powder and cheese.
Bake at 375 for 15 to 17 min or until crust is golden brown and cheese is lightly browned. Cut into wedges. Yield : 8 servings

    Star's notes:
I sprinkled the crust with some Italian seasoning after the garlic powder and used both mozzarella and cheddar cheese...it tastes like a sauceless pizza...very good, I could have eaten the entire pan. Greased it with Crisco before putting the dough in. Had a little trouble getting that last dough wedge to fit in since they are not perfect triangles, so just moved it around and pressed it all down until it all fit in the pan.
Baked them at 350 instead of 375 because, well,..... Just Because..LOL

    DAVY CROCKETTS

    Posted by: Candykisses

    Serves: 4
    Source: mikitty_MI (TOH)
    Effort: easy

Comments: This is so easy and has so much flavor. It’s a definite favorite of Jim’s. I did a little tweaking for our taste, but the basic recipe is still here.
Sue suggested diced green chilies, then putting the meat on one crescent and then putting in triangle. Not as big that way.

    INGREDIENTS:
2 cans (8 count) crescent rolls
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 med. onion, chopped
2 cans (4 oz.) whole green chilies
    1 c. Monterey jack/cheddar mix grated cheese
    sour cream
    chives or diced green onions
    additional grated cheese, optional
    sliced black olives, optional

    INSTRUCTIONS:
    Preheat oven to 375.

Cook onion and ground beef til done.
Open 1 can of crescent rolls and separate dough into rectangles and place them at least 1” apart on a cookie sheet sprayed with a non-stick cooking spray.

Take 4 whole green chilies. Slit each chili down the length and open it up to flatten it. Be sure and take out any seeds. Lay one chili on each rectangle. Using a slotted spoon, spoon the drained ground beef & onion over the 4 rectangles. Top each with about 1/4 c. of cheese mixture.

Open second can of rolls and separate into rectangle.

Gently lay a rectangles over each Davy Crockett. You don’t have to stretch the dough down to cover the edges. The dough will bake down and cover most of it. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Let each person top their Davy Crockett with sour cream, chives (or diced green onions). You can also top with additional shredded cheese if you’d liked and sliced olives.

    Apple Dew (The original recipe)

    2 packages crescent rolls
    2 Granny Smith apples
    2 cups sugar
    2 sticks butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
10-oz. Mountain Dew...or diet mountain dew

Peel apples and slice into 8 sections. Separate crescent rolls and roll 1 apple slice in each. Place in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Melt butter, add sugar and vanills; stir well and pour over rolls. Finally add Mountain Dew. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
This recipe is SO easy, it took 10 minutes to prepare and it's SO good.
Serve warm with a little ice cream on top.
