CoffeeCoffeeCoffee Coffee   Good "Snowy"  Morning Everyone!!!  CoffeeCoffeeCoffeeCoffee

Wilted Flower   It snowed all afternoon and night!! I looked outside this morning, and it seems we have quite a bit of snow!! Devil  Looks like Ron will have to plow before we head into town to take Mom to Walmart and to get groceries.

Wilted Flower  Nancy, did you get more snow too?? Looks like we are tring to catch up with all the snow fall in Wisconsin.

Wilted Flower  Carol, I was so sorry to hear that you have been so sick!!!! I sure hope you are on the mend.  When I am sick, I want Campbells noodle soup...LOL  I don't know what it is about that soup and upset stomachs, but it always helped me and I know it is not the best thing to eat...LOL

Wilted Flower Joyce, thank you very much for the beautiful birthday card!!!

Wilted Flower Rebecca, safe travels to Cincinnati today!!!! I wish Paige all the best and I am sure the show choir will do GREAT!!!!

Wilted Flower  Karen, how nice to catch up on what is going on in your life!! A cruise to Alaska is like a once in a lifetime dream and I am glad you and your DH are going on a cruise. Alaska is breath takingly beautiful and I sure hope you enjoy yourself!! Good luck with the search for a part-time job!!!

Wilted Flower  I am gearing up for the time change, March 9th. and waking up earlier in the AM!!! At least when daylight savings is here and its light longer, it might help with the cabin fever blues and this wanting spring to get here. Probably the next thing to worry about is a spring thaw, with rain and melting snow.

Wilted Flower Everyone, stay warm and safe. Enjoy your Saturday and weekend!!! Keep thinking Spring!!ParadiseParadiseParadise

Nancy - Are you ever going to be done with all the snow up your way?  I hope it happens soon.

Hauke - You are so right, doing laundry at home is much easier.  I think I still have one load to do today when I get home from work and then it's finally all caught up.  I keep meaning to ask, how are things going with your new client that you recently got?  I hope it is all going well.

Rebecca - I'm sure you are already gone.  But I hope you all have a safe trip going to Cincinnati and Paige and the choir do well.  Have fun catching up with friends.  I hope you will have time to visit while you are there.

Carol - I'm glad you are finally feeling a bit better.  It really knocked you out.

Karen - Its great to see you.  Sounds like you have been very busy.

Mary - Be careful going to WalMart today.  You are welcome for the card.  I mailed it Wednesday when I was off, so I was hoping it would get to you before your birthday.  I hope you have a good birthday weekend.

I'm working today.  We have one person on "priority" (the one attorney that always has busy work for us).  He said he has one or two leases, so we will see.  Yesterday afternoon, we got in 8 interview tapes that we have to transcribe.  I think these are shorter than the ones we got before, so I don't know if they got done last night or not.  Today is the office "clean up" day, so I'm guessing people may be too busy cleaning up to do legal work.  But we will see how it goes.

    Good morning, everyone.

We are having a nice start to March-----sunshine and a nice temp. Sure makes one think Spring.

MARY, I think our snows from now on will be light. But, so far this year we have had 80 inches of snow. The year is in the top ten snowfalls ever recorded for this area. We will all have to gear up for the time change. It always takes me a couple of days, at least. Have a good trip to WM.

JOYCE, hope work is OK, today. Sounds like you could be busy and that will make time pass quickly.

DGC have no school on Monday, so they want us to visit for a long weekend. We are leaving shortly for IL.

    Have a good weekend.

Big Smile Hi Everyone!!!  Big Smile

Wilted Flower  We went to Walmart this morning, but Ron had to plow first. I think we got at least a foot of snow.  Our side road wasn't too great when we left, but the main road was in pretty good shape and it looked like it was going to clear.  Once in Walmart, we looked out and saw it snowing like crazy. So we got a few more inches and I think a little more to come this AM.  The people greeter at Walmart was saying a Nor Easter is supposed to hit our area Wednesday or Thursday....sure hope he is wrong about that.

Wilted Flower  Nancy, glad you are heading out for the weekend!!! It must feel so nice to be able to get away after the winter you had.

Wilted Flower Joyce, hope your day at work goes fast for you!! Sounds like you will be pretty busy. I always have laundry...never seem to get done!!!

Wilted Flower  Wishing you ALL a Good Saturday!! Stay warm and stay safe!!

    Wilted Flower Hugs,

    Morning!  Welcome to March!

Mary, I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever stop snowing in the east...  Sure trying to send spring your way!

Carol, so sorry you've been so sick.  Hope you're feeling better today!

Well, I'm heading out the door.  - well as soon as I figure out what to wear.  We're heading to my aunt and uncles 60th wedding anniversary in another town... and I found some black slacks with a tiny white pin stripe - haven't wore them in years but they fit perfect now.  But, the only jacket I have that fits has a floral pattern - other than my black one and I'm not wearing that... so I think it will be the purple / green floral "jacket shirt" over a soft purple top... with my now fitting black slacks.  My other black slacks are just so baggy they drag on the floor.  LOL...  I know it's not the greatest fashion, but I'll be sitting 90% of the time and folks will only see my top half.  LOL

So I'm off to the party.  See  you all later.

Nancy - It sounds like your March weather came in very nicely.  Let's hope it continues for a while for you.  Yes, we were very busy at work and the day did go by fairly quickly.  I'm sorry I missed you, but I hope you have a nice time with the kids.

Mary - I hope the snow finally stopped.  I'm glad you got to and from WalMart okay.

Hauke - That's great that some of your clothes are too big for you.  I wish I had that problem.  You are doing so well.  I hope the anniversary celebration was fun.  What a milestone ... 60 years together.  I'm very happy for them.

As I said, today was the yearly office clean up day.  Our department didn't participate since we are moving, so things are pretty cleaned out.  But rest of the firm did it.  There were a lot of people there.  I was surprised how many people brought their kids.  The firm provided lunch for everybody that was there today, so we even got to participate in that.  When I went, there were a lot of people there, but there was tons of food!  They ordered in pizzas, salad, bread sticks, fruit, cookies.  The co-worker I worked with today said somebody told her they spent $800 on food!  It was amazing how much was there.  This afternoon, they sent out a message and said there was plenty left so come get some to take home.  I didn't, but I know people did.

We were so busy, I even stayed an hour over.  There are two things left for Monday.  One was a second proof of what I did, so I couldn't do that and the other was "whenever you get to it/when you have nothing else to do."  So it will be okay to wait until Monday on that.

I don't think I'm going to get any cleaning done today or putting up Easter decorations, so that means tomorrow will be busy.

    Hi Everyone!!!!

Joyce, how nice, the firm provided lunch for all the people!! Makes you feel appreciated!!!

Nancy, thank you for the beautiful birthday card!!!

Did any of you ever try the Flat Earth Baked Veggie Crisps? Oh my gosh, are they good.   There is supposed to be a 1/2 ounce serving of veggies in every 1/2 ounce.  Don't buy them, if you don't want to eat the whole bag...they are that good...LOL

We had snow off and on all day today and got a few more inches of the stuff. Maybe with March coming in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb.

Hauke, how nice that your Aunt and Uncle are married 60 years!! I hope you enjoy your day!! And congradulations on your clothes being too big!!!!!

Wishing you ALL a nice evening!!

    Mary

    Good morning all.

hauke, what a great day for you.  First, your aunt and uncles 60th anniversary!!  How wonderful for them.  And then, slacks that didn't fit that now do!!!!!  What a great boost for your weight loss program.  As for the "giraffe kisses"..........there is a picture with the giraffe very close to my face, but Danny missed the actual kiss.  Oh well.  There is also one of the giraffe getting up close and personal with Dannys stomach!!  Very funny.  When I get home, I'll try to send some pics out.

Mary, your hair looks so nice!  Always a moral boost to get a new "do"!!  Wow!!  You sure got alot of snow.  The weather reports for Michigan sure don't look that great.  sigh

Nancy, hope you enjoy your long weekend with the GKs.  Did you really mean 80 inches??!!  That is alot of snow.

Rebecca, I'm sure you are enjoying your time in Cinnci.  I'm sure the show choir wowed everyone.

Joyce, how nice that the firm had all that food brought in.  But, it sounds like everyone worked for it.  Maybe the weather will switch around soon so you can get the Easter decorations out.

Carol, glad you are starting to feel a little better.  Is Kenny much improved?  That flu bug is really a nasty one.

Well, the count-down is way to close to zero for my well being!!LOL  2 more days of warmth, and then it is back to snow country.  It is to be somewhat cooler on Sunday and MOnday, but still much warmer than back home.  Sat evening, we went to a place called the "Blazin' M Ranch".  It is a dinner/show type of deal and was wonderful.  They have a replica of an old west town complete with a Miss Kitty saloon.  Mom decided she wanted a picture of Danny and me in old west garb, and I talked her into being in the picture.  So funny, and such cute pictures!!  Dinner was served on tin plates with tin mugs.  The food was pretty good:  baked pitato, applesauce, cowboy beans, cole slaw, beef or chicken, biscuit and cake.  The show was mostly 4 cowboys singing and reciting funny poems, along with some comedy thrown in.  Sure was alot of fun.  On Friday, we spent some time with my moms' neighbors daugher(she is from Alaska but staying with her mom this year(medical problems with her mom).  We became friends 2 years ago and really have a good time together.  We went to lunch and then did some gambling at a nearby casino.  For the first time in my gambling carreer, I was playing a penny machine, and betting .50 a spin, and ended up with $100 from one machine, and $30 from another!!  YeeHa!!!  That is a big win in my book.

Well, time for bed, so I'll check back later, hopefully.  Take care all.

Wilted Flower Good Morning Everyone!!! Wilted Flower

Coffee It is coffee time and boy, does it taste good!!!  Coffee We just had a quiet afternoon and night, with not too much new. Guess that is a good thing!! LOL

Wilted Flower Deb,  sounds like you are having a great time and visit with your Mom!!!  I am sure you are not looking forward to the return to snow country after being in the sunshine and warmth of Arizona.  You did great at the casino...yes, that is a big win in my book too. I would be thrilled!! My DD has good luck at the casino's and I think if it were up to her DH, they would go weekly.  Ron can't see wasting money in a machine and gets bored, so it is not something him and I would regularly.  I would like to go once in awhile and see this buffet everyone raves about and just look around.  I am not one that is lucky on a machine and if I would win, I would end up putting it all back in the machine.

Wilted Flower  Wishing you ALL a GREAT Sunday!! This is day 40 of me being smoke free...can't believe it.  I am getting the munchies more and tring to cope with that is rough on a diet, so hopefully when spring gets here and I can be outside more that will help.

    Hugs,

    Mary

Deb – It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. The dinner theater sounds like a lot of fun. I'm glad you are having warm weather. Maybe that will make it a little easier to deal with the winter conditions when you get home. Spring is only 18 days away.

    Hi, everyone, from IL.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY. Good wishes being sent to you, today.

We're having a good time with DD#2 and her family. The weather is good and the temp is now 50. Looks like I will be going back to colder temps, too.

HAUKE, wonderful celebration you will be attending----60 years is great. And, woo-hoo on the clothes fitting now. I have a couple of sizes I kept, too.

DEB, what fun you had at the animal park and the ranch. Get ready to bundle up for that MI weather. Always fun to win at the casino.

JOYCE, the meal at work was thoughtful of them. Probably made some people go that extra mile with the work. Was a good variety to make the choices you like.

MARY, congrats on the 40 days being smoke free. Good for you.

CAROL, you feeling better sounds good. Hope you keep on heading to completely well.

We will be heading home, Tuesday.

Re: DC Conversation - Weekend, March 1-2

    Happy Birthday Mary!!!!

I woke this morning... late as I slept through the alarm.  LOL  and one of my first thots was... oh I never went on the DC last night to start the birthday song!

So I'm so glad Joyce was not as sleepy as I was and started the music.

After the party, we had some out of town folks come home with us and by the time they left it was well past midnight and I went straight to bed, did not start the computer, when start to the bedroom, not into the office.  LOL

It was a fun day, saw some cousins I haven't seen since 1989 at their wedding.  LOL.  Turns out that they came from so afar as their dad, another uncle who lives in the same town, turns 70 on Tuesday so all his kids came from 3 provinces as they had their family party for him last night and then at lunch today as they have to fly home tonight.  This is the only uncle in the family that ended up with a divorce and so for several years, he hardly saw his 2 of his kids due to the hard feelings and they sided with their mom - so I was thrilled for him that he had his whole family together... and since it was the same weekend as this anniversary, the entire family benefited as we ALL got to see them and pictures of their kids.

I think the cutest part of the day was when they were taking pictures... and some said "lets have a smooch" so I grabbed my spoon and started tinkling the glasses and then others did the same.  (That tradition at wedding here - tinkling of the glasses means it's time for the bride and groom to kiss- do you have that where you're at?)  Anyway, my uncle leans over to kiss my aunt (and yes, my cousin got the picture - he already emailed it to everyone this morning)... anyway everyone cheered and clapped - and then after the kiss my aunt turned beet red and covered her face in embarrassment.  That was so cute... after 60 years she's still shy to be kissed in public.  Definitely of a different era than what you see on the streets today.  LOL

Well, I smell coffee... so I'm off to find some and do some dishes.  Never did clean up the kitchen yesterday, so I better do it today.

Have a great Sunday everyone!  and Mary,  enjoy that birthday cake!  No need to watch portions today because you do know that there are never any calories in the birthday cake!  Never...   Bakers have their secret you know, to make birthday cakes with no calories for the birthday girl or guy  (not anyone else, though - just the birthday person!)

    Enjoy the day.
