Well.... the election is over!   And our Premier has been re-elected with a HUGE majority.  For the last month the media has been yakking about how he was going to loose and we were in for a change....  lots of negative ads ...  much talk about how he's a hick farmer who doesn't know squat...  and then he wins.  Our provincial parliament has 83 seats and he and his party won 74 of them.  When they dissolved the parliament to call the election, they held 62 seats and now they have 74.  Apparently it's the biggest majority on our provinces history!  I think it's so cool that for once the media did not convince people how to vote.

Ok ok... enough of politics.  I'll quit now.  Time for me to head to bed anyhow.  See you all in the morning.

Mary - I'm glad you were able to enjoy the weather for a day.  That's what we had Sunday.  But we had a lot of rain overnight and they are calling for snow, rain, sleet, ice throughout the day.

Doris - I hope you had a good time at your mother's birthday celebration.  The beauty salon sounds small.  I'm glad you were able to get a perm.

Hauke - I agree, its good that the media didn't decide who should win your election.  The media really puts pressure on the electing public.

We had rain overnight.  My computer says we are at 29, but the news says Indy is 34.  So there might be slick spots on the way in to work.  Today is move day at work!  We are so excited.  I took pictures on Saturday of our new space.  It really does look good, so different from what we had.  I wish I would have taken pictures of our "before" space.  One of the night ladies did, so I think I will ask if she can send me some of them.

Did anybody else watch the Barbara Walters special on the Royal Family last night?  It was very good.  I'm really glad I watched it.

    Everybody have a good day.

Wilted Flower  Good Morning Everyone!!!  Wilted Flower

Wilted Flower  My computer is saying we are at 42 degrees this morning! It is amazing how the driveway melted and some of the snow yesterday in the nice warm temps.  The lady bugs are out in full force in the house and keeping me busy getting rid of them. I never remember lady bugs in the house in winter.

Wilted Flower  The coffee is ready Michelle!!  Coffee  And it tastes so good!!! Coffee  Did you have a nice weekend and please tell me that you did the " ME" thing!!!!

Wilted Flower Rebecca, how was your trip to Cincini?? I bet the Show Choir did fantastic!!! How is the job going....or shouldn't I ask? LOL

Wilted Flower  Hauke that is the way to elect a Premier...get it over and done with fast!!! I wish I would have seen the special on the Royal family last night. I didn't know it was on.  Last night was a lousy TV night, so I just went to sleep!!!!!!!!

Wilted Flower  Joyce, you are up early this morning!!!  All ready for Moving Day!!! I am sure your new digs will be very nice and comfortable!! Take care on those roads this AM and on the ride home!!!

Wilted Flower  Doris, I am glad to hear that you got your perm!!! The beauty shop I go to is in a garage and not a very modern setting, but the hairdresser is tops, so that is all that matters. LOL Winter will soon be over. We will get alot of teaser days, till the real spring appears..LOL

Wilted Flower  Marge, we haven't heard from you for quite awhile. I hope you are feeling better.

Wilted Flower  We have to take Mom in to the Eye doctor first thing this morning.  A blood vessel burst in her eye and the white of her eye is all blood shot.  I talked to the Drs. answering service last night and they told me to put cold compresses on her eye, stop the asprin and put No tears in her eye and see the Dr. first thing in the AM.  I don't think this is anything to worry about, that it is something that just happens, but the first thing I think of is stroke. So I have to keep myself calm...again.

Wilted Flower  Wishing You ALL A GREAT Tuesday!!

    Wilted Flower Hugs,

    Wilted Flower Mary

Good morning all. Sounds like most had a great weekend. Mary, Happy Belated Birthday!!!! Hope your day was as special as you are. Sorry to hear about your freezer. Hopefully it just needed a "reboot".

Had a beautiful weekend. Sunny and in the 30's. Yesterday was sunny and cold - around 15. Brrr. Went thru my kitchen cupboards and cleaned them out, tightened door screws, and packed a bunch of stuff to store. Made a roast chicken for supper last night. Only ate a little bit with some spuds and today will divide it up into freezer trays to use for meals when I work 3-11's. The remaining I'll make soup.

Have another chiropracter appt this afternoon. DD has her last consert tonite at 7pm so will go to that. Tomorrow I have my first apt with my new MD. Funny, this could be interesting. He was on call tonite and made a comment about the fact that I had an appt with him on Wed. I must have looked at him funny because he said he looked ahead. Joking he said that if I cancled now he'd come looking LOL. I think we'll do just fine.

Well, gotta go do morning chores. See ya all tonite.

Mary, I "kinda" did a "me" thing. I had to go to the store for TP Sunday and as I was browsing in the book section, I found the newest edition of a series I just love. Well, I really couldn't afford the $13.00 but bought it anyway. Then I spent the afternoon with a mug of mint tea, Taffy and my new book.

Mary - A lot of days, I wake up by 4:30, but I don't usually get up.  But this morning, I wanted to see how the roads looked, so I decided since I was up, I would check in.  Fortunately, the roads were just wet coming into work this morning.  And so far, I think it is just rain out there now.  I hoep everything goes okay for your mom at the eye doctor.

Michele - It sounds like you had a nice weekend.  I'm glad you got some "me" time.  We all need those every now and then.  I hope he doctor's appointment today goes well and the same for the new doctor tomorrow.  Enjoy DD's concert.  I'm sure she will be glad to see you there.

The board has been quiet today.

I hope Nancy and Russell and Deb and Danny all got home safely from their trips.

I had a rough commute getting home.  It had rained most of the day, but when I got down to the lobby, I saw there was ice on the trees.  It looked pretty, but I knew it would be dangerous.  Starting out, the roads didn't look too bad, but the longer I drove, the worse they got.  On the highway, I was behind a semi and we were only going about 40 mph.  Others were going faster, but not me.  There was one road in my town that gets icy so I was going slow.  A car coming from the other direction started honking his horn.  I realized he was sliding, but I wasn't stopping because I was afraid I would slide.  He only missed me by a couple of inches, so it was a good thing I didn't stop; otherwise he would have slid into me.  I got home safely, but it was scary.  I had a message when I got home.  My sis-in-law had called checking on me.  I called, but no answer.  She called me back.  Maggie stayed after school, so Suzanne had to go get her.  I was surprised they didn't cancel all school activities.  My brother is teaching tonight and he was hoping they were going to cancel class, but I don't think they did.  I hope he will get home okay.  They said to expect more sleet/snow until midnight, so I'm sure tomorrow morning's commute will be bad, too.

We did get moved at work, but I was working on a document and didn't want to stop until I was done with it.  So I didn't get up there until it was almost time to leave.  So I didn't really get unpacked or settled.

    Everybody have a good evening.

Wow,  Joyce, what a close call!!! I am so glad you were not hurt....your guardian Angel was with you, that is for sure!!  We just had rain today and the temps lingered around 34 degree's.  Maybe our ice is on the way...hope not. Ron has to be at the hospital early for tests and I worry about him driving too.

Mom just burst a blood vessel in her eye.  We went to the eye dr. and he said he thinks the asprin and the vitamin she takes for her eyes acted like a blood thinner.  He is checking her next week to make sure there is no swelling or other problem.  He said the problem will go away on its own in about a week.   Wink  Take care in the AM drive. How did you like your new office and the move????

Michelle, enjoy DD concert tonight!!! I am glad you splurged on a book you like and that you had some "me" time!!!   Yes

Nancy, Russell, Deb and Dan.....hope you are all home safe and sound!!!  Wink

Not alot new here. Tomorrow, while Ron is at the hospital, I am planning on doing some cleaning.  Been kinda slack...LOL

    Hugs,

    Mary

    Hi, everyone.

We a had a good and safe ride home. But, I have no time to chat. I have my BYOC meeting tonight at church. Good thing I had my notes done before we went to IL. I also had a small craft ready to show the group. Otherwise we will have a short meeting and then work on our own needlework.

See you all in the morning.

Mary - Before I even got in the car at work this afternoon, I prayed to God that He would be with me and keep me safe.  Then when I got up in a bad part, I prayed that He would still be with me and also keep me calm.  Yes, I'm glad God or my Guardian Angel were with me because I truly believe one of them (or both) were there.  I'm glad it wasn't anything more serious with your mother's eye. I'm sure you were very worried.  I only got to spend about 10 minutes in our new space today, so I'm hoping to get settled in a bit tomorrow; although a lot of work came in that didn't even get started on while we were moving.  So I know there will be lots of work there tomorrow when I get in.  I hope things go okay with Ron tomorrow at the appointment.

Nancy - I'm glad you got home safely.  I hope the BYOC meeting went well. I'm sure you enjoyed yourself.

I forgot to add earlier I did get my Easter decorations up last evening.  I ordered another one from a catalog and it should be here tomorrow.  I also ordered a new garden flag for Easter.  I still have my winter ones up.  I will put up my St. Patrick's Day ones probably next week.  Then the day after St. Patty's Day, I will put up the Easter ones.

Wanted to say hi and to tell you that I'm feeling MUCH, MUCH better.  Boy I haven't been that sick in a long, long time.

I think Kenny just started to sweeper in the family room.  Wonder what the heck he's doing!!  LOL!!  MEN!!

We're leaving tomorrow a.m. to spend a couple of days with Greta and Lucas.  Tom had to work in Chattanooga this week.  Greta said she'd like some adults to talk to.  Then Friday we leave for a 3 day retreat for Journey in Faith.  Wish we didn't have the retreat to go to.  Oh well-----

I just baked 4 dozen cookies and have a loaf of carrot bread in the oven.  Some of the cookies will go with us tomorrow.  The rest of them and the bread are going to the retreat.

Mary happy belated birthday.  Sorry I missed your day.

Joyce I'm glad you made it home safely.  It's been a busy few days up at our end of the state.  The girls basketball team won the 3A state Saturday.  The boys basketball team won the 3A sectional on Monday.  The speech team won the sectional this weekend.  And the Christen school here in town won the Christen schools state basketball game.  Whew!  Think that covers everything.

The river is out of it's banks again.  Those people that live along the river have really had it tough this year.  Our sump pump ran tonight.  I'm so ready for spring!

Better go check on my carrot bread.  Talk to you all next week.

    Hi everyone...

Sorry I haven't had a chance to check in any earlier... ended up with several meeting this morning and then an unexpected luncheon... and after that it's the first Tuesday so it was grocery day... now it's 7 pm and I'm finally home again... getting ready to settle in for a night of watching the TV and the politics - did that last night with our Alberta election and tonight I'm tuning into the US channels to follow what's happening in all the primaries.

I sure am glad that everyone made it home safe!   Joyce, what a scare... and Nancy, you've come home just to drop and run.  LOL

Mary, did you get the freezer fixed?

Marge, I'm getting a little concerned.  I thought you were going for surgery in February, but I would have hoped to have a quick "all is well" message so we can stop worrying.  You're in my prayers.  Please update us when you can.

Deb... so we're waiting for the giraffe kiss photo!   LOL  Just teasing.  You can unpack first... and then the photo.

Michelle, buying a book is NEVER something to feel guilty about!  That's my opinion and I'm standing by it!   Enjoy my friend.  You deserve a day of relaxing!

Well, time to turn on the TV..  watch history in the making.
