    Wink  Good Morning Everyone!!!  Wink

Wilted Flower It is 35 degree's here, so I am wondering about the ice and what is happening today.  Didn't really hear the news or I am not awake enough to listen...LOL The coffee has not done its deed yet......Wink

Wilted Flower  Hauke, I don't really know what I really feel about the election news.  I know we need a change, but how much of one are we ready for???  I am on the fence here as who to vote for.

Wilted Flower  Good Morning MIchelle!! I hope you had no "rounds" to contend with last night!!! What kind of book did you get?  How was DD concert?

Wilted Flower   My freezer seems to be okay.  It seems the door wasn't closed properly. I think when I bought pizza from Schwans, I had to force the pizza in and I think the door was not closed tight enough.  I am going to take the food from the small freezer and put it in the big freezer and shut the small freezer off now.  Then I will be ready for freezing things this summer.

Wilted Flower  Ron has to be at the hospital at 7:30 AM today for test.  I am not going with him.  He is doing pretty good and said he didn't want to see me sit there over two hours.  I don't know whether or not I will be babysitting Gabby today or not either.  She is sick and her Mom doesn't feel well either, so if Beth wants to go to work, I might get to have Gabby for the day.  I told DD last night, I didn't think it was a good idea to take Gabby out in this weather of rain and dampness.  I am waiting for a phone call to see what Beth is doing today.  I think she will miss work today if Gabby is still sick.....she might have to take her to the doctor.

Wilted Flower Carol, glad you are feeing better!!!! Sorry that you were so sick.

Wilted Flower  Hauke, I am wondering how Marge is doing too.  It seems like a long time since we heard from her.

Wilted Flower  Doris, I hope all is well with you too!!!

Wilted Flower  Nancy, Welcome home!!!  Did you have a nice visit with your DD??? Feels good to get away for awhile, doesn't it?

Wilted Flower  I will check back later this morning. It is almost time to get Mom up and about. I know she is awake...waiting..LOL  Wink

    Wink Hugs,

    Wink Mary

Re: DC Conversation - Wednesday, March 5

Morning all. About 5 above this morning. Was fighting a stomach thing all day yesterday. Uff da. My sugars were up all day and thru the night. Bummer. I've my MD appt this morning. I'm sure he won't do the A1C as I just had one in January but am looking forward to establishing the "ground rules" - what he expects and is looking for and setting up a game plan that fits the both of us. I'm confident that he'll work with me and not just tell me what to do and expect I do it. He's also a bit more patient than my DO was. My DO was quick to become frustrated and "pawn" me off to a specialist. We'll see. Not sure what the scale will say, my BP was up tonite too. Hmmmmmmm.

Mary, I went to NSDD's concert and enjoyed it very much although I made the effort to hang out after to talk to her and it was as if she didn't care that I took the time to go. She didn't even say thank you until my mother prompted her to do so. It hurt ya know?? My folks still say how well she's doing there and are "sponsering" her to take driver's ed. Of course they expect me to take her out driving! Uff da. Sigh...... Chalk it up to another lesson learned for me. Oh, the book is from a series from Lorraine Snelling - it starts in the Red River Series about a Norweigen Family imagrating to America, the trials, the losses, and keeping faith in God. There are about five or six in that series. Then it continues with the Return to Red River Valley and the oldest son goes off to college and new characters are introduced but the story always flips back to his home and what's happening while he's there. The last ones have been The Daughter's of Blessing highlighting on the young women that have grown up in the series. The one I bought was the third. There will be another coming out sometime yet this year. I so enjoy reading the stories - it's easy reading and helps my faith become stronger.

As I mentioned, I was fighting a stomach bug again yesterday so I didn't get a thing done. Maybe it's my body's way of saying "slow down fool". LOL. Guess I should stop and listen. I've been able to avoid the crud thus far this year although it's just now starting to make it's way up here.

Hauke, I didn't see the news on the primary yet. I have no clue who won. It's fine by me as I'm not big on politics. I know, shame on me. This round it'll be easier for me to keep my head up as I vote as it's the cleanest democratic race - or any race for that matter - in a very long time. I have a very hard time voting for people that only smear one another's name and bring up petty thing from years ago.

Jeeze, looks like another inch or two of snow for us today and tomorrow. Yuck!!! Well, I'm off tonite folks. Keeping you each in thought and prayer. Have a great day!!

    Michele

    Good morning, everyone.

Yes, we had a good time in IL. I even got to bowl on their Wii game system. DD took me to a Hobby Lobby store, too. It is a craft store, but none near me in my area.

HAUKE, I see Hillary won the last two primaries, but many Democrats are undecided as to whom they will vote for----Hillary or Obama.

MARY, no freezer problem is good news. And, I'm glad it was nothing too serious with mom. The snow headed here is gone before it gets here, so we just have cold temps. Hope your DD and the little one will be feeling better.

MICHELE, good app't. with your new doc wished for you. Doesn't it feel good to just sit and read and relax?

JOYCE, scary, scary, but good decision to keep on going. Ice and black ice, especially, can be so dangerous. You will probably be busy getting your space settled.

CAROL, such a bummer when that sick-o stuff hangs around so long. May your strength build up and you're soon  feeling A-1, again.

Hi to DORIS, and her purty perm.

I think about MARGE, too. I know her surgery is scheduled for next Wed.

    Have a good day.

    Nancy Z.Big Smile

    Morning.

I'm not sure what I'll be getting at today... seems like I have a lot of things on my to do list.  LOL

I haven't had a chance yet since I slept in this morning, to go to CNN to see the final results in Texas... that was still up in the air when I went to bed.

Michelle, I find it interesting your comment about mud slinging campaigns as any ad I've seen of Hilary's that's all she does - but then I don't see all the ads, only what's shown in the west and in Canada.  LOL

Mary, hope everything goes well for Ron today.  and that Gabby is feeling better as well.

Joyce, are the roads OK today?

Well, I smell coffee... so off to the kitchen to find some breakfast.

Oh... my scale didn't move this morning.  I'm not impressed with myself.

Re: DC Conversation - Wednesday, March 5

Good morning all.  We are back and are ready to head back to sunny, warm Arizona!  We landed in light snow, and by the time we got our luggage and headed outside to watch for the SILs to drive by, it was coming down hard!!  The drive home was bad-I was only only to drive 50-60 on the highway.  Today is sunny, and the 4 inches we got are starting to melt.  I was good last night, and actually unpacked and took care of everything!!LOL  I would rather live out of a suitcase until it is empty than unpack one!!LOL  I did Curves this morning and am working on some laundry before work.  Danny will finish laundry this afternoon.

hauke, I wish our elections were like yours.  Ours drag on way too long, and the mud slinging just gets worse and worse.  Glad the anniversary party was a success and you got to see long lost cousins.  Did you get the kitchen cleaned up?    At least your scales didn't go up!!  Mine showed about a pound lost since Feb 22.  I'll take it since I was on vacation.

Mary, how is Gabby?  Did you end up babysitting?  Belated birthday wishes to you.  Sounds like your special day was a good one.  Congrats on being over 40 days smoke free.  Hope Ron did OK being out and about by himself.  I know you spent the time worrying about him.

Joyce, how is the new space?  What a close call you had on the way home.  Always scary driving on bad roads since there are so many idiot drivers out there.  Bet your Easter decorations look nice.  Will make people think spring, I'm sure.

Nancy, glad you had fun at the kids.  Did you have bowling on Wii?  Sure hope we are on the downhill side of snow accumulations!!

Doris, bet you were glad to get your perm.  What a fire trap of a beauty shop.  Glad there were not problems while you were there.

Michele, that series of books sound interesting.  Since I read all the time, I don't count it as "me" time.  I even read 2 books while I was at moms.  Hope the appt with the new MD went well.  Sounds like he has a sense of humor.

Carol, I was glad to hear that you are feeling much better.  Enjoy the time with Greta and Lucas.  Hopefully, the weather will cooperate with you while you are in Mi.

We haven't heard from Sandy, Robin, Annette or Marge for awhile.  Claudia is absent again also.  Hope all is going OK with them.

Well, time to switch loads in the washer and find some lunch.  Later all.

    Deb

I had an email from Marge. She said:

"I haven't been on the board either, seems like I don't get on here till late and then I have several messages and by the time I take care of them it is past my bedtime.
So I hope everyone is okay, tell them I say Hi and will get back when I can."

Re: DC Conversation - Wednesday, March 5

Carol - I'm so glad you are feeling better finally.  You really got hit hard.  Continue to take care of yourself.  Have a great time wtih Greta and Lucas.  I hope the retreat goes well.  It sounds like your area is doing very well in all the contests.  The high school have won all the games so far in the sectional/regional (or whatever level they played at last weekend).  They have a good team this year.  I can't remember which class we are in.  I agree, I'm ready for spring NOW.

Hauke - I hope your meetings went well yesterday.  Marge goes in for her surgery next Wednesday.  She's trying to get things ready for while she is gone.  So that's why she's been missing.  I told her we will all be praying for her.  We will be making history this year for the elections.  It is going to be interesting.  Some of the roads were still messy this morning in my county, but once I got into the next county, they weren't bad.  The sun came out and it got above freezing, so most of the snow/ice melted.

Mary - I'm still undecided about who to vote for also.  All the candidates have some good points and some bad ones.  So there's a lot to think about.  I'm glad you didn't have to buy a new freezer. I hope Gabby andyour DD feel better soon.  Poor things.   How did Ron's appointment go?

Michele - I'm glad you did go to NSDD's concert, even if she didn't appreciate it.  your book sounds very interesting.  I hope you are enjoying it.  I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this.  How did the appointment go with the new doctor?

Nancy - It sounds like a good time with DD and family.  My sister got a Wii also and is loving it.  Yes, we were trying to get things settled at work today, but it all fell into place.  Things are still a little out of whack with some things, but pretty much we're settled.  We all really like the new space.

Deb - Welcome home!  I'm glad you got home from the airport safely but I'ms orry you had to get home to snow.  We really like our new space at work.  We've always had to share a desk with the night staff, so now we each have a desk to ourselves.  It is so nice.  The Easter decorations really have brightened up my home.

I haven't been to the gym at all this week.  Some weeks I do pretty well, other weeks, I do really badly.

Hauke, may I join the club of not being too proud of myself either with the weight  loss?? My scale moved.....upward about 3 pounds!!  I am not happy, but I guess with quitting smoking, I can expect it till I get everything under control.

Welcome home Deb!!!! I am so glad you had such a nice vacation in Arizona!! Sun and warmth...what more could one ask for????

Marge, if you peek in, I am keeping you in my prayers for next weeks surgury.

Doris, how are you doing too?

((((Michelle))))  Enjoy your day off!! More need of "me" is in order!!!! Hope you feel better.

Gabby has a sinus infection. DD took her to the Dr..  Gabby was still running a fever this AM and DD didn't feel that great either, so off to the Dr. they went.  So I didn't get to spoil her.

Ron's appointment went well.  He said the scans were long and he said they checked everything!!! We might know the results by Friday.  The Dr. will call if something is wrong and if we don't hear from him, then we know its good news.

Nancy, those Wii's are alot of fun.  I really liked the bowling game too, it was fun!! Glad you had such a nice weekend!!

      Prayers to ALL in need,

    Mary

I'm sittin' here gnawing on an old biscuit that my SIL made, lol.  It's from Sunday morning, so you can tell I'm hungry for no reason at all.

Guess the snowy stuff just doesn't want to quit yet!!  We had sunny days, but still in the 20's at night lately, but no precip, it all floated over to you guys in the mid-west, north east.  Gee Deb, yah think the bad weather would have waited for you guys to at least get comfy into the house!!    Joyce, that was sure a scary drive home you had the other day too, man oh man!!!

At the hairdresser's today, (I had to go back for the color to be put in), I mentioned something about the plugs and stuff, and the lady that rents the shop told me in fact she had an electrical problem last weekend and had to call an electritian in!!!!!  He messed around with some stuff and it seemed to be fixed for awhile.........let's hope anyway.

That flu-like stuff going around, it has taken out half of the schools here.  I am afraid to go somewhere, and keep washing my hands with lots of soap whenever we do go out.  Dh has to get his blood test every Monday, so we can't avoid that.  Then I become too "mothering" and bug him about if he is dressed warm enough and so forth... just can't help myself.

Hope the rest of you are staying as well as can be expected, Michelle, you are exposed to all kinds of stuff with your job too, hard to NOT get anything.

See yah tomorrow I hope.     Keep on going with the non-smoking Mary, you are doing nicely.  Do you still take the med now or have you been weaned off??

    Doris
