I thought that I had savved the recipe, but now can't find it. I bought the kielbasa and now need the recipe. Can you help? I don't remember what the other ingredients were - maybe spinach? I may be confusing it with anohter recipe. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

My family really likes this one.

    Sausage Potato Soup

    1/2 lb kielbasa, diced
6 medium potatoes, peeled & cubed
    2 cups frozen corn
    1 1/2 cups chicken broth
    1 celery rib, sliced
    1/4 cup sliced carrot
    1/2 t garlic powder
    1/2 t onion powder
    1/2 t salt
    1/4 t pepper
    1 1/2 cups milk
    2/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Brown sausage, drain & set aside. Combine potatoes, corn, broth, celery, carrot and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add milk, cheese, and sausage. Cook and stir over low heat until cheese is melted and soup is heated through.

Re: ISO: soup recipe with kielbasa recently posted

I recently posted this one...it isn't really a soup, but I served it at our Soup Day at work. Even if it isn't the one you were thinking of ...this is GOOD!

Black Beans and Kielbasa (my notes are included!)

2 cans (15 ounces each) black beans (drain and rinse one, use the liquid and beans from the 2nd can)

1 can (14 ½ ounces) stewed tomatoes (I also added a can of petite cut diced tomatoes, because I knew I was serving it with rice)

1 cup frozen yellow corn kernels

(1 small can diced green chili peppers—I added this because  I like the added kick!)

2 teaspoons bottled minced garlic (I used fresh minced…maybe 3 or 4 cloves, or to taste)

1 teaspoon chili powder (I used Tastefully Simple Wahoo! Chili)

    ½ teaspoon ground cumin

( I also added a good tablespoon of Tastefully Simple Onion Onion, and a good sprinkle of Garlic Garlic—I like flavor!)

1 pound reduced-fat turkey kielbasa sausage (I used regular kielbasa—I believe Polish sausage is the same thing)

Shredded cheddar cheese, or other Mexican-blend cheese, optional garnish (I forgot this at home!)

    Cooked rice, for serving, optional

Serves 6 ( I doubled it for my big crock-pot)

Rinse and drain 1 can of the black beans, and pour the beans into the slow cooker. Add the second can of black beans with their juices to the cooker. Add the tomatoes with their juices and the frozen corn. (Add the green chilis now too, if you are going to use them)

Sprinkle the garlic, chili powder and cumin over the mixture and stir gently.

Cut the sausage link into 6 pieces, and *** each piece with a fork. Place the sausage pieces over the bean mixture, but do not stir. Place the lid on the slow cooker, turn the cooker to low and cook for at least 6 hours or up to 10 hours. (The bean-sausage mixture also can be cooked on high for 3 hours or up to 4 hours.)

Before serving, if rice is desired, cook it according to the package directions. To serve, ladle the bean mixture over a bed of rice (if desired) or ladle the beans into soup bowls (if not using rice). Top each serving of the bean mixture with a piece of sausage. Sprinkle shredded cheese over each serving to taste, if desired. Serve at once. (Leftovers will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.)

Yeah! now I have 2 great sounding recipes to try! The black beans and kielbasa is the one that I was thinking of. Thanks to both of you for your quick replies.
