    cake

I am looking for a recipe for a simple layer cake that will get higher than the regular boxed mix. I've seen cakes in restaurants that barely fit under the cake cover. I can start with a basic white mix and add but first I need the recipe. Anybody have ideas

It is likely not what you are looking for, but a lady that bakes for our funeral dinners uses 1 1/2 to 2 cake mixes per 13 x 9 pan. It bakes up quite high. I am not sure if her pan is any deeper than a standard pan or not...it does not seem to be, but use your judgement as you pour the batter into the pan. Of course she has to bake it longer.

Here is a recipe that I got from a person who teaches cake decorating. Coordinate the pudding with your cake flavor, such as chocolate pudding for a chocolate cake.

    1 box cake mix

    1 small box instant pudding

    1/4 c. oil

    1 c. water

    4 eggs

    1 t. vanilla extract

    1 t. almond extract

    1 t. butter extract

    Mix according to box directions.
