Ggod Morning! Still a misty rain, cloudy and overcast. Big puddles on the yard.

    YF...you have mail. (((HUGS)))

Will be picking up that can of hairspray for the ink-stained shirts. Was up till 3 a.m. trying to get them out. Tried 10 hours of soaking in Oxiclean while I was working. (thanks, Cookie, for the peroxide lesson...rip off that oxiclean costs so much), tried rubbing alcohol, and I tried toothpaste. Also tried a product, Matrix, from an MLM company no longer in business. Discouraged I went to bed.

Need to run into town to get a criminal check and some other searches related to my job...gotta renew these every few years, ya know.

Waving to you all from my little haven.  ***JP***

    morning.

ya know, rain i can handle. i grew up on the west coast.  but this friggin wind has just got to stop already!!!  it is brutally cold, and strong.  just blows the damp right through  a person. it is making it almost impossible to work outside!  URRGGGGGG!!  i have way to much to do for this!  and it sucks, since if i could get some of my plants in the ground they could benefit from this rain....  oh well.  maybe later.

well i need another cup of coffee. and it's schooltime. i'll be back later!!!

I hear ya, Cookie. It's only 3* here. Yikes! I'm glad I haven't already picked up my already ordered wave baskets. What a Spring it's been for greenhouse operators...and everyone itching to get into their gardens. At least it's not DRY here, but downright c-cold.

Gotta whamoose to town now...after a coffee.

Hugs and good thoughts for you Maria.  You have a strong support team behind you.  That's a big piece of the fight.

Yep its cool and still windy here too.  Promising looking grey clouds have moved in.  It feels damper ( is that proper?) than it has in ages so maybe my pleas for moisture will be answered.

I coiled packed the almost 1000 pounds of potatoes we sowed yesterday.  The wind just cut through wow I was warmer camping all weekend.

There's been no more bear tracks we've found so I'm hoping he moved on through.

DH and I decided not to have a table at tomorrow's market.  THe garden is just too slow and there are thousands of other jobs that need our attention.  The truck that was to be here last week is supposed to be here this morning but morning has finished.and no word from trucker

I'm soaking a t shirt in rubbing alcohol to try remove navy dye that transfered from one of DD tea towels  in the laundry.  That's slow going.

Better scoot and get cracking again.

Pat:  What is coil-packed potatoes?   I'm glad your DH convinced you to not go to town and set up a table at the Market.  he's right,  to many other things crying out to be done this time of year.  We're still waiting for that rain that has "been coming" for a month now.

Maria:  That terrible "C" word sends shivers through a person even at the mention ot it.  Try not to think of the "worst" senarios,  please.  Easy to say but it is a must.  You have hundreds  of friends,  neighbors and family that will be sending up prayers for you,  asking for you to have strength to get through the next few 'pages'.  We all care so much.  Keep us informed when you feel like sharing.

okay, it is officially cold enough with the wind that i might haul out my insulated carharts just to go outside!!!  dang.  isnt living in southern ab just grand???? you just never know what the weather is going to be like!!

might head out to the shop  this afternoon to cut some wood for some of the projects i wanted to get finished.  then i can build them inside.  nothing too terribly big.  those benches i was telling you about yesterday, is what i think i might get done today.  simple. easy, but will be nice to get something accomplished!!

Well the semi is loading grain as I type.  Our new neighbour has brought in 2 loads of gravel for our house yard and is now spreading it.  THis project has been in the works for over two years.  Today became THE day. Of course its amidst everything else going on!!

Laura, I drove my tractor with a heavy spring like attachment behind, up and down the potato rows to help press the dirt around the seed to make good contact.  It also helps to keep the dry soil from blowing.

I am so relieved there's no need to get things ready for an all day market.  I can concentrate on the paperwork needed for this load and then back to the strawberry patch cleaning.  There seem to be miles of quack grass roots this spring.

    Off and running again.  Pat

    Re: Canadian Corner 22/05/08

    Good afternoon all...Smile

    for YF:

When dealing with the cancer at first, I
went to my Bible to find promises of God to me. I
wrote down the letters C-A-N-C-E-R and couldn't turn
the pages fast enough as the following promises were
    revealed to me:

    C … stands for
"I can do all things through Christ who
    strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).

A … is for his promise to
Always be with me until the
end of the world (Mathew 28:20).

N … in Hebrews he says that he will
    Never, never leave
me or forsake me (Hebrews 13:5).

    C … is to
Cast all your cares/troubles on Jesus, for
he cares for me. (1 Peter 5:7).

    E … is God's promise of
    Everlasting life (John 3:16).

    R … is for my
Redemption and the forgiveness of sins
(Colossians 1:14), and Relief for those who are
    troubled (2 Thessalonians 1:7).

"With these promises from God's Word I knew I had
    already won."

    Suggested prayer:
"Dear God, thank you that in all my
trials and troubles you have promised to always be
with me and to comfort me--so that I will be able to
comfort others who are also going through similar
trials. Please help me so to do. Thank you for hearing
and answering my prayer. Gratefully, in Jesus' name,
    amen."

I hope & pray that you get excellent treatment soon.

organic Pat:  do you have any solution to quack grass other than trying to dig it up?  It has infested out lawn & parts of my flower gardens & my back is too sore to dig it out.  I don't care if it is an organic solution or not

Doryd:  Can you email me any more details on the CC reunion?  I'm trying to come.

Charlene:   in reply to your email

I don't know if you will get the reply so here it is:

I couldn't get on the board so I choose what I thought was not a new name.  I used to have picture to go with it.  How do I get that again?  And how can I change my name?

I'd never think you are rude for just trying to figure out who I am.  I don't get on very often b/c by the time I post, everyone's already been there & gone.

My memory is awful & I can never remember where people are from.  I meant to add my province.
