Don't know if anyone else knows this, but I discovered it a while back. When I have left over rolls or anything with bread in it, I will put it in my microwave on the defrost setting. Usually only takes a minute or less and I have a warm roll with none of the hard crusty parts I usually got when just warming them up normally. I wish I would have known this sooner, would have saved many rolls from the garbage can! :)
Some people like to put a cup of water in the microwave & say it helps freshen the bread. I've found that if I put the roll, tortillas, whatever I'm 'refreshing' in a potato bag...that seems to work well for me. It's a flannel lined cotton bag that's supposed to work well for microwaving potatoes. We don't like the potatoes out of the bag that much but it works great to put bread inside it.
dampen a paper towel and wrap the rolls in microwave a few seconds.
I agree on using dampened papers towels. It always worked like a charm for me!
