I am hoping that I can get back to a semblance of normal living this week. June has just flown by with one week taken up by relay for life, another by an antique show and this last week by a huge yard sale for the curling club, I want my life back altho all these events have been a lot of fun.
Anyway tonight we're having roast beef, potatoes from the garden, carrots or broccoli followed by a cherry cheese cake.
Tomorrow will be shredded beef on a bun with leftover cheesecake. It looks like we are in for a week of nice weather without being super hot and humid so I may make a hot chicken dish later in the week. Some fish (haddock only for hubby) will probably be there too - one of our local stores had a good sale of the type hubby likes last month. Potatoes and peas are ready in the garden now so they will be on the menu too. A couple of days with salad will be quick and easy, better on the waistline (what waist line I hear someone saying) Burgers on a bun are always good too and will saving messsing up the kitchen.
That's what I aiming for this week - how about you?

Good morning Tasty and others peeking in,
I too am hoping to get a more 'normal' plan happening here. As farmers though, this IS our busy season and we do work as the weather permits.
We travelled yesterday to do our deliveries and then celebrate my youngest's birthday with a family brunch. We went back to his apartment for a BBQ and more visiting. Lots of yummies and NO meal prep.
Tonight, I'll rescue the remaining fresh veggies in the fridge in a pork stir fry.
DH has said he wants to get the BBQ in use again as the weather has turned warm and dry--steaks, chops and smokies are all available in the freezer.
When I got groceries last week, I got salmon and basa filets, and a pork tenderloin at less than half price. I'll have to plan them into meals along the line. The lettuce is ready in the garden now---will have to start checking the early potatoes.
Happy mealtimes all week.
glad to see someone's back & alive on here! i thot maybe everyone ran off!
Tonite i'll make DH finish off the pork chop, creamed corn, & bread. I have chicken breast thawing out now for baking tomorrow in the nesco. I will pull it off the bones & part it out for several meals this week & those will be chicken normandy, chicken & avocado wraps & a small dab of ckn. & noodles . I also have cooked navy beans thawing for later in the week paired with cornbread & small salad. I have left over grilled smoked sausages so those will simmer in BBQ sauce & be served with home made french fries & german slaw. I am having a friend over for coffee tomorrow afternoon & i'll serve it with a dark. chocolate fudge & caramel poke cake. smothered in whipped topping.

How soon will you be to eat normally? I know you will be thrilled. What's top of the list?
oral surgeon says it will be a gradual process but dentist says anything & everything immediately...i am believing the oral surgeon since that's his specialty. however, I would LOVE to eat a big handful of macadamias & lindor chocolate together!!!!! makes my mouth water just thinking about it. so far i can't even manage salad or a hot dog...it's like trying to eat a big rubber alligator. In the fall I will start this process again on the opposite side as I also lost the bottom bridge there as well. but, at least i will have teeth on the top and bottom of one side. funny how you take little things for granted until they're gone.
Time has flown by so fast and the way the fields look it should be July/August. Around here the corn crop is done for the year. With no rain and the heat the corn is pretty pathetic looking. But you still keep going.
We are having spaghetti tonight, have some leftover hotdog buns to use for garlic bread. Am baking some cornbread this morning since it is kind of cool and I am doing my baking for the weekend and want to use up a couple ham bones with some beans for Wed. Thurs we are working at our county fair so will probably be a porkburger sandwhich at the 4-H food stand. Friday the kids are all coming home so will have taco's and Sat. we will be at our communitys 175th celebration so will be eating out there.

Hi Everyone!
Sorry that I haven't been posting much, but I have had bad shoulder problems the last couple of months. I finally got tired of the pain and went to the Doctor and I am going into surgery tomorrow on my right shoulder.
Don't know how long I will be off the computer (I am right handed) but I will be reading and following your posts as much as possible.
As for my menu, my DH and one daughter will be doing most of the cooking and planning for awhile. My DH is a pretty good cook, but definitely not a "Low Calorie" cook. (he loves butter etc) LOL!! And my daughter doesn't get home until 8 pm at night-too long for me to wait. Should be interesting.
So his weekly menu's will be something to see?
Will let you know how I fare (food and surgery wise) as soon as I can type a wee bit.
BTW, sister Sue, glad to hear you are actually going to be able to eat some "real" food now. Thank heavens for that, hey?

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.
If you think your dog can't count, try putting 3 dog biscuits in your pocket, then give your dog only 2 of them!
got my crowns, ate real food but not much of it as I needed to let th glue set on the crowns for 24 hrs before i do any heavy, hard chewing. no carmels he said...but that does sound really good doesn't it? anyway, i did eat 1/2 a ckn./avocado wrap & it felt weird to actually be able to chew. almost forgot how...ha hope it doesn't make me eat more than i should just because I can now. still have another 70#'s to go.
hope your surgery is not as awful as it sounds! get well SOON.
our air conditioner quit last nite at 8 pm. they say it is to be 105^ today with index of 110. yikes! I hope the repair man gets here EARLY!!!!!
Doogle, so glad you can eat "normally" again. Can't imagine what you've been thru. Hope the a/c is working again soon.
Jan, lots of luck with your surgery, hope all goes well. Glad hubby can cook. Take it easy when you get back home and listen to the Drs.
