    Good morning ladies,

Are you ready for this today will feel like 41C....help me, I'm melting.

Got more bad news regarding my DB he had two heart attacks yesterday and he still has another blood clot, lying at the bottom of his heart. He is in another city Kitchener (that is where Anica lives) the dr. there told him no more chemo. That is taking a toll on his heart. (he is in ICU). I can't stop thinking about him, once he gets back to his hometown we are going to see him.

Aleida, did you get the rest of the weeding done at church? I'm sure the good Lord will appreciate what you are doing in front of His house.

Eija, we got 1/4 of an inch of rain in two days, we are going to need lots of rain to quinch the thirst of the ground. When it is dry outside and our shoes are clean we wear our shoes in the house. Otherwise we take them off, I wear moccasins in the house mostly.

Noudder that is a lot of rain, there must have been lots of flooding. My goodness how can the ground take it all in...we sure could...lol.

Char, it sounds like a very active school, which is great too many obese kids today. They play video games instead of playing outside, kids years ago were always playing outdoors and having fun. It pays to be active, that goes for adults too. My DS has a German Shepard, they are beautiful dogs. Roxie goes crazy when I get there, she looks for treats...she knows I always bring her some. They are great protectors of their family, needs love in return.

    Have a wonderful ladies,

    YF

Good morning Maria and all who will follow.

Yes, Maria, I finished the garden weeding yesterday.  I did it despite the wet and it took me about 2 hours.  And then I looked a mess.... a total mess from top to bottom.  My butt was dirty, dirty, and more dirty.  I have to sit down for a lot of weeding because I don't do bending well.  So you can imagine how dirty.  And my face.  If I feel a bug or stray hair on my face, I use my hand to remove it.... my very dirty, muddy hand.  I was dirty.  I went home to get cleaned up.

When ready to return to the church, I let Luke out while putting a few things in the car.  Luke is allowed to go outside all the time when we are outside.  He is 5 years old now and does seem to know his boundaries well.  I cannot say he wouldn't go past those boundaries should he see a squirrel.  Anyways.... a couple were walking their two dogs and Luke got excited of course... he barked and ran to the end of the laneway.  Then of course their dogs got excited also.  That woman yelled.... and I mean yelled ... at me from the end of our laneway to about 3 laneways down.... that I must leash my dog.... it was the law..... look it up!!!!  I don't think it is the law that a dog must be leashed on its own property if it is under control.  I will tell you that Luke never left our property during the whole episode.... and the woman never stopped screaming at me... over and over and over.  I brought Luke inside and left for church.  I suppose there two sides to this but.... it was the constant screaming that really irked me.  At one point she screamed.... Leash you dog..... and I said.... I can't, I'm too busy listening to you.  Yes she got to me.... but for only the briefest of moments.  Wonder if they are the ones who walk a dog(dogs) that are allowed to poop without any scooping being done... guess I will be watching for them... though really if Luke is a problem for them, they should walk another road.... there are lots around.

It rained/thundered/lightninged this morning around 5:30ish.  So I do not have to water the plants.... I like this rain overnight stuff... but it is going to be hot and humid today... great day for doing nothing other than sitting around.  Hope you all have time to relax.

Good morning all...well, we are on flood alert. They have said that the South Thompson is going to rise about 2 feet by the end of the week. That is not good news at all.

Guess we need to start moving things in the basement. One of the forecasters says that if you have had historical troubles before, that you will have them again. And this house has had that...the year before we moved in, plus twice before that.

I am not happy about all of this at all, no doubt! Makes me want to move again..but this will make it harder to sell in this area too.

Today I have to go pick up some papers at the office. Then home to start doing whatever I need to.

Feeling kind of depressed about all this, but I do live on a flood plain.

Maria, I sure wish I could share some of the water with you! It is raining again.

Aleida, that woman should have not yelled for so long. I can understand her being nervous about it, but if you did something with Luke, then she should have calmed down. Keep an eye out for her in the future.

    Have a good day all

Good Morning! It's a lovely 12 C. here with a high forecasted of 16. One of my DDs is in Ontario for a couple weeks. She will love it there with the heat and humidity. For once she'll be warm, she says. I'm sure she'll have a wonderful time there, being the social butterfly she is.

I don't envy you all the water, Eija! Stay safe. I'm sure YF meant your water, not ours, as we are expecting the rains, but haven't had that much, really...certainly not as much as you've had.

Sending belated birthday wishes to HH. Hope your special day was truly special, as you are.

(((((YF))))) so sad about your brother. Cancer and heart attacks...oy! May his suffering soon be eased.

I will be attacking some clutter again today...mostly paperwork.

Have a great day! Stay cool and hydrated, Ontario Friends!

Aleida, what is the matter with that crazy woman? Luke was on his property, and besides that is what dogs do is bark when they see another dog. That is their way of communication. Does she have to go on and on about him being on a leash? Maybe she should teach her dogs not to bark....lol.  Don't let a person like that ruin your day. Give her the finger.

Eija, so much rain for you and the town, why is it that some people get too much rain and others nothing? If I could take the rain off your hands Eija, I certainly would in an instant. The city parks are irrigating the grass its turning brown and crunchy. I also heard the the city of Windsor is going to close 15 parks, apparently its costing them too much money. Wonder where all our tax dollars are going? They said the same thing about fixing the roads.

Where is everyone today? Looks like Pat isn't back yet from her camping trip. Dory must be so busy with her family, and helping others. Angela must be enjoying the view of the lake.  Everyone else must be too busy to come here and chat, which is something I understand.

    Tata for now,

    YF

Hi There! Just sitting waiting for a call to be returned. Hate playing phone tag or being on hold for great lengths of time! Makes one think I'm so very busy! LOL

We've had our share of rain too. We can see the lake has come up about 6 inches. We use the dock as a marker. According to the news, Manitoba will get more water pouring in from the West into the Assiniboine River. Ultimately that will reach our lake in round about ways. Not a lot anyone can do about it but keep the fingers crossed that there is no flooding.

Maria, I am so sorry to hear about your brother. Certainly the prognosis doesn't sound very good. Will you be able to get to see him soon? How far away does he live from you? You'll be wanting to go fairly often. Cancer & heart attacks are a very poor combination. (((Hugs)))

Eija, I so hope you will not be flooded or have water in your basement. I can only imagine how nasty that must be especially if you have a finished basement. Here's hoping it's a false alarm though you will have moved/raised furniture, etc for nothing. Definitely you'll be getting your exercise in for the day.

There! Phone call is done. I really like how WestJet takes your number & calls you back when it's your turn in the line up. Sure beats waiting on hold for 25 minutes!

Aleida, could your freaking out passerby have been scared of your dog? I think he's a fairly large dog, is he not? Still, not really the best way to get results. With any luck she'll walk elsewhere.

Another call & company arriving shortly.   Coffee  Coffee Good thing I dusted earlier! Smile

Take care & enjoy the rest of the afternoon. I think I'll be starting a new book after getting my laundry done, just the one load today! :)

    Hello CC friends,

We got home about an hour ago--had 4 days parked on the shoreline of Lake of the Prairies (right on the MB/SK border).  The lake level had come up 6 feet in the 10 days before we arrived and the water level rose at least 18 more inches before we left.  DH did manage to do some shoreline fishing.  He caught several large carp and released those after pictures.  He also caught enough perch and pickerel that we enjoyed two feeds of those.    Friday we had to leave the campground to make room for the weekend reservations.  We moved to the town campground a couple of blocks from BIL's house.  While we were there the rains never quit (5 inches in town  in less than 36 hours)  so much water the campground flooded as well as the ice cream store and office had 6 inches of water inside.  What a mess!! Yesterday, the big trucks and equipment never stopped as they pumped water and built an l shaped dike.  That campground has a new look.

It is cloudy here now but there were only sprinkles while we were gone.  Our grass didn't grow much at all but the weeds in the fields certainly thrived.  lol

Thanks for the birthday wishes.  I did suffer computer withdrawal the entire time we were away.

Better get the camper unloaded and back into the swing of things.

    Give her the finger.

    You made me LOL Maria.

I just couldn't get why she kept going on and on.... and insisting that it was the law that he be leashed.  I did tell her that when I walk him, he is leashed.... but no he should be leashed always.  Oh well

Angela, I suppose she was somewhat afraid... that's why I am of two minds on the whole incident.  Could be she does not totally have control of her two dogs.  Luke is around 70 pounds... part husky and part Great Pyrenees and part ... who knows??  One of her dogs was a German shepherd... if I remember correctly... and the other, I'm not sure... but smaller.  Luke does bark whenever someone strange/new goes by.  He likes to get out there, stops barking and then wants to socialize.  Some people when they walk by, let their dog off the leash and let him/her run with Luke (they always ask first and of course they are not strangers to me nor to Luke) ... Luke is not always the most aggressive... but they have fun.

Just keep hearing her say..."It is the law.  Look it up."
