    Good morning ladies,

Back to work its Monday, but when you are retired its different. A cooler morning for us and not as high a temp today.....yeah. We lived through the heat wave, but this cooler temps is only here for a day or so.

Last Sat. we stopped at a yard sale when André spotted an electric lawn mower. The lady told they only used it 2-3 times, it looked new we paid her $50. for it. Got home and I tried it ...works great our other lawn mower it to heavy for me, I can't even start it, not strong enough to pull on the cord. Now I have a new job .

RD, it must be hard to have family so far away, my youngest brother lives in Alberta, very far for us.

(((Eija))) here is a hug for you, to be going through this horrible time of waiting for the rains to stop. I'll say a prayer for you to brighten your day and to make the rain go away.

Pillena, so sorry to hear about your DH, life has many ups and downs , more downs IMHO. We have been going through quite a bit ourslves with my DB and DH. I will pray for you that your DH will be on the road to recovery.

Aleida, again you did ghreat on the yard sales...Yes

(((Noudder))) you also need a hug for the stress related work issues.

I think we could all use a great big hug (((ladies)))

    Have a nice day ladies,

    YF

Good morning Maria and all who follow.

Off to church this morning. We intend to make the carrot salad.... yummy....no...super yummmy..... for the luncheon on Canada Day... we serve a salad plate and this is part of that.... the other salads.... cole slaw and potato salad.... will be prepared on Saturday.... ooops I won't be there as I will be in London.  We'll do whatever else can be done today I suppose rather than leave it all for Saturday.  A bit of pain that Canada Day is on a Sunday because we have to work around the mass.... and the parking lot will be full of vehicles for the mass.... and I suppose several will leave their vehicles there and then enjoy the festivities on the street.  Oh well it is all good.

After the Canada Day celebration we don't meet again for the summer except when our leader calls us to tell us the pickling cucumbers are ready and in we go to make pickles and relishes.

Today is Strawberry parfait day.... among other things.... I didn't know that when I planned that I would make the ladies homemade strawberry ice cream today.... haven't made it before...fingers are crossed.

I am trying my hand at a collage.... this is my first attempt... the left picture I took yesterday in the rain... the other... well you have seen it before.

    Have a great day.

    Good morning,

The summer heat has arrived.  We should have a comfortably warm week with sunny skies and possibly a thunderstorm for good measure.

We enjoyed the birthday brunch and then headed to DS's apartment for a BBQ.  Lots of yummies there and the birthday cake was deeelicious!!

DH and brother are busy all day with bringing DH's new to him combine home.  Wonder what I'll find to keep myself 'out of trouble'?  There's grass to mow, laundry to attend to, and maybe arrange a lunch with a recently retired friend and shopping in the air conditioning.  So many choices.......

Hugs to those that could use them.  Hope this Monday goes well for each of you.

Good morning all. Still not looking good with the river. They are adding gabion sand filled bags along one of the streets on the north shore. We drove by there yesterday, and the river was so high! They are supposed to take care of low lying areas with these bags. Not sure where they will put them. I did hear that in 99, there was sand burms on our street, so whether that goes on here again, I don't know. I want hubby to move our trailer to my dad's. That way if the water gets that high, that we have to turn the gas and power off, we will have our trailer to sleep in at dad's. We will see when he decides it is time. At least , for us, the rain held off yesterday...but not around us.

I have kept up with my laundry..doing small loads downstairs. I don't want to be packing large loads of clothes down into the water floors.

Managed to get the lawn mowed yesterday too. It was sure wet when I did it, but still mowed it.

Huggs to all the ladies who are needing them. I know I appreciate them as well. Thanks for all the good thoughts!

Good Morning...the sun is shining! It is currently 14*C and we are expecting about 24, so it looks great!

I'm up a little earlier than usual. Did a lot of sleeping since Saturday morning. My body was groaning this morning from lying down so much.

Today I plan to work a bit in the garden shed. It needs to be tidied up. Lots of flower pots have to go, as well as brittle icecream pails, so DH is driving the lawnmower out so I don't break my neck in there. Then he's off to work. I need to plant green onions, tomatoes and a few more flowers.

And then I want to do a little in the garage, where there's more garden pots and such. Once the shed is tidied I can move any garden supplies from the garage to the shed. That'll free up some shelving. And I need to give the washer there a good scrubbing out. DH washes his filthy coveralls in there and his quilted shirts.

DD2 is holidaying in Ontario and enjoying the heat and humidity. She thrives on it. Too bad she can't bottle it and release it around her as needed. She's meeting a lot of our extended family, and having a blast.

    Have a lovely day, ladies!

Good morning!  It's windy here.  It looks like it could rain, but it's not suppose to.  We certainly have not had the rain that EMC has, it rains all around us, but not directly here.  Yesterday there was a farmer in the field and a plum of dust was around his tractor.  We have had lots of rain, but no matter how much rain we get the ground is just dry!  We did have a nice warm weekend of camping, a few wee sprinkles.  Went camping with a family that we are only starting to get to know, and our girls hit it off really well, infact, Kaeli invited the girl to her sleepover tonight.  This girl is starting in our school in fall, so this sleepover will introduce her to her classmates.  Unfortunately, Sat night we had to listen to some serious partying ggoing on, we were mad.  The park warden had been such an amazing guy the way he took car of the campsite.  But on Sat late night, he joined a group of partiers.  There will be several formal complaints going out, including one from me today.

Sorry to hear of people going thru the tough times.  i can't complain right now, just waiting on moving and waiting for nice weather and waiting for payday.  Tyypical life stuff, nothing mind bending!

Well, I got the shed tidied and swept. Lots outta there and going to the landfill, some stuff will be burned. My body is rebelling now, so the rest will have to wait for another day. Sheesh...this body just doesn't have the get up and some of you have...I can only wish.

It's 25 C. here now and still sunny. I think I'll sit for awhile in my recliner with my feet up on pillows and either snooze or read. This old body needs a rest. I feel as though I got run over by a truck. I took some MSM before I went out, and some pain killers after a nice warm shower. Working outside does this to me evert time.

Might make a trip into town after awhile. DH will likely not make it home for supper, being out of town today.
