We were at the airport just before 6 this morning! Hard to say bye to your kids. Not sure when we will see him again, but it was wonderful to have him home. Plus it was so good to meet his gf too.
We had a lovely dinner out last night with him, his gf and her parents. They are very nice people, and easy to chat with. And of course, this morning at the airport, all us girls were teary eyed!
So 2 beds have fresh sheets on them now. And the last of the used sheets are in the dryer. I just got home from Safeway. Had to pick up a few things. Nice to go when it is so quiet out in the store! Felt strange though...as this is a Thursday when I would normally be there shopping for seniors. Next week, we will!
We have company arriving before noon today. They will be here overnight before continuing on their way home. They will have MIL with them. I managed to snag her a ride home with them. They are all in Vernon right now with other family. Nice that MIL can ride home with them instead of on the bus. Sounds like bus schedules are horrible right now anyhow.
Well, I should really do something else to prepare. Bathrooms are cleaned already, but perhaps some dusting. I will see if I really feel like it. lol

I did post this morning but it dissappeared, and I didn't have time to repost. I fasted for over 12 hours to go for blood work, went to the clinic and thay are closed till the 29th. Geez I missed my coffee early this morning,
We had a snow storm yesterday got about 15cm (6 inches), its mild right now but last night it was blowing the snow, making visibility poor to drive, many accidents. We stayed homeand didn't go out at all. Smart people to stay home when the weather is nasty., we did some shovelling but had to quit,my muscles are not as good anymore. Called at DS place to come and finish it for us. Does the snow ever stick to Lexi's legs, she brings in big clumps of snow, I try to get it off her fur, it doesn't always work. I have my mop handy to pick up the melted snow.
It is hard to say good bye to your son Eija, I cry everytime I say good bye to mine. We don't see him very often, hope to see him next year at Christmas......that would be great.
Pat, still so cold at your place? When you said it was -48C that is hard to imagine how cold that is....WOW how can anything survive in that extreme cold?

Good morning my dear ladies! YF, I'm sorry, but I laughed that you missed your morning coffee! I know, I know, it's terrible to forgo, but it's not the worse thing either. DH has been having his dizzy spells again, and is now again off coffee, he's gone 48 hours without coffee so hopefully it will be helpful again. So when he is home, I don't even make coffee, so when he went off to work at 10 this morning, I made me a cup of java! Mmmm, it's good, but I can survive actually not too bad, I found out!
EMC, I think you will love your new kitchen set! But until it gets installed, have you bought and used the dishwasher cleaner, it's a little blue box of detergent, you put it in the dishwasher all by itself and run a full cycle. It sure helped my dishwasher, my dishes were not coming clean anymore, so I used the product, I believe it is made by finish, you can find it where you buy your dishwasher detergent for a few bucks. It's suppose to be used about once a month! As for your new appliances, I bought some Ultimate Cloths online (from the maritimes) and I used those for cleaning my appliances. Kept them looking new without any of the cleaners it came with. Those cleaners are fine to use on occasion, but are a bit of work. I use the Ultimate cloth at my clients house also, so easy to just wipe away the finger prints. no problem! You'll love your self clean! Just remember if it's a big mess to scrape out the worse of it, as it will smoke somthing horrible, cause it just burns it out. I like to clean when I can have the windows open and no kids at home. I usually plan to leave shortly after starting the cycle. I like to keep an eye on it for the first bit when it smokes the worst. I've never had any problems! Convection, it's nice, but it's not perfect. I used it more to hurry things up, then to bake many pans at a time. The front of the oven bakes much quicker, so a pan of cookies may be done in the front but not yet in the back, it can be annoying until you learn how to use it. Always use a lower temp, that for sure! I miss my lovely appliances!
We got invited out for supper tonight at friends house, kids are excited, those are the kids I used to babysit, it will be a great night out for the whole family!
Good evening! Bitter cold here. It's supposed to warm up bigtime by tomorrow afternoon. -27 here this afternoon. Going up to -9 by Friday afternoon. That's a big improvement...we will see. Hard to imagine. Had a problem getting a fire in the woodstove. Needed to use paper towelssheets soaked in old cooking oil between the kindling and blocks of wood that wouldn't catch earlier. Then I lit the paper and turned on an oscillating fan at it and it finally got going. Everything was open so it was getting air. It's such a lovely heat, but some would go bonkers with the wood ash everywhere. I just put up with it...otherwise it would take away my enjoyment of its heat.
We are looking forward to another quiet evening. It's too cold to go out anywhere.
