It isn't Good Morning as yet but I thought I'd start the new day early since I have a difficult time getting to post early enough so that most of you get to see my post. You are such early birds & one needs to be up with the canaries. So, Bonjour to your all & may your day pa out to be your very best day with Mother Nature cooperating.
Aleida, you had a might fine bunch of strawberries. I hope to be so lucky getting some. No picking for me but the road sides stands do supply lovely berries. Your strawberry/rhubarb pie sounds like just the ticket.
Maria, I hope your day is cooler & so you can get our with Lexi for a walk or not. Going when it's sweltering is just no fun.
Pat will be heading out on a camping trip. would be nice if they missed all the wet spots. Char too will thinking of getting loaded & away . Enjoy your jaunts. I'll be happy to stay home by the lake with my creature comforts. Camping was never my thing. A Hilton would be what I'd like! Easy to please! LOL
JP, do you have a full slate of working days this week? Must be the devil having to work when the weather is nice & to add to the discomfort of the sore tootsies makes it less enjoyable.
Running Diva enjoy your indoor or outdoor chores whatever weather decided to show up.
It's thundering just now & would be nice to have clear skies tomorrow while we go to town & attend to a few errands & those darn expensive groceries!
Have a good one all. Will check up on you during some point in the day.
Night?Good Morning! :)
Angela
Good morning ladies,
Angela, I tried to post the sunny morning picture was not able to do it. Glad you got it, a bright smiley sun. Not as hot today more to my liking, now if we could only have a good downpour everything will be great.
Aleida, nice looking berries, and they are so yummy. The local ones are the best, juicy and have a great taste. When we buy the ones during the winter they are dry and not much flavour.A well organized group of ladies, who work good together. A great looking picture of you yesterday eh? LOL
Eija, did you receive the parcel? Are you all set to go out camping again? Take me with you, I want to go, to see the beauty of BC. Never been there, and my dream is to go to see BC and at the complete opposite endof the country NFLD. There is so much to see in our own country, from coast to coast.
Noudder a man without a watch, just doesn't work. All they do is look at their wrist and no watch.
Char, its funny how much rain the ground will absorb, especially when its dry. Are you enjoying making extra money, I miss mine. I told André that I should maybe find a couple of jobs of cleaning, but he prefers that I don't work anymore. Yes I have enough to do here, pretty well everything is done by me. Are you getting ready for camping? How are the kids doing? I love to hear stories about them, and Dan how are things with him? So you have a box no. to get your mail? Ours get delivers at the door, two bills yesterday, union gas and cable.
We haven't seen Anica lately, Dory should be back home.
Have a wonderful day ladies,
YF
Good morning ladies.... although I think I hear Angela snoring....LOL
We spent most of the day in the vehicle yesterday. We drove to Sundridge and got our cherry tomato (tumbler tomato) plant and one for David's sister also.
Isn't she a beaut??? Look at all the flowers. Difficult to see but there are also a few small fruit already. These tomatoes give us so much fruit. We put it by the front door and I can grab some leaving the house and again when I go back in... YUM!! We also bought some phlox... it had the name "DAVID" .... so I could not resist.
Today I am go to the Lioness hall in Washago because they are having another Court Whist event.... so much fun.... cards, lunch, and more cards. They plan to do more than one a year now because they find it an easier way to earn money than to have to sell tickets on whatever.... so true.... it is a real PITA to sell quilt tickets.
Have a wonderful day everyone. Hopefully you can enjoy the weather... it is supposed to be gorgeous here today.
And Tiffany... has a real bad.... horrible .... case of hives. (first time ever) Any suggestions for relief??? And this is caused by an allergy??? .... something she ate????? How long will she have to suffer before she is better???? I feel just terrible for her. I know she is going to have to figure out what caused it... so she can prevent it from happening again.
Good Morning! The sun is shining here but we do expect showers. I love both siggies today. May I snag them please?
Hope Tiffany's hives are not shingles, Aleida. Those are soooo painful. If it's hives, I would take a good antihistamine for relief, but check with the pharmacist if she's on any other meds... for compatibility.
I am working today but this week is lighter than most. And yes, Angela, the tootsies are a plague. It's a relief to stay off them when I can. We are not campers, either. And when we travel we prefer to stay in motels. You can stay in a lot of motels and eat in many restaurants for the price of a 5th wheeled camper or motorhome. We don't have the funds for one of those. People have a lot of money tied up in those things.
Wish I could've slept longer but DH asked me for his watch, which was still at the bottom of my purse after I got it rebanded yesterday. He's usually very quiet n the morning but this morning he was rattling about in the bedroom, so I woke up and needed to make a pit stop. That's when he asked for his watch. Guess it's my problem that I forgot to give it to him yesterday. He probably feels bad now that he asked as he knows how hard it is for me to fall asleep again. Oh well, it is what it is.
Wishing you all a good day!
Good morning ladies....rainy here...sounded like it was raining everytime I woke up last night too. We have rain forecast for the day with the chance of a thunderstorm at some point. That can stay away as far as I am concerned.
Have to whip out this morning..to the bank and to get my lottery tickets. Can't win if you don't buy. lol
Then this afternoon, I have a Senior's Outreach Society 25th anniversary tea to go to. I am picking up a couple of ladies...easier to park one car than 3 or 4. I have been asked to stand up on behalf of the shopping volunteers and say a few words. Now if you know me personally, you know I do not like that kind of stuff, especially when there are 75+ people attending. I will take a deep breath and work my way through it. lol
Maria, the parcel was here very early yesterday morning...the guy knocked on my door at 7:50 am..so I didn't have to wait long at all
Aleida, nice looking strawberries!
Noudder, yes, you can stay in a lot of hotels for the price of a 5th wheel. I used to feel that way, but this way we can get to the campgrounds and sit around a campfire and just relax. We enjoy it very much! I don't feel guilty about sitting around reading a book all day or whatever we do. :O)
Angela, hope your weather improves.
Well, better go have my shower. Hope you all enjoy your day!
We've had the rain but now we need some heat. The tomatoes etc are just sitting there doing nothing. It has been so wet here that last few years. The water table is the highest it's been since anyone can remember. Many people have problems with water in their basements that never have before. One of my friends lives in the farmhouse that her DH grew up in and they have never had water before.
I'm afraid I haven't gotten very far with my cleaning as there always seems to be appointments and meetings that take me away from it. Hoping today will be the day I make some headway. Of course I will have to take some time off to go for lunch with a friend that is moving away next w/e.
My DH is a pack rat and he saves every box that he ever bought anything in. Yesterday I went through them all and I found a couple from things I know for sure we no longer have. Then I phoned my DS and went through the rest with him. All the things that were his he said I could garage sale or throw away. These are boxes for electronic equipment for the computer (sound cards, video cards etc), music equipment etc. Most of them were empty except for the sales receipt, sometimes a cable or something like that.
I will be having some surgery in two weeks and I need to get all this stuff done before as I will be out of commission for a while. Speaking of surgery Norma is doing well after hers. I was going walking with her most days but haven't seen her since the rain started. I need to call her again soon.
Have a great day!
Good morning! It's a cool breeze out there, brrr. Today is my private jet apartment, I have no clue what I'm getting myself into, other then I know new construction and it's a dusty mess! I hope there aren't too many windows, those are probably the hardest to clean. I spent about $86 on cleaning supplies last night for this house. She wanted me to buy everything includeing broom and mop and bucket and such, and leave it at the apartment for whoever is going to be staying there, that's nice.
YF, from my experience, rhubarb it's first year doesn't get that big. It takes time to grow those big fat juicey stalks, maybe next year. I'd send you plenty, but it would go to mush in the mail!
Nouder, we have never spent over $3,000 on a holiday trailer, and the one we have now is a 25 foot fifth wheel, it's very bright and it's very nice, we got family pricing, heck, we got family pricing on both trailers we've bought so far, nothing like buying from relatives! We just find it so relaxing going out to the lake, getting away from it all. Our usuall weekend camping costs us $32 in fee and the gas, which is about the same. Can't take the kids swimming in PG for that price and it's an entire weekend, usually with friends. So we can justify it, but I agree that some people have huge amounts invested in their homes on wheels, it's crazy!
Now I'm wondering if I wished Pat a happy birthday yesterday? I meant to, I remember leaving early, but I rmemeber having good intentions, will have to check that, but for now, I guess I need to get my moves on!
Good morning, thought it was time to check in! I seem to have missed several birthdays here, so hope each of you had a marvellous day and were treated like the royalty you are!
Grrr, how I wish this rain would stop! Now that I am able to walk a bit farther, being stuck inside gives me wicked cabin fever. I never realized how much time I spend outdoors until my ability to be out there is limited. RD comes and walks with me sometimes (so thankful!) and my DDs try, I reserve the last one of the evening for DH. But the family rule is I need someone with me because my BP has been wonky since I got home and it gets real low without reason, without warning and then I just feel yuck.
DH has been working like crazy in the yard, moving plants, taking out some wooden fence, replaced it with metal. The back yard looks wonderful now. The previous owner of this house was a senior lady who hadn't planted anything for years, not even any perennials. We are getting plenty of comments on our front yard too, as our house is very visible as people head out east of Nipawin, especially towards Tobin Lake.
Hope all you campers have a great time. We likely won't head out until I can do the crawl (sort of) exercise. Our trailer is a 5th wheel so I need a little more movement for getting in and out of bed.
Aleida, those tomato plants look great! We have 2 grape tomato plants in the garden, and the girls cut back on the peppers, only 8 plants this year instead of 20. I hope those of you in the East get some rain soon, I know how disheartening it is to watch things just get drier and drier.
I have learned the hard way to abide by the sitting limit so I need to go wander around the house....or lie down and watch a little telly....waiting until one of the girls gets home to start the walking! Have a good day.
Norma
