    Good morning ladies,

It was great for sleeping a cooler night....loved it while it lasts. Starting tomorrow back to another heat wave.

Today is our oldest son's birthday 44 years, where did the time go? He is always there for us, a good son. If he is 44 what does that mean for us...yes we are getting older. Last Sunday was his DW birthday, so we are taking them out for dinner tomorrow night .

Aleida, so kind of you to be involved with the church, and to work together making meals, what a nice group of women who works so nice together. Making your own ice-cream, you are pretty clever. A beautiful collage Aleida, a job well done. How did you do that? I think every season has its own beauty.

Pat, did you get all your chores done yesterday? If not there is always today and tomorrow. Are you liking the summer heat?

Eija, sorry about all the water, if I could fix it I would. BUT you know there is another woman involved who is in charge of the weather. Hope it clears up soon very soon.

Noudder good for you to tackle the shed/garage, it does need to be done occasionally. André does our garage, that is his, I do the rest. So your DD2 love it here in Ontario in the heat...wow. more to come by Thursday and the weekend.

Char, there are always people who spoil it for others, including noise due to parties and booze. It is tough when you have children and they need to get to sleep.  How are the kids? Dan must be very busy in the summers. Have you heard about your mobile home coming soon? It would be nice to have your own place. It must be difficult to live with someone else even if its your mom. Better to be on your own.

    Have a wonderful day ladies.

    Good morning ladies.

Yes, Maria it is cooler... nice... but I'm finding it difficult as to which covers to keep on the bed.  Twice now I have put the down comforter away... probably would have enjoyed it last night.

The ice cream was yummy... and very easy to make.... simply combine a few ingredients the night before... leave in the fridge... and the next day pour into the ice cream maker (garage sale find) leave for about 20 minutes... and done.  One of the ladies asked that I find her an ice cream maker at a yard sale because she said her grandchildren would love it... okay... another thing on my list... I do see them but not that often... nothing like breadmakers... four to five of those each week.

A nothing-I-have-to-do day for me... haven't planned it yet.  Have a nice dinner out Maria.

    Good morning,

It will be a challenge to stay comfortable today.  Our temperatures should rise to the low thirties but the winds are to be very strong.  I don't do well with temperatures much over 25C.  I told DH earlier that I may head for AC this afternoon.   I will be hoping for a thunderstorm to cool things down this evening--rain but no ice!!!

I got the big half of the grass cut but it will be too hot to continue that job today.  I did up several little jobs and of course, the list of to dos is still long.  I will never be caught up I'm afraid.  I have two lifetimes of projects in queue.

Enjoy your unplanned day Aleida and enjoy the birthday dinner YF.

Waving hello to others coming later.

Good morning ladies and those to follow.

My DH was up very early had breakfast by 5 am and then is back to bed.  Our Dr. appt yesterday confirmed that his problems right now are the reation to codine and just have to wait to clear.  He is waiting now for an appt with a neurologist.  His Dr. has a feeling that he might have early signs of Parkinsons so just have to wait for confirmation.  I'm not sure what to think right now, just wait and see.

Our weather here is so changable but this am I am needing to get out and mow the lawn.  Sure hope the rain holds off.  I am having to learn lots of new things now that DH usually does but that is life.

As I said to the Dr yesterday, I have had to deal with DH's AS for over 30 years, know every joint and what to do to help him manage his pain but this mind mix-up is all new and I have to learn to adjust once again.

Thank you all for being here for me to vent.  Pillena

I had some surgery last week .  You can email me or PM on Facebook if you want details, I don't really want to go into it on here.  During the past 3 weeks I went through every room, drawer, closet, shed and yard and cleaned and organized it all.   I wanted to get it done so I could rest now but I am really bored.  My DH has been really good and he won't let me do anything.  I think it is more tiring sitting around doing nothing but read, sleep and play computer games.

Noudder I understand completely.  I was so worn out by the time we went to the city for my surgery - it felt so good to be done it all and just sit.

Aleida, my bread machine went on the fritz and we found one just like it at Value Village.  We bought it for parts but it works so I am using it.  I just use it to make the dough and then I bake in the oven.  I couldn't believe how dirty it was.  Do people have no pride in anything?  I would never sell anything that dirty at a garage sale or give it away without cleaning it up.

I have some recipes to make ice cream without an ice cream maker.  I haven't made them in years though.

We had a thunderstorm last night but it was as bad as they were predicting.

Good morning ladies...well, we are expecting the river to rise 2 feet in the next 24-36 hours.  Yikes!

My house just smells damp. It will take a long time to dry it out after the water is gone, I think.

This is just so depressing. I think if I had a job where I was out of the house more, I would be able to handle it better. But being home most of the time, I hear the noise, and see the water. Makes me realize the work that is to come, plus the holiday we were supposed to go on this Saturday is not going to happen.   :(

I think a trip to the grocery store this morning. I need some fresh fruit and veggies. Might wash my duvet cover as well. May as well while I can still get into the basement to use the machines.

Hope you all have a good day!

    Maria, you are still young!

    Pillena, thinking of you.

RD, hope your recovery is quick

Pat, we have a thunderstorm in the forecast for today, but we don't want it right about now!

Aleida, I don't change my bedding for winter or summer. Hubby likes the weight of the duvet we use, so I just push it off me most of the time. I would rather have something much lighter, but...

Big hugs to you emc.  I know too well the after effects of water in the basement.  I'll happily take some of the extra rains so the river doesn't rise.  Our crops are very thirsty and would welcome the moisture.  We seem to be in a rather dry pocket and have been getting only a fraction of the rains others are getting.  There's both good and bad in that.

Hugs Pillena.  Life has a way of throwing curves at us.  You will adjust.  Sending good thoughts your direction.

May the recovery go well RD.  Sounds like you could use some more low key projects while you heal.  Variety is the spice of life.

I still have bathrooms and dusting to get done and then I'll sit in front of the fan and do some detail work on a craft project.  More of the ducklings will get eyes!!  I have a bin of 75 blind duckling finger puppets needing some time and effort.

Wow, a busy little corner on this cool wet morning!  EMC, I woke up to news that the rivers should crest again in the next little while, always going up and down, hopefully the rains stop soon, BC has had a lot of rain!  We got a scattered shower today again, just enough to make the grass wet, but not the garden.

YF, happy birthday to your DS, I know he must be a pride and joy for his parents!  Glad you got a cooler nights sleep.

RD, good luck sitting around for the next while, you can catch up on reading or whatever it is you like to do but usually can't.  Maybe watch reruns on tv, LOL.

Pillena, hope that the meds get sorted out and stuff starts to make sense again.

Well, yesterday we finally had the girls over for Kaeli's birthday sleepover.  7 girls total.  We did a spa night, but the hairdresser coudln't come cause she messed up her leg so badly she is on crutches and has to go to physio therapy!  She was so disappointed (kaeli's aunt)  But they all got their toes done and ate food and watched Chasing Liberty till 2am.  2 girls have left so far.  One girl will be here til the afternoon, Randene and her did a switch, so Randene is with her best friend right now.  The girls beat up Zac, or at least they tried, he could fend off two girls at a time, but three was too many for him!  All the girls are 12 and 13!  Now I need to make some bread and maybe some other baking as well, a perfect day to bake.

Running by to say HI! 24*C here under sunny skies.

Congratulations with your son's birthday, and his DW earlier. Enjoy the celebrations. Nice that they live nearby and you have a good relationship. Family support is so important! I remember that when we were in Ontario 2 years ago we had to juggle times a bit to visit with you because June is such a busy time for you. But we did manage and it's so great to have had a chance to meet.

Aleida, enjoy your unplanned day. Just go with the flow. Nice to be retired and still have $$$ coming in every month. I'm sure you are getting a good pension after teaching for so long.

Pillena, what is AS? I'll be praying for you both. We know who is in control of all things in our lives.

Eija, I can't imagine your water situation. It must be very frustrating...sounds as though you've gone through this before, but the dampness must be difficult to live in, and your patience is tried to the limit. Sending you another hug as you wait this out.

Pat, I wish I had your energy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

}}}}}RD{{{{{{...sending you good vibes as you recover from your surgery. You suggested the special shoes...Mephisto. I cannot wear a thong between my toes, and I cannot have shoes with velcro closure. I have $375 orthotics. Maybe I should try out a pair anyways...(order them from Sears) to see if I can have a break from the orthotics once in awhile, like on a Sunday...I wear a dress or skirt to church so it would have to work with that. It would be so much easier to find comfy shoes wearing pants but I haven't come that far yet.. Still, for the tootsies I wish I could find something a little more dressy and at the same time comfortable. Can't put those orthotics in sandals.

Tornados, ladybug? No, no, no. Hope they don't reach you and no rocks, either. I did hear the weather in your part of SK is very unsettled. Stay safe!

Wish I could bake bread again  Char, but my oven is on the fritz and we haven't had a chance to bring the stove in to be repaired. It has something to do with power surges. Argh! Could you send me some of your yummy baking?  LOL

Once I've cleared the lunch stuff off the table I'll be going out on my deck to plant the flowers, tomatoes and the onions. Sheesh, I've lost one of my supertunias in a planter...throws the whole thing off-kilter. May have to check at the greenhouse for a replacement.

    Have a great day!
