I'm off early this morning to go and see my DB, first picking up my other DB/SIL. Another hot one for us, what else is new? Really getting fed up with this, I've had enough.

It was hazy when I awoke this morning. The sun was also a brilliant flaming red--showing a temper as it got up. There's no rain forecast here just sunny and hot all week. Anything I accomplish will be done in front of the fan. In fact, we used 3 fans in the bedroom last night. I slept the deepest i have inn ages.

Good morning ladies...hubby is back at work today after a long weekend. Not sure if he will work Saturday or not. Depends on the situation in the basement. So far we can't do anything. The water is still running. The river has only gone down a few cm's a day because of all the rain this weekend.
Noudder, Kamloops is normally a very dry city. We are often starting to turn brown in the hillsides by the middle of July. This year, we will be green for much longer. The amount of rain this June was exceptional. We thought we were going to be ok with no river flooding until about the middle of June when the rains were crazy. Huge downfalls in the area which brought Shuswap Lake up to a 40 year high. This lake flows into the South Thompson river which flows through Kamloops. Plus the other river than comes into Kamloops has high snow packs that we had to worry about. Those didn't melt normally...way too slow, so that when they finally melted, that brought a lot of water into the North Thompson river. These two rivers merge just up river from us, and they become the Thompson river. This is the river that flows past us. Our street in along the river, but we are not on the river ourselves. We have a low basement, and it is the high ground water that we are dealing with in the basement. The garden dh was weeding, is higher than the water levels. The only part we are dealing with as far as water is concerned, is our basement.

Good morning, it's Tuesday, the long weekend is done. We stayed here, didn't take our trailer anywhere except to get the bumper fixed so we can pack the kids bikes along again, it broke on our vancouver trip and pakcing bikes without a rack is a big pain!! So yea, we were here, dan was mr grumpy pants, full moon you know and the stress of everything, and our very close friends, his dad is on life support, we were suppose to go camping with them. They were on their way to the campground when his mom called and said they needed to come. Infection that they think he may have gotten on the cruise they went on! It's tough watching your friends go thru this stuff. All they know is the dr said it could go either way, but last night he was put on life support. I think he is around 65. The friends are our age.
Today the trailer is suppose to arrive! Praying that it does and all goes well, I havent heard anyting yet, wether the truck is on it's way or what. It's a waiting game I guess today.
We did have a wonderful BBQ and deep fry with Dan's siblings, so much food again! Dan deepfriend chicken wings and I BBQ a salmon that he caught last fall. And there were ribs and burgers and salads and fruit and dessert and pots of coffeee! It ended with the fireworks at 11. Fireworks have to be that late due to it doesn't get dark till then, and even then it's not black, but dark enough for them to be gorgeous over the river!
Well, the girls are at a sleepover and Zac is still asleep on the couch, guess I'll go have a shower now.
I'm back home, my DB isn't doing too bad, but next week back to chemo. We'll see how that goes the last three times he was so sick from it. We drove to his town and when we got back my older DB bought us supper. It was nice to get together with my two brothers and have one more in Alberta.
Can you believe it we got rain today and still raining nearly an inch or 2.5cm. Yeah I'm so happy, its a million dollar rain. Sorry for you Eija, that your rain won't stop. Too much of anything is no good. Hope the water will recede very soon for you, and give yourselves time to dry out.
Pat, try to stay cool and drink plenty of water, I did say water not beer. A cool beer is good too....lol.
Char, I 'm so happy for you to finally getting your mobile home, it was a long wait. How soon will you be moving in? Are the kids excited to be moving into a new home? Poor Dan all work and no play makes Dan a Mr. grumpy pants....lol.

It's here, it's arrived,it's on the land, and Dan is getting ready to hoook up the water and sewer so we can move in! Won't have hydro this week, except for an extension cord running to the land, but that's okay, I'll live half in my holiday trailer, half in my mobile home! Pics are on facebook. And get this, the amount they charged was what they quoted us for, go figure! A first for us in a long time, everyone bills us for more then their quotes it seems, always some hidden fees, not these guys, we wold recommend them any dya!
Well, good your brother is doing a bit better this time. I wonder if often the treatment of cancer often causes more harm then the cancer itself? I know they say radiation is often the cause of death and some doctors say it's barbaric, and chemo is so hard on the body too, it's amazing what we can survive!
I gotta get busy!
