Hello everyone; I hope all are okay from the storms. Does anyone know if we have heard if all are okay???? I like you Rosie wish we could control the weather. Think of all we could do!!! It has been crazy here for 3 days. My D stayed 2 nights and was sick, you k from the pain pills. So when I finally convinced her that what was making her sick, and it all came out of her stomach, I gave her a dose of Pepto and in 30 minutes she was fine. Well except for some swelling in her jaws. She looked like a chipmonk. lol She did get off of the couch yesterday morning and go to work. Miss J. checked on her last night and she was fine. Anyway after all that me and Miss J. were worn out, so she and I just haung out and watched a movie and later tye dyed 2 shirts. Brought back a few memories.

LITTLE DITTY from mel'skitchen
Just because the doctor has a name for your condition doesn't mean he knows what it is.
LITTLE OLD DITTY
Wanted: Bonded escort, silver- haired (not dyed), two days a week for three active ladies eighty-plus. Should look rich (but not too rich). Politically conservative. Good bridge player and Waltzer. Sharp enough to handle six bingo cards at once. Prefer chauffeur's license, L.P.N. and Black Belt in Karate.
BULLETIN BLOOPERS from Miss J.
The pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the congregation would lend him their electric girdles for the pancake breakfast next Sunday.
I had my breakfast. Still celebrating "Pig Day" with a gf biscuit and bacon. LOL
I'm sooooo thankful to see you check in LOIS. The destruction over the past few days is just heartbreaking.
Been wondering about some of our other friends on this group.
NAN~~If your okay, please check in. I am not sure what part of the state you are in. I know PAT is far enough away that she was okay.
Also, PENNY~~How are things in your area?
I've been wringing my hands over every one of my online friends until we get the 'all-is-well' from them.
BRENDA~~I'm with you on the lamb and veal. Just cannot do it. I know that many love it and rave over the flavor but I haven't touched it since I found out I was unknowingly eating my favorite calf when I was a kid. That did it! Talk about traumatized.
Oh ROSIE~~Add that to my list of "gag". LOL
If you run out of projects you can help me shovel a path to NANCY Z's house.
NANCY Z~~I heard that you got more snow than we did. Lucky you. 'grin' It will all melt in a couple of days. High 40's coming and it will be soaking into the ground. My dad used to call this early spring snow "liquid gold". He claimed it held more nutrition than 'other' snow. No scientific reason for that one but I know we need the moisture this year.
NANCY B~~I think I'll be giggling about that cabbage for a long time.
EGEE~~I told my hubby that my sinus and head are better than any barometer. Hate that your hurting.
Glad to hear all is well with your family in those storms.
MARGARET~Have a nice day with your visitors. You certainly do a lot for and with your friends. They are blessed to have you in their lives.
Oh ANN~~I love most things Chinese. Love, love, love one dish in particular though. It is going to be spelled wrong but here goes....Mei Fun. I order it without the eggs in it. It can be vegetarian or with chicken or shrimp. Don't care how, just love it. That has the rice noodles in it.
I love to hear about what your cooking. You do some very interesting dishes.
My DH has been a happy camper lately as I've gotten a streak of experimenting in the kitchen and every dish has been spot on and a keeper. As to opposed to the times he says, "Don't bother making THIS again."
I think his favorite this week was sweet and sour chicken although he actually groaned when he ate the walleye. LOL
ZORA~~The church our son goes to has a lot of sportsmen in the congregation and every year they put on a "Wild Game Feed" and invite the guys from the community. They get a huge turnout. They have a guest speaker each year who relates stories of hunting and fishing to his faith. My DH says it is done up so nicely and hasn't heard a negative comment yet. They get to try a lot of wild game and fish that way along with other dishes and desserts brought in.
Waving to you CILLA~~I hope that you can get a good nap in sometime today.
MEL~~Your poor daughter. UGH
Mel, oh Mel. New underware is what you treat yourself to when you have no hooks left to 'hook' on your bra and so many holes in the panties that you miss the leg hole every time you put them on.
Just renewed my supply awhile ago. 'grin'
I really should get something done that makes it look like I haven't been sittin' on the computer all morning. DH will be home in a couple of hours so there is still time.
Wishing you all a spectacular day. I'll be checking off and on to see if all our friends report in.
Tippy
Morning everybody.
We were predicted to get between 4 & 6 inches yesterday but I think we might have only gotten a bit over 2. No complaints here. Yesterday when we started home about 1 after lunch and errands, the snow was coming out of the North and coming sideways. That makes driving hard to see. Glad when we got home. Dh has been out already this morning and did the drive and cleaned off his car. The sun has since come out and even though it's only in the upper 20's, it appears to be melting out. Everything was cancelled yesterday afternoon and evening.
Glad to see the storms weren't too bad for our CS family. Those tornadoes are really starting early and I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. The wind was fairly heavy here last night and about 7 one of our local stations went off the air and were out all night. On the news one of the other stations said the wind had made the tv tower start leaning so they went off the air and evacuated about 15 homes around them just in case the tower went over. They're still off this morning but nothing was reported in the paper about it so guess the tower just leaned and guess they must be propping it back up now.
Tippy, Pat and I live in the same area, we're only about 15 miles from each other.
Tippy and Rosie, WhoooooHooooo. I'll bet you both can't wait for the end of March to get here. So happy for both of you but color me "jealous". LOL. Well Tippy did you venture out last night for Chinese?
We Northern girls do the "clean the house" thing before we go away also.
Pat, prayers and hugs going out to your dgd and dggd. Blueberry pancakes, sounds good to me. I haven't had them in ages.
Mary sorry about Bogey, hard on you I know but better for him. We never like to see our fur babies suffer and never like to see them leave either.
Angel sends a welcome to Lucy.
Bought a corn beef at the store this week. Will get cabbage, only 1 head, LOL in a couple of weeks. We like it so will make it either Sat. or Sun of that week. Ds and dil both like it but the gkids don't so will cook it when they aren't at their dad's. Ds has been sick since Thurs. He called at noon and sounded awful, said he was running a fever and coughing. Told him to get his butt to the emergency clinic, he has asthma and doesn't need anything to settle in his chest. He called yesterday around noon and said he'd been to the clinic and he has a bad case of influenza, they gave him a script for cough med and antibiotic and even wrote a script for dil(she wasn't with him) to take for 10 days, they said it's very contagious and she needed to be on antibiotics so she didn't catch it from him. He did sound better yesterday afternoon when I talked to him
Ah Tippy nice pictures. Love to look at those pictures but sure don't like having to go out in it. That St. Patrick's Day flag sure did stand out in the non-colored world you have this morning. How much did you get? I see NancyZ said they got 6 1/2. Guess you guys got more then we did this time.
Ann sorry about the gutter and light damage from the ice.
I know Penny was supposed to be taking the gkids to the circus this morning so hopefully they have gone. I know parts of IND got hit with tornadoes but haven't looked to see where Penny lives in respect to where they hit. I got an e-mail from my cousin this morning so know she is ok. She lives outside of Indianapolis.
Need to get a load of towels in the washer so best get a move on.
Have a great day all.
Nan
Morning all, Well, the sun must have gotten other ideas in the few miles between Nan's and here as we haven't seen it. A few flakes are flying around, but don't think that they will amount to much. Charli has decided that she wants to build a snowman so out she went. I'm surprised she can walk with all the bundling up that she did. When Matt goes out I'll have him take the camera and see if he can get some pictures of her.
Haven't talked to DGD yet, but she didn't think the little one would get out of the hospital it at least Mon. This virus is really nasty for babies.
Still have some typing to do, but I can see the end in sight, only 12 more years. Of course then I'll have the proofing to do. With some of these names I'm sure that I missed some and of course my fingers don't always spell right.
Take care all. Pat
Hello ladies, Thought I would pop back in.
For Tom Selleck fans, the Hallmark Channel is running the Jesse Stone movies today.
Edgee - Glad your children are okay. We had a hard rain and some wind early morning that has been it so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that is as bad as it will get.
Rosie - I am like you I worry about the ladies here. The storms the last couple of days has been awful. I need to get a U.S. map and mark where everyone is so I will know how close they are to the storms.
Tippy - Don't know if anyone would be tired of waking up to that, but I sure would like to try it.
Cilla - Figured you were up also. Can't sleep when the weather is like this. Especially when my weather radio keeps going off.
Nancy Z. - I don't have a vacuum sealer, I always put my fish in a container covered them with water and froze them that way. Tasted like they were just caught. Now that you said you were going to be a "ding a ling I will have Chuck Berry's song "My Ding a Ling" going over in my mind all day.
Ann - I am sorry but wheat berries and goat cheese sorta leave me speechless.
Lois - Glad you were able to get on. So glad to see you.
Mel - Pain pills will make you sick. Glad DD got over it. Guess Miss J is feeling better also. Sure she enjoyed spending the night with her friend.
Penny - Oooooh, bad way to find out what veal was. I just think of them as dear sweet little baby animals.
Nan - I know you are all use to the snowy weather but I still have to tell you to be careful.
Pat - Kids and snow seem to go together.
See you all later.
Hugs, Brenda
Thanks, Brenda for the heads up on the Jesse Stone movies on Hallmark. We have been watching since early afternoon; they are in reverse order, though. We are now watching the first one that started at 6pm. Don't mind that at all; good stuff. Fun to try and recognize stuff from the "North Shore" of MA! See you all tomorrow.
Ann
Waving from the north. Other than some soft snow showers, we had a lovely day here. Was working and saw some horrific photos on the telly about the tornadoes that hit so many areas. It was with me all day and my thoughts winged to all the people affected and especially my CS friends. The first thing I did when I came home...like just now is check CS chat, to see if there was any word on their safety. So far all is well, it seems... I'm soooooo thankful for that.
Stay safe everyone! And, yes, a helmut is a great idea when you are in the path of a storm.
This evening we have a rotisserie chicken I picked up in town. I'm just too tired to cook tonight. I'm not sure whether we'll have spuds with that or pasta. I think I'll have a little rest first to clear my mind.
