We are slowly getting things packed up to get on the road again. Next stop, home. I think I've got one foot trying to hold us here....I'm like Brenda...hard to get back into the regular routine...errrrr
Later.... Waving to all.....
Good Morning Best Friends!!! Hoping all of you have a beautiful day and weekend. I have multiple best friends. A few years ago found one of mine (now deceased) was jealous when Jenny became another of my best friends. My theory, everyone needs all the best friends they can get.
Zora, June 10 is a special day! It is also my oldest dd's, BFC, birthday and was also dh's. Yes, BFC was born on her dad's birthday. She thinks she is quite special, being born on her father's birthday and having the names of both her grandmothers.
And the phones. I lost one late last summer, poked my hands in every chair and spot I could to no avail. UNTIL, the guys were moving the furniture into this apartment, three weeks ago, and it fell out of something as they were coming in. I have the three handsets too. Also have the 'finder buzzer' but the battery was dead in that one by the time I missed it so could never find it. I always have one 'plug in' phone connected because the cordless will not work if power goes off.
I am so bad about putting things down, thinking I wil remember where, and then can't find them.
Cilla, hope you all arrive home safely but still wish you were near here. Tell Eddie to start planning another trip soon.
Lois, the quilts are beautiful. I can see the quilting details. That is something I could never get patience to do. Sewed a lot but never like the handwork.
Hats, hate hats, can't stand anything on my head unless it is really cold and then I actually prefer ear muffs. Remember wearing scarves to school? My sister and I wore Navy Kerchiefs, our brothers were in the navy and gave us scarves. Think we were the only ones in school with those.
I do wear slacks, dress pants, to church on Sunday mornings, jeans at night. But, I still have a problem with the shorts, especially mornings.
Rosie, hope you are putting better this morning. Yikes, falls scare me at this age. That is one thing I became afraid of living alone and no family around. Easy to break bones.
I love to find animals and things in the clouds.
Need to get myself moving.
Good afternoon, heating up around here, have closed up the house & turned on the AC, we know how I don't like the heat/humidity.
Have cleaned both the bathrooms, mopped one of the floors, have the towels out on the line, ran with DH to get some more strawberries, sadly, the season is about finished around here, darn, just love those things. Also ran into town to the post office & recycled the newspapers, think that's about all I'm going to do today other than fix dinner, have a Grisham book waiting for me to read. I lead such an exciting life....LOL!
Zora....we've got a phone in about every room around here, all but one are corded, have the cordless in the family room, can't use the cordless when electricity goes out, so we keep the ones with the cords. Miss A finds them such fun when she's here, all she sees are cells. A big ole Happy Birthday to Bob on Sunday, hope he has a great day. Oh yes, chuckling to myself, my DD is never at a loss for words, bless her heart, she may be only 35 but she has an old soul....just doesn't think like the younger set, especially about raising Miss A.
Margaret....Too many people around here want to make your business theirs....DD having none of it....LOL!
Rosie....well darn it, sorry you had such a bad day yesterday, I'm sure you're searching the fields to find a burial spot for Walt.....LOL! This one got a little lippy with me a little bit ago.....he wanted me to drive back home after getting the strawberries, I have no sens of direction & he never goes the same way twice so I just don't pay any attention to where he's been or where we're going, just look at the scenery, he just thought I should know where I was I get back home....kind of poked at me a few times & laughed, kicker was when we got home & in the house, said now don't get lost in there.....I promptly told him to start balancing the checkbooks & hush! Is it any wonder DD is the way she is!?!??! LOL!!
NancyB....don't think either one of my girls even knows what white gloves are. I remember wearing them when I was a kid, always to church & in a dress.
Lois.....oh my goodness, you once again take my breath away with your lovely creations. I'm pretty partial to the blue ones!!
Tippy.....sure do hope Pounce does well. What a fun time you & DGD are going to have, a memory maker for sure.
AnnB....you certainly are a busy one....we'll be here when you get to rest.
Brenda.....eat a hot dog for me at the ball park while watching Drew, oh, I'll have a good ole ice cold Coke to go with it....sugar & all!!!
NancyZ....know just what you mean about wanting to tug on that guys pant leg, those low slung baggy pants on boys make me want to pull on them too.
Cilla....sigh....seems as if all good things must come to an end. Oh yes, that DD of mine doesn't take any lip from anyone!
Egee....I'[m like you, absolutely HATE to wear a hat, always have. Always try to buy coats with hoods so I can pull them on in case of rain, take it off the minute I can.
DH went to therapy this morning, gone before I got up, back home by 9:00, still perkin real well. Said it sure did hurt, but it didn't get him down.
Sure hope everyone has a great day, I've managed to talk & talk, see you this evening.

Afternoon
Just have a minute to sit and chat with my "bestest" of friends.
We have several cordless phones but I keep a corded one by our bed, because as others have said, the cordless do not work if you lose your lights.
Zora wishing Bob a very happy birthday on Sunday. We will be going to ds for a cookout to celebrate our dgs birthday. He will be 13 on the 13th but since it is on a week-day we will celebrate early. Oh and they say it's going to be 94 or 95 that day. Wouldn't ya just know it.......
Rose hope the knee is feeling better. Kids are out of school here now and yesterday at the grocery store it was just awful. I've been tempted several times during the summer months to "avoid" grocery shopping but then we'd have no food in the house and I'm sure dh wouldn't be happy about that. Checked out the blog earlier today and once again those pictures are lovely. Enjoy taking a "trip" with you.
Lois those quilts are once again just lovely. You and your dd are so talented.
Tippy hope Pounce is back home by now and "pouncing" all over the place.
I have to agree with others here about the shorts, blue jeans in church. I guess as it was said, at least they are there but have to wonder how "there" they really are dressed like that. No matter how much I want to not get dressed for church I just can't go like the younger generation do now. A nice pair of dress slacks, blouse or sweater and a nice pair of flats.
Penny it's just too bad more parents don't use that type of "child abuse", yah right, on their kids. We would probably have a lot less crime, road rage, etc. A friend of ours daughter says that this is the Opera generation---"""ME ME ME"""" and I really think she has hit it on the head.
Time to get back at it again. Isn't this "retirement" period just soooooo relaxing?????
Nan
Just a quick message from our friend PAT. She was on the road with grands and wanted to say hi but couldn't get on. Waves from her.
Pounce is home but not good. Don't know what to think of it. The vet said he was good, sent him home and left for the day. I really don't know what to do at this point.
'Bug' is here and we are doing crafts and will go to the movie tonight.

Tippy
Good evening, AC sure does feel good.
DH in the house early this evening, said he'd had enough for one day, think the therapy kind of wears him out, but bless his heart, did his exercises when he came in.
Nan....couldn't agree with you more about the kids now days, it's just all about them all the time, makes me tired.
Tippy.....I'm so sorry to hear Pounce is not doing well tonight, darn, just puts you between a rock & a hard place.
Need to get in the kitchen tomorrow, have strawberries & grapes to clean, also cut up apples for us to munch on. DH has been going out in the freezer & hitting the frozen cookies out there...LOL...although he doesn't eat as many that way.
DD said Miss A's glasses came in the mail yesterday, has to take her to the doctor to get them adjusted to her little face.....wheeee & so the fun begins, be ready for some stories about this...LOL!
Sure hope everyone has a great evening, see you tomorrow.
