Good Monday everyone.  I noticed Mondays are alot better when retired than when you are gainfully employed!

The guests are all gone.  Saturday just after noon I met the guys in Cherokee, the end of the trail for them.  470 miles in eight days on bicycles.  That is a lot of pedaling uphill.  I'm so proud of them.  Gene's wife came in about five, went to Granny's and all pigged out!  Took the tour around the area to show Jan.  Gene and Jan left Sunday morning.  Wayne's (nephew) wife came in Sunday afternoon.  They left this morning.

Brenda, I've been watching the news and thinking of the kids.

Cilla, Zora hope all is well with you all.  Georgia could use some of that water but not with the wind and not all at once.

Lois, I am about thirty miles north of Cherokee, between Cherokee and Asheville.

Brenda, I'll eat the domesticated rabbit but do not want any wild. Don't want any squirrel either.  Ate it growing up but after grown and saw ticks and bugs on them I decided I couldn't do that again.  Dh raised domesticated rabbits for many years and we did eat those.  At the Dekalb Farmer's market you can get rabbit  (ready to cook) along with a lot of other things.

Brenda, the train ride to Plains is a good trip.  Did church trip on it.  Started in Cordele, stopped in Americus for lunch, then Plains and back.  Two day trips we did was one to Lagrange to the Antiquity Center (google it), a replica of the Holy Land.  And if can go with a group or join another group for the meal, great time.  We also went to Wild Animal Kingdom at Pine Mountain.  But all should not be done in the summer!

No plans for this week, until friends come in Saturday.  I'm looking forward to that.

    Hugs to all.

Oh my, it's been many years since I had rabbit...used to have it growing up. My DD ate it at Christmas when her FIL was still alive. It's pretty expensive to buy it here ready to cook. I have no idea how my mother prepared it. Those memories are gonzo.

Got the shed cleaned out and there'll be a big bag for the landfill. Some of those pots were brittle and cracked. I'm very tired now and my body aches all over. Some of you ladies put me to shame with all your energy. I think especially of Willie. Some of you are old enough to be my mother and still go-go-go. I tell ya, I just feel like I got hit by a truck. The rest of my plans will have to be shelved for another day. I took a nice long shower and will be heading off to my recliner soon. Enough is enough.

A train trip sounds great about now.

Oh, peaches...I love peaches. NanB, please eat some for me. Oh, drool! I might go to town after a rest and see if there's any in the stores. I know the cherries are out.

    Heafing for the chair and......

    Hi, CS.

We're home from up north, but not for long. IL DD was kept in the hospital overnight last week. So, we saw her, headed home for a quick stop and then went on to Fairchild for the visitation and funeral for Aunt Jo. We get to stay at the trailer when we visit in that town. Russell's family came, except the sister who lives in Chicago. We stayed an extra day just to relax. Now, it's back to washing clothes and cleaning here.

ZORA, nice to have the "big screen". DD's phone calls even show up on the TV screen for them.

NAN, we are having a nice day, too, but heat will be here by the middle of the week.

EGEE, we eat rabbit and squirrel. Russell enjoys squirrel hunting.

MABLE, I enjoyed an Amish series by Beverly Lewis and now I'm reading more about Amish by Wanda E. Brunstetter. I enjoy the quilting novels, too.

ANN, how do you make your rabbit? Sometimes I just simmer it and brown it, nothing fancy. I remember my grannie making Hassenpfeffer. I am going to broil plums today like Carla did on The Chew, today.

Boy, BRENDA, we could have a big, ole rabbit feast. Gravy and biscuits sound good, too.

JP, why do we save those old pots and buckets----I know, maybe some day they will be used-----best thing is to toss them.

Next week has us busy as ROSIE. After a couple days home we will be headed to Lisle to visit IL DD. And, yes, it will be hot like NAN said. At least I have access to a computer there. Seeing DD is feeling better each day, she'll be more ready for our visit.

Hugs and prayers for all CS.

Good evening, home from WW & all snuggled in my chair for the evening, DH napping in his chair.  I just feel so bad for him, he's having a dickens of a time sleeping, not really anything new as he's fought with it for years, but it's just getting a little worse lately, know he's gotta be tired, no more than what he sleeps.

JP....yikes, know just how you feel, just pooped out.  When we painted the foundation on our house last summer my whole body ached like a toothache at the end of the day.

NanB.....oh yum, those peaches sure do sound good, just love them.  I got some last week at a summer market for DH & I, only one left, so they've been good.

NancyZ.....glad to see you zipping through.  Seems as if it never rains but what it pours, something to do.  We either have nothing going or can't get to all of it.  Sure hope DD is doing well.

Brenda.....sorry Sis, leave me out of the rabbit for dinner, can't get past the picture of Thumper out of my mind...LOL!  DH loves the stuff, the girls & I don't care for it.

I'm within one pound of reaching my weight loss goal....came home & snitched a piece of choc. fudge I had in the freezer....oh my word was it ever good....WOW!

Heating up around here by Wednesday, possibly triple digits.....whoa, not for me, will crank the AC back up.

Hope everyone has a good evening, see you tomorrow.

Good evening all; I know this seems weird me posting in the evening but we will be getting ready to start home in the morning early. So probably won't be able to discuss things early. This evening we went for a visit with some friends that lived next door to GM when she was here. They watched over her for years until she had to sell and we moved her to assisted living. Anyway we stopped by to see themmand had a nice visit, then went on to Pietro's for 1 more wonderful  meal before we go back to Ok. Right before leaving friends house I walked around to the front and took a picture of GM's old house. If you are on fb you can see it on mine.

Zora---You are one great wife to get B up and pack his lunch too. Do you also pack love notes inside????

Margaret---can't wait to see the finished x-stitch craft.

Nan B---100---I know, talked to my H. this morning and he said the next 3 days will be at least 100. No rain in sight.

Wildtxrose---We love you too and don't get lost in the grocery store.

Red savage---Don't get too lost in book, kids might need something........

Mabel---Where are you going to find these books????? Are you sure you are in the library???????

Noudder---57* F. We will be right over!!!! My Dad was trying to raise rabbits one time long time ago and well he thought he would like to use them for food.  Well My Dad is the only person in the world that could buy rabbits that don't know how to DO IT!!!!!!! YES i SAID  DO IT. And I don't mean with gusto. So anyway we ended up with extra large rabbits that Dad coudn't make himself butcher, and too big so they were very tuff even if cooked for hours. My H had to do the deed. That is a running famity joke that is true.

    Ann B---Super great repellant.

    Nan---Sounds like pretty nice weather.

Brenda---Praying that kids are all ok in Florida.

    Penny brown---Have a great day.

Ann ---Cheese ball sounds great---Mmmmmmm homade fresh peach ice cream.

Egee---I agree about Mondays and retirement. 470 miles--awesome. You will probably be using this week to get ready for company.

    Nancy Z---Glad DD is better.

Guess I best go for now, Mom and Dad  have already gone to bedand are watching --of course FOX news.  It;'s ok I just get tired of it over, over, over, over, over, all day. Yes, do you think I am ready to get home???????

Love you guys, hugs and prayers for all.      Mel------running out of GUSTO.
