Good Morning:
We are going to Margaritaville today. I broke Piggy and came up with $96 in nickels, dimes and quarters. I figure I can lose that and never miss it. Then we are going to eat a Little Ray's in Gulfport since they are suppose to have some very good po-boys and crab cakes. They also have something called Onion Battered Green Beans (sorry Penny) that I would really like to try too.
Whoever sent the cleaning Grinch my way, please take it back!! Today I clean my fridge glass shelves and all and that includes the top that I had to climb to get too. I even took out the produce drawers and cleaned them too plus underneath.
Thought of the Day-Duty makes us do things well - love makes us do them beautifully.~ Unknown
Today is Cow Appreciation Day. And, that's no bull! But, it is something to "Moo" about.
As I began my research for this day, I talked to Bob about plans for this page. I was intending to comment in a nice way, about everything that cows give us. But, he convinced me to simply talk about the dairy products.
Our appreciation for cows can be expressed in many ways. Some websites suggest you go out and give a cow a big hug and/or a kiss. While it might sound like fun, you don't have to go to extremes to enjoy this special day. It can be as simple as pausing for a moment to think about cows, and all that they do for us.
Now that we've had our moment of silence, it's time to celebrate. Have an ice cold glass of milk. Add chocolate syrup, if you prefer. Then, fire up the grill, and cook some burgers or a steak. And, don't forget to get your fill of cheese. Sorry, goat cheese is not allowed today
Waving to Lesia!!
Special hugs and prayers for Anne, Betty, Merle, Sherry and Odell, Cilla, Cats, and Sally and Colleen.
And Don’t Forget the basket!! Keep it full of extra hugs and prayers for all that need them!!
Remember the group prayer! “Heavenly Father, we ask that you watch over and care for all Cookin’ Seniors and those they love as they go about their day!!
Hugs
Zora
On the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast!
Cilla-Your version of Swamp Soup sounds fantastic!! Got most of it and will get the rest on the next trip to the grocery!!
Margaret-How did the meeting with your friend go?
Beverly-Middle ear problems?? Do take it easy. I hope you are feeling better soon!
AnnB-Glad to see I am not the only one with Sears problems!! Think I will keep using my present appliances as long as possible and if necessary use spit and baling wire to hold them together.
Penny-Sounds like you had a super wonderful day with Miss A. Not spoiled in the least is she??
Cheri-We do miss you and stay safe. Enjoy your time in the States. Check back in when you can.
Night all and Hugs
Margaret

Well my friend and I are ok, but I had a phone call from dd (step) and now she is not talking to me she was screaming at me, I cant do this I thought and at the moment wont contact her, dont want to talk to her.
This afternoon we both have hospital appointments, Trevor is having some extra skin from inside his mouth removed, mine is only on my eyes.

Annb how are you today? hugs
Good Morning Zora and Grubs and all who follow! I m just sitting here having a snack before I crash for the night. Crackers and cheese, anyone, followed by cherries? I'll leave some sweet cherries on the platter.
Just got back from the city an hour ago. Saw the little grandson again...he's still in hospital. Had another setback.and was looking rather sad today. We didn't stay long. It's difficult to see him like that I think he was running a fever as well.
It's been very warm here, but today it rained/poured all day. Monday it should clear up again and then warm up to almost unbearable highs. Still, it won't get into triple digits like many of you experience down in the U.S.A.
I have been out of the loop again lately and have a lot of catching up to do.
Work's been busy and I've spent a lot of time in the cave as well. It's cooler there and not as frustrating. But occasionally one has to come up for air.
I will head off to bed soon. Have a lovely day. Enjoy the cherries I've shared!
Good morning…wow, that’s the longest I have slept in a long time and boy did it feel good. Now to try to do a little catch up…slowly, one day or so at a time.
Cheri, wonderful to see your pretty face on here again. Likewise, Sherry…we miss you gals when you aren’t here.
Zora, glad to say I did celebrate yesterday’s National Ice Cream Day with a baby Blizzard at Dairy Queen (yeah I know but close enough).
Cilla, loved the Blue Angels picture with the observation wheel…I might pay the $15 for a photo op but that would be it. Thanks for the Swamp Soup recipe…will have to try it if I can get over the collard greens. We took Trish to see the Blue Angels at Glenco Naval Air Station in Georgia when she was 2 or so….mistake. First plane went over she wet her pants, second plane went over she did it again…by now we have a puddle forming and out of clean clothes. The people next to us kept inching away and inching away. Visualize the crowd on the flight line \\\\ us /// by the end of the show.
Margaret, missed all the drama with your friends, but glad things seem to be working out now. Lazy afternoon sounds like Heaven, did you get to have one?
Beverly, how you doing today? Don’t make me worry! Good to see you even for the short time we had…always can use a Beverly hug when in Midland. Chipmunks were running around under the deck in Ruidosa. Too quick and too far away to get a good shot of one unfortunately.
NanB, when have you ever overeaten? You might be as cute as a chipmunk but never would you look like one!
Nancy, thanks, I truly have missed you too. We head for Home Depot or Lowes for appliances, in one instance we followed the guys into the gate…now that is service!
Ann, I did enjoy your mountains, and your high desert, and everything in between. Loved every minute we spent there, and even took .39 of Inn of the Mountain Gods money. We bought a beautiful pottery piece as a 45th wedding anniversary gift to each other, and a smaller matching one for Walt to give Trish to wish her a happy anniversary of being his daughter. Everyone was friendly, everything was clean, and I can’t wait to get back. Still sorry we couldn’t connect. Do hope you are feeling better…way to long to have that stuff. For those that haven’t had the opportunity to visit this beautiful state, this is what I saw at a rest stop one day.
Penny, my evil trip who I adore….ok, so all I saw was you being a loving MawMaw, I want the dirt of the mischief you got into while I was gone…but glad you and Miss A had a great time. LOL, now AnnB has me visualizing you on that trike!
jp, poor little guy, sending cyber-auntie prayers and hugs, he has too beautiful of a smile to be sad. I’ll take crackers and cheese followed by cherries any day! Guess I know what is for lunch but with melon instead of cherries.
Off to work on pictures and maybe do a load or two of laundry….maybe not. Puppy prayers for SammieSu please, she tore another ACL thingy and has surgery this week. Marti will have to take over the donkey duties by herself for six weeks or so.
Hugs and loves to each of you because YOU are loved!
Hello this morning to all on here and, like JP said, to all who follow!
It is a lovely cool morning here. I think Rosie can relate. The shadows are still long and the birds are singing their little hearts out. It is quiet, no traffic or airplane noises at all. The range grass, unfortunately, is still yellow and here it is almost the end of July. We haven't had any more rain at all but there is a "chance" this week. The news says it is the worst drought everywhere that we have had in many years.
Zora: Oh, dear, now you have done it! I have been needing to clean my refrig. for ages and now you have prodded me to get on the ball and get it done. I have glass shelves too..........Our cows were really important to us while I was growing up. They sustained us with milk, buttermilk, butter, cottage cheese, cream, and meat. The chickens were a big help too with eggs and meat. Mother used to trade eggs for staples, like salt, at the little country grocery store.
Margaret: It is indeed Monday and laundry day (wash day). I wonder why Monday was always the day to do the laundry?....Just sent a prayer up for your friend. Hope she has good news from the Dr.
JP: So sorry to hear the news about DGS. Just sent a prayer up for him also.
Well, yesterday was a good day without a recurrence of that horrid problem I had all week. Praying that today will be another good day.
Can anyone remember the entire poem that starts with "Sunday's child is full of grace, Monday's child is fair of face..........? We were trying to remember all of it the other day at church and couldn't.
I might not be on tomorrow or Wed. as we will be gone both days. Tomorrow morning, I have that dental appt. and must remember to take my antibiotic before I leave, because of my artificial hip and knee. They won't do dental work without it!
I saw talk show yesterday and they think they may have a break through on Alzhiemers! It is in the experimental stage yet but wouldn't that be great!
DD and I worked in the garden together yesterday evening and did quite a bit. Four hands are always better than just two. She was watering, I was weeding, and it was a good time. She brought home no cake from church and just enough of my casserole for supper last night. I was hoping she would bring me a piece of the cake but didn't.
I found an interesting little recipe in one of my Cowbelle Cookbooks. I will post it. It is called Jelly Pie but the comment said that her mother used to serve it for breakfast, and it sounds like a good accompaniment for that.

Good Morning Everyone,
Another day in the high 90'a here. I may just move into the garage, my car is there and it has a/c!
JP, I'm so sorry the little man had a set back..
My weed-wacker ran out of string, have to go to the local hardware store and see if I can find a man to get the thing out that holds the string, and show me how to restring it! Maybe, if I look help-less enough I can find a kind one who will do it for me...?
Have a great day,
Mabel
Oh, Nan, thank you, thank you!
Rosie: Lovely picture. That is what I look at every morning from my front window, only it is a different mountain of course! Did you happen to visit the Museum of the Horse while there? I have been in two juried art shows there.
Mabel: I have to look helpless a lot when it comes to things like that! LOL!
Margaret, I'm so flattered that you posted my picture again! I laugh out loud every time you post it, so keep it up!
I've never had trouble with Sear's appliance or service except my husband did once and he set them straight in a hurry! The garage door opener didn't work and I had called the repair dept to no avail. Hubby went to the store and they gave him the same advice and he told them I had already done that, and they were to open a box of a new one right then -- and they did. My son went with him as he knew there was going to be a confrontageon (sp?) and he didn't want to miss it! It took a lot to get my hubby riled but when he did there was no ? who was going to prevail!
My gal comes this morning to beautify my hair color. I am not going out today as the temp will be be in the high 90's - with 100 promised for tomorrow. I recall Mark Twain saying everyone complained about the weather but no one did anything about it. My solution is to stay inside with air conditioning! NanB
Good morning my friends. It is going to be another hot one today, and with no rain to speak of in sight. H mowed down stray grass and weeds, seems like they can always grow??? Sorry I haven't been here everyday, but just kind of chillin lately. To hot to do much else. Miss J. and I started this morning, at my suggestion to go to school to the track every morning at 6:30 to walk and of course she is starting to do a little running. Her knee is doing great. Hardley any swelling and when it is there is always Ice. I am really surprised at how good it made me feel to walk and I did good, 2 strong laps around track for me. Tomorrow maybe 3. She and I went and enrolled in Dance classes for the new season yesterday. So glad we went ahead and had her knee done this summer. In a week she leaves for Falls Creek Church camp. She is excited! Meee toooo! lol

Gotta go for now, see what the day holds. Seem to have a lot of energy today. I guess it's the walking. I am posting the recipe from Pietro's for Chicken Maria. MmmmmGooood.
LITTLE DITTY from mel'skitchen
Friends are like macaroni, if their not warm their not good.
LITTLE OLD DITTY
Though terms may change, each youthfull generation thinks they invented sex---down to the letter! How stunned they are to learn that we, their elders, have seen it all before---and DONE IT BETTER!!!!
COMMENTS From Miss J.
An open mind leaves a chance for someone to drop a worthwhile thought in it.
Howdy friends. I'm baaaaack! What a wonderful time and great music and speakers. Loved (almost) every minute of it.
I got all caught up reading the past few days posts and will take time to chat with you all later. Can't believe how much one misses when your gone for a short while here.
MARGARET~~Big hugs to you precious friend. You have a good heart and sometimes it lands a person in trouble. Keep being you and it will be okay. Don't take the bad words spoken so much to heart and go on from here.
Is this the same bunch that got so tempermental with you a couple of years ago?
You are a faithful friend!
ROSIE~~Good to see you made it back home safe and sound. Will chat more later and will be checking out photos! You know I'm a fan of your photographic eye and mind.
NANCY Z~~The line-up changed some with a couple of artists not being able to make it due to illness and an emergency in the family but all and all it was fabulous. Steven Curtis Chapman was our favorite overall. His message is so bold and strong after he has come through what his family has the past four years when his DD was killed.
A lot of other good music and messages too.
CONGRATULATIONS to DREW!!!!! So all the aunties are proud of you too.
I have so much to get done around here after being gone so much so I'll cut this short and will be back to chat later.
Talk to you later
Tippy
