Good Morning:
Boy have clothes size changed I got out and older pair of white shorts fit me like a glove and they were size 8. Yet the 6s I got back in the spring are still too big.
We spend the morning checking places to leave the dogs. The kennel in town I guess is the best place to leave them but they don't open until 8 which will put us late leaving for New Orleans unless I put them it the day before. It is going to be stressful enough on them put them in 5 days. I hate to leave them any longer than necessary. They are both going on a trial basis Tuesday to see how they do. The kennel insist on it. They are only open 8-10 and 2-4:30. And if you can not do that you can stick it or at least that is the feeling I get.
I wish I could leave them home but the lady that lives next door works nights and sleeps during the day so she is out. I have woods behind me and across the street and about 3 families of Mexicans living in one house on the other corner. The lady that is going to take care of the chickens will only come every other day. The problems of living out of town.
This trip was suppose to save my sanity and help relieve stress but all it is doing is adding to it.
Thought of the Day-I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read and all the friends I want to see. ~John Burroughs
Today is Presidential Joke Day. I will not make any further comment!

On the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast!
Margaret-My spelling is awful. Thank heavens I have a good spell checker in Word. Occasionally though I will even confuse it.
Tippy-Hugs! I don't think Rich deserves one!! But Hugs to Rich's mother and family! I do hope it doesn't affect your upcoming surgery.
Beverly-Kelly's wife doesn't do things graciously at all. My tongue will be bloody by the time I get home.
Brenda and Egee-I refuse to watch shows about the "real" South. I can't afford a new screen right now after I throw something just to shut them up.
Ann-Algebra and Geometry I was good at. Mainly because no multiplication tables were needed. I still solve an equation if I end up with a tough math problem.
Pat-No cave please!!
Night all and Hugs

Good morning.its a lovely start to the day here,we had a good time at the bbq, my x was not there, not that bothers me,just meant did not have to speak to him.
Today we are off to Eastbourne to see #2 son and dgs who is 9 today, its also the air show weekend, so it will be busy, the air show is on for 4 days with so much more going on.the two little grands are away with their other grand parents( different mum) but thats ok as we can spoil Ethan, he is so like his dad at that age, could just steal him and bring him home with us.
Zora can understand how you feel about leaving Grem and shorty.
Sandy we lived in a small village and I had 2 older brothers to follow.Loved your siggy.
Tippy HUGS for you and dmil, prayers for the family, keep Rich in that cotton wool
Beverly loved the bear and the link.
Brenda loved your siggy too.
Penny its ok to use fingers I often do at ww to work out weight lose.
Pat HUGS for you.
Tippy, they say things happen in 3's but you have proved that isn't accurate. How old is Mama with so much damage? I've heard sometimes the leg breaks first and that causes the fall. I surely hope she recovers well and will pray for her - and I'll throw one in for you, too.
I go to Jr. League this morning to sort m'dise and take a sack of my clothes, too. I should take a lot more but you know how that is. My son is on weed patrol b4 that.
It is freezing this morning. Did I say that? NanB
May you all have a beautiful, fun, safe weekend. Here in the mountains it is a cool 62 degrees at the moment, overcast but no rain predicted, at least until late afternoon. Will try to go 'downtown' to the Mast General Store early, before the tourist fill the streets. Think they came in early yesterday as the streets were full before noon. Well, tourist bring money to the area and I can do my shopping and looking during the week when need to. And dd will give me a body perm today or tomorrow, her choice. Tried to do without but heavy, super fine hair and humidity requires a bit of help to hold it in place.
Zora, we do hate to leave those babies. No matter how hard you try to explain they just don't understand. But, you do need some time away and I'm sure they will be fine.
Nothing going on here. I do need to get a shower and get presentable thne decide what I am going to do today. Waiting to find out if BFC is going to do the hair today and if she will come here or I'll go to her house, then I'll decide what I'll do with the day.
Good morning ladies, I can describe the day with one word. Yucky. Overcast, rain, and thunder rolling. I will definitely be staying home today. The only ones that will be out are ducks. lol
Zora - I've not left Abbie for an overnight stay at the vets either. I have taken her when I went anywhere. I dread having to leave her because I feel she spent all her life before I got her pinned up. I understand how you are feeling.
Margaret - Sounds like you had a great day. Those Grands always have a way of making our days a little brighter.
NancyB - I saw on the weather channel the lower temps up your way. Boy wish we could get some.
Edgee - I have not had a perm of any kind in years. Sometimes I think about one, but I just get a haircut and let the thought buzz on by. lol
Tippy - I am so sorry about Rich's Mom's fall. That is a lot of breaks. She will take a long time to heal. Will keep her in my prayers.
Hi ya Penny, just in case I don't get back to chat.
Looks a little lighter outside. Sure it won't last long. Zora hope you aren't having a lot of bad weather. Will be back later to talk more. Have a great day and be safe.
Hugs, love, and prayers for all.
Brenda
Morning
A beautiful sunny but cool day here today. 67 at the moment but say we will be in the 80's before days end. I can still handle those temps. Have had a taste of fall with the cooler nights and I'm not ready as yet for that to happen.
Zora I'm sure the "babies" will be ok and very, very glad to see you when you return. I know it'll be hard and think the kennel is smart to want to check things out before you take off and leave them. Oh and we "had" one of those DIL's and she is no more. So I can understand where you are coming from. Just enjoy being with your son while she is working, at least she won't be there 24/7.
Tippy {{{{{{{ BIG HUGS}}}}}}} for you and other hugs for the family. So sorry about your MIL. Think you need to wrap Rich in more then bubble wrap.
Penny how's the temps. your way? We've been getting a nice "break" here for the past few days. But I must say I'm like your dh, I don't like cold weather.
Did our errands yesterday, went to lunch and then stopped at Walgreen's to get some milk as they were having a special this week. When we pulled in a car--and I use that term loosely--pulled up next to us in a handicap spot, a man got out and went into the store, as we were walking past it I said to dh it looks like the car needs a handicap sticker as well, no front fender, the door wouldn't close, glass broken. We went in and got what we needed, walked out and as we were getting ready to put the stuff in the trunk, an unmarked police car comes in the lot, the guy got out and I heard someone else say, he's a scruffy looking man with a tatoo on his throat, oh there he is now. By that time there were 4 or 5 other police cars in the lot and all kinds of police. As we were leaving I noticed the man who was id'ing the guy had a shirt on with an Aldi logo. My guess is the guy had been shop lifting there, they noticed him and the guy got in his car and followed him while reporting it to the police. Now Aldi is at least 5 miles from the Walgreen's we were at. So.......that was our "excitement" for the day. LOL
Today dh has gone to another car show so Angel and I are having a ME day again.
Need to re-pot a plant so better get to it.
Have a great day everyone.
Nan
Morning all...cloudy here...rained off & on all day yesterday...some storms were really big downpours! The humidity is what is doing me in!! The temps drop some but the humidity is 2000%...yuck. I hope the rain will stop for several hours this afternoon...DH's BF one of his twin sons is getting married at 4pm. Then the cocktail hour and then the reception.
Zora, I understand. We have a great vet and our last pup(rescued basset) didn't like not going with us but she knew the vet & workers would pamper & play with her! If you want the name, let me know but that would be a drive to P'cola.
Margaret, hope you have a good time today...sure you will with Ethan.
Tippy, good grief, girl!! Big, gigantic hugs to you!! Sorry to hear of MIL's fall. Bless her heart.
NanB, I know you'll have a good time this morning...pricing!!
Egee, wish we would have some cooler temps. Happy *perming*!!!
Bev, thanks for the info. I knew the meteor shower was thisweekend but that gave a lot of info.
Brenda, hope the weather will lighten up some...makes forbetter moods...hugs to you, my friend!!
I need to get moving, which is so hard these days...Later....hugs to all....
Nan, looks like we posted almost the same time...glad the *excitement* wasn't more than that!! That was enough!! Enjoy your ME day!!
Good afternoon, was finally able to open the windows, bit chilly.....I'm not complaining though, DH, on the other hand is.
Zora.....well darn it, hate it that you've got to leave the "kids", never heard of having a trial run for them. I hear every word you're saying.....grrrr.....got a SIL that simply wears me out.
Tippy....am so sorry about your DMIL....sigh....I'm agreeing with Beverly....hope she can overcome this. My Mom broked her shoulder & was never the same. Best wishes to all concerned.
Brenda....Hi ya gal.....like you, not much going on around here today, I can live with a rut.....LOL!
I have a couple of loads of laundry on the line, took my mop bucket down the basement filled with Pine Sol & hot water, have a shelf next to my washer, was pretty dusty, have it filled with soap, various extra cleaning stuff, took it all off & wiped clean. Also tried a carpet cleaner remedy I pulled off of Pinterest, had a stain on my kitchen carpet, been there maybe a week or three, DH told me to call the carpet guy....as you all know I immediately do what I'm told....LOL....NOT! Anyway, tried the remedy, waiting for it to try, if it works I'll post it....may just save me some money.....kind of looks as if it's working, will wait a little longer.
Going to go to Bill's Diner tonight for dinner, last time we went if you'll recall I nearly choked to death & got locked in the bathroom....LOL....been a while since we've been there, bit too fresh in my mind, hope tonight works better...LOL!
Nan....got the cool air going here & am absolutely loving it, DH did put his shorts on this morning, hasn't been back in to change. I do notice the big shop door is still closed...LOL!
DD #2 called last night, said she & Miss A will be out for dinner tomorrow, her hubby is working again, so they leave home, Miss A won't let Daddy sleep otherwise.
Hope everyone is doing ok, talk later.

Hi all. Another beautiful day here, 75° with a slight breeze. Been sitting here with the door open beside me and I have gotten some stuff done that needed doing, going to get my book and sit some more.
Matt is not the most popular guy with me, he just plain forgot my elephant ear last nite. Called me when they were on the way home, said that they would go back if I couldn't wait til tonite. IF he had been driving I'd have had him go back, but since DD was I wouldn't punish her. I'll call him several times tonite to remind him. Times like this I kind of wish that I did the texting thing, but without the program I have to pay for each one. Maybe I'll do it anyway, lol
Take care all. Pat
Hi Hi Hi,
Not in the cave, I've been in the pool and other places cleaning up after a heckuva storm that came through yesterday evening. Scott and I hauled off 2 buckets and a little trailer behind the John Deere filled with downed branches, twigs, leaves, two beetles, a grasshopper and an ugly looking spider. Plants on Mom's porch and our deck were turned over; Walt's BBQ turned 180 degrees; furniture was strew all over the place yards from where it had originally been - had to search for a patio chair that had disappeared.
In the middle of that I was copying and tweaking and uploading 200+ pictures of Josh's Bike and Build trip to use as part of the decoration at his " whoo-hoo you did it " party in a week. Pinterest again, of course, showed photos taped or pinned to ribbons of helium filled balloons...will try that and if that doesn't work will revert to just scattering them. Good conversation starters if nothing else. When he is through and has dipped his wheel in the Pacific, signifying the end of the journey, we are having all his pictures made into a poster. But Instagram will do that for me. The problem was Instragram pictrures come out as squares and Walgreens doesn't print squares, Ritz Camera does for .49 a print....ummmm no I don't think so. My time was worth the $80 + dollars.
We are trying the stuffed tomato/grilled corn recipe with the goat cheese tonight, but instead of putting it back in the tomato, we will add more tomato to the mixture and put it in a taco shell with some spicy shrimp, lettuce, and avocado on top. I'm starting to drool just thinking about it..LOL.
Now to make up some dip for wine (tonight Margarita) time. Another new recipe that was the taste test at the grocery store last week. Yummy stuff.
Zora, I feel for you...wish there was someone that could come house/chicken/Grem & Shorty sit. Hope it works out. Tell Shorty Marti said it isn't too bad, and Mommies go batshet when they get you home out of guilt and you can talk them out of anything....
Hugs and prayers to each of you because YOU are loved.
Running by to see what is going on in all of your lives.
Hmmpphh PAT. Nothing like being forgotten. 'sigh' At least it was just an elephant ear and not like leaving you standing waiting for a ride home or something. (I've done that) Guess we will cut him some slack since he is such a good kid.
ROSIE Dahling....Right down to the lone spider. LOL
Sorry about the nasty storms. Did the donkeys fare well in it? That is such mess to clean up when winds do that kind of damage.
Your going to have to take pictures of the party. Sounds wonderful but then this is more than an amazing accomplishment that he has undertaken and been so successful.
PENNY~~Be careful washing those floors. That's what DMIL was doing when she went down. I agree with NANB on that thought. I'm thinking that it broke before she went down.
I would be very interested in that carpet cleaner recipe if it works.
With this many grandkids we are bound to have a few "oppsies"
We did Wendys when we were out and about earlier and I'm making chicken salad and sweet corn for dinner tonight at hubby's request. Blows me away when he actually asks for something. He will be surprised when a 'certain someone' cannot (will not) do any cooking or dishes for a couple of weeks.
CILLA~~How far away would that be for ZORA to bring the furbabies? Might be worth it.
ZORA~~I don't get the whole process either but like the idea of checking out how they will do before you go. I've never heard of a place that doesn't have someone there all the time though and that would be the big turn-off for me. Man, how I wished you had someone to come in to house/dog sit. Isn't there someone that you are friends with that would come in a few times a day or stay over with them?
Of course this from someone who still hasn't found a ride to and from the surgery.
I like the idea of the taxi or the limo! It's quite a distance from our home so I'm guessing the cost would be out of our budget.
I still have tomorrow at church to ask a couple of people.
NAN~~That kind of excitement is okay as long as your not too close to the commotion. Glad they caught him. Some of the bigger stores won't even try to catch shoplifters anymore. They say it's too much hasstle and too many people scream that they were accused for no reason cause they know how to ditch the stuff.
Don't know how many of you remember my ordeal at walmart and what those crooks got away with. Still burns my biscuits.
BEVERLY~~Thank you for the reminder. If it's clear enough we will check it out. We love the heavens and with everything else on our minds it had slipped by us so I appreciate your post.
I've thought that more than once BEVERLY and I hope it's not so. Too many times you see someone have something happen like this and that's the begining of the end. She is a tough one and has been very active so I'm hoping that she will be able to pull through this. I look at how badly the mess up left my mom and know that she will never be up to the way she was before she went into the hospital. Makes me really worried about my MIL.
I cannot not even imagine how that many breaks and hip damage will ever be something that anyone, any age, could get through to be 'okay' in the end.
EGEE and BRENDA~~I gave up getting perms a long time ago too.
I do have to tell you a story. You all are going to want to tar and feather my poor husband when I get done with all these stories lately. LOL
I got my hair cut last week and the gal did something really cute in the back by making it look curly and puffed up. (my hair is flat). She showed me how to do it at home and everything. I liked it.
My hubby came home from work that day and took one look at me and said, "Were you laying down and napping?"
I wasn't so I told him I hadn't been. "Why do you ask?"
He said, "Because your hair is all messed up and tangled looking." Now....I ask you.....what is a girl supposed to do?
I've left it straight and flat. I give up.
NANCY B~~Rich's mom is 84. Been active but has heart problems.
MARGARET~~Your day sounds lovely again. You sure do keep on the go. Enjoy that kiddo.
Hubby ran up to the hospital again this afternoon. They are still waiting for her blood to be okay to do the surgery. They were talking about doing a late night surgery on her tonight. If so, it will be a long night in the waiting room.
Time to put the chicken salad together. Take care friends.
Thank you for the hugs, prayers and good vibes in general for my DMIL.

gram_x11 Times like this I kind of wish that I did the texting thing, but without the program I have to pay for each one. Maybe I'll do it anyway, lol
Lol. Pat, you will love it. I resisted getting, learning text. But my g-daughter and then my son had me, very slowly, send a few texts for them while we were on a trip together last year. Albiet I'm slow at it and it seems every one uses both thumbs and I still peck out my missives with the index finger of one hand. Shortly after that I learned how to text pictures!!!!! Poor Zora and Rosie were recipients of NURMEROUS pictures of everything I pointed my little cell phone at. (grinning hugely) Now here's the possible drawback - your DH. Does he text? If not, then learn for yourself because if his phone does not receive text or if he does not know how to open to read, etc then learning for just contact with him is useless.
