Good Morning:
Well Shorty can stay at the place we tried out yesterday but Grem didn't. They woke him up yesterday morning since it was time to go out according to their schedule. Grem snapped at them for waking him up. From what I know about dogs you never disturb a sleeping dog! Maybe it is the best decision cause my dogs don't have a schedule. So we keep looking.
Bob works the next 3 days. I guess they are making up since he only worked 3 days since the first of the month.
Thought of the Day-Happiness comes of the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply, to think freely, to risk life, to be needed. Storm Jameson
Today is Bad Poetry Day, a day to create some really bad verse. But, why you ask? Perhaps, the answer is simply "because you can". Maybe, it exists to allow us to better appreciate good poetry. Or, perhaps it is to be written to irritate someone......
According to Wellcat.com, the creators of this day, the intention is to gather a group of old high school friends, and write some really bad poetry. Then, send the poetry to your old high school teacher. Wow!, That sounds like a lot of fun......
Waving to Lesia!!

Good morning can I first tell you all about something strange that happened in the night and no was not dreaming,a smell like a ashtray woke me very strong,I have never smoked and dh gave up many years ago and never smoked in the bedroom,I got up and got a drink and as soon as I went back to bed it was there, this morning nothing.
Zora sorry grem did not enjoy his stay away, hope you find somewhere for them soon.
Not sure if you all know Prince Phillip is bake in hospital poor old boy.
I saw Donny Osmond on tv yesterday,he is still so sweet did not under stand some of the words used my the couple interviewing him, made me think about how we sometimes have that with me and all my dear friends on here.
Pat hope you feel better today.
Brenda hope you are also better.
AnnB glad the gallery wants to show your work.
NancyZ hope you soon get some me time.
Penny glad you and miss A had a good day
We are of to see if we can find some bargains at a bootfare this morning, then I hope to find time to sit in the garden.

Eyes have been bothering me of late. Not true pain, just bothersome. A sharp pain in the temple brought me completely awake from restless slumber and I finally climbed out of bed around 1:45am. Been warming the seat of this chair ever since with occasional forays to the kitchen to refill my coffee mug.
Zora - Not good, yet I feared as much from your descriptions of Grem's personality. Unfortunately for Grem, most facility's run on a schedule and the workers have to be able to handle the dogs without fear of being bitten. Is there a friend that Grem is acquainted with and accepts that will take him in for a few days?
Margaret - A very vivid dream, indeed. To your knowledge, has someone you know departed the earthly plane that was a smoker?
Good morning, everyone! It's been pouring rain on and off since last night...very soggy. Busy day today...shopping with mom, visit with DB to help with cleaning and laundry... Bill's off to visit his friend in NH.
Zora - Sorry to read about you having to find another place to board your babies. Is there a vet establishment instead of a private kennel that could do the job? Maybe there is one with access to an outdoor dog run so they can exit to do their business when they need to.
Margaret - Weird about that cigarette smell...ugh...can't stand it, either!
Beverly - I wasn't up that early, but I did get up before my usual time...nap for me this afternoon!! Have you read the comments about TOH taking off the "Field Editor" badge from us? Nuts! People are getting really testy. Doesn't bother me a bit.
Penny - You had a trying day!
Oops! Mom is ready, and I'm NOT! Got to move it. TTFN
Ann
Good morning ladies, I am early this morning. Woke up around 4:30 couldn't sleep. Throat hurt, body hurt. Got up and took a hot shower, made a pot of coffee, and here I am. Feel some better so thought I would pop in and say hello.
Zora - Dr. McCloud doesn't have a schedule. Once the dogs are up they go out. When I had Chipper all he would eat was Tyson chicken nuggets, cut into 4 pieces. When I boarded him they even cut his nuggets up. Hopefully you will be able to find a place. Have you thought about an individual who keeps dogs?
Margaret - Wow that is strange. I don't think I have ever had that happen. Did not know Prince Phillip was back in the hospital. I hope things go well for him. I love the Royal Family. They have always interested me for years. There are times when I can't understand some Brits also. Especially the one who is the Nanny on a reality show. But I do love the accent. Good luck with the boot fair, hope you find a good bargain.
Beverly - Love the picture of the boy and dog. Will have to go back and read the article. Seems like none of us sleep good any more. Wonder if age has anything to do with it. After Daddy died I could sometimes smell his cologne.
Ann - What does a Field Editor do? I've seen it on several people's profile. How are they chosen? I'm just curious. Have a good day. Enjoy time with your Mom. I sure do wish I could go on one more shopping trip with her. Daddy passed away 10 yrs. ago yesterday and Mama 10 yrs in Nov. Don't know where the time has gone.
Take care everyone. Have a safe and good day. See you later today.
Hugs, love, and prayers for all.
Brenda
Hi…notice no “good morning”….I’ll take Mr. Happy Pants over three young dogs any day. Knees are giving me fits so took drugs before bed last night so I could sleep…6:30 this morning I had a Labrador, a medium mixed, and a terrier from Hades in the middle of my bed alternately wrestling and slathering me with kisses. Going to take all three to the pound and get a cat.
Zora, my humble offering of bad poetry. I assume that our resident poet laureate is barred from taking part in today’s events? Bummer about Grem, and he was the one you figured would love it there. What were they thinking reaching for a sleeping dog…idiots don’t need to be taking care of those sweet babies. Did you check your vet’s office? Mine kennels and the girls are familiar with the smells and sounds and people. They don’t like it, but it is familiar.
I have some friends I never see,
Their faces are a blank to me,
They are here day and night,
We share our hugs, we never fight,
Well once we did when Penny shoved,
But never forget YOU are loved!
Margaret, I did not know Prince Phillip was back in the hospital. He is such a sweet looking guy. Hard to remember sometimes that Elizabeth is not only a queen but a wife. She must be so worried and not able to let it show. The ashtray incident, two things come to mind. Either someone was saying hello from “the other side” or you need to see if someone was outside your window during the night. The first is a wonderful thought, the second scary.
Beverly, I see we had the same thought with the dearly departed. That would be my first guess. Not good about that sharp pain – take care of my friend. That cat has the right idea with the Folgers. Forget cocaine, give me a straw and a can of Folgers! If two guys and four dogs don’t calm down I will need that green machine installed in the barn.
Penny, are you saying you let a little bitty girl wear you out? Have you two made the daisy biscuits yet? Charlotte loved making them and serving them to her mom. If I didn’t post the picture or directions tell me and I will do so. Fun, easy and a big sense of accomplishment.
Brenda, the only reasons I held my tongue more than I did was because the volunteer running the cash register was at least twice as old as I am, I live in a rural area where everyone knows everyone else, and Walt was with me and would have clamped a hand over my mouth if I had let loose. Grin. Saw on Pinterest that you should eat marshmallows if you have a sore throat, it will get rid of it. Never tried, think you don’t like marshmallows, but there it is for what it is worth. Love taking the dogs and leaving the kids….very good point. The scary part of our trip to New Mexico was that Marti would not eat McDonald’s chicken mcnuggets. Now that says something when the garbage disposal with four legs won’t eat chicken mcnuggets. Hugs from yesterday. Daddies are pretty special people.
Pat, sure hope you are feeling better today. Icky yucky on the stomach flu, that is not fun stuff. The good news is it usually doesn’t last but a couple of days. Gentle hugs sent your way, I won’t deliver them in person.
Egee, that is the problem with the sleep aids, but I still take them almost every night to get my knee quiet enough to let me sleep. Hope you got to Cherokee and hope you took pictures to share.
NanB, if it is raccoons and not possums you can’t do much except padlock the containers closed, and those boogers could probably pick the lock.
AnnB, wonderful news on the gallery! You do beautiful work and it should be displayed where more than you and DD can see it. Do you know this man personally or had he seen your work online, recognized talent, and went from there? What did you make to take to the meeting? I will gladly sample it for you. The water people remind me of Nancy Pelosi with her we have to pass the bill before we can read the bill. Gads, Makoff, Enron and a host of others could learn lessons from this group. What a crock!!
Nan, angel and your DH sound like Walt and Marti, they do their chores together too. He heads to the door and she comes out of a dead sleep and is right on his heels. How did the gkids do on their own? I bet they aced it.
Nancy, I need new shoes, I wanted to get them before we left for Trish’s on Monday. I wear SAS and they hae a store at the outlet mall….no problem, the outlet mall is close, even right before school nobody but grandma types wear SAS …. Then I remembered it was no tax weekend. That place will be crawling, no parking places to be had, tempers flaring, kids screaming, teenagers slouching, and me homicidal. Nope, will wear my flip flops to Trish’s, keep looking for the buckles for these two pair to take to the shoe repair and do without until we get home.
Ann, I hadn’t even noticed that the two of you were missing your badges. I seldom look to see who is posting because it is obvious to me just from wording, fonts, etc. What’s everyone’s beef? Did the badge define who they were?
Will have to wash this weekend, clean a bit and drown some dead flowers before we go to Midland to welcome that young man back to the land of normalcy. He rides the last 24 miles today with his Mom, Dad, brother and girlfriend waiting in San Francisco for him. How many people can say they rode across the country on a bicycle helping to raise $179K dollars for affordable housing, and along the way donated hair for wigs for kids with cancer? Otherwise I am playing this weekend, hope you are having fun too. Hugs and prayers to each of you because YOU are loved.
Good Morning all,
Yep, I’m here....just call me Lazy, slow, dumb, achy, confused, well you get the drift. I think you can find a name to explain me lately.
Well add my hay fever allergy in on it and wow you have it in a nut shell.
But then I have the allergy anymore year round. I think winter time is dust associated. Ha.
I don’t get on regular TOH too much anymore. Who’s complaining about what Ann? Seems like anymore you cannot please even hardly a small percent of a
group of people
Keep on trying those new recipes and post them.
Sounds like Penny had a full day yesterday...Glad DH is coming along.
Is he still going to try and haul stuff for neighbor to feed elevator?
Tippy I am so sorry I missed wishing you well on your surgery. Don’t try to do more than the Dr says you should with the hand and arm.
No matter how much you get an”I need you for just this one little thing” from DH or kids.
I also miss Helen stopping by. Her daughter used to post in recipes a lot but don’t know how to get a hold of her to check. I think her posting name was Dorothy from Malibu.
Weather has cooled some good at night. Quite cool this morning. Ha , Midnight did not want to go out after she stuck head out and got a whiff of the cool breeze.
Ah fair weather cat.
I just got word Thursday that my Sis who is 80 is to have back surgery Wed.
She is in severe pain a lot of the time so had to go see a neurosurgeon. She has very bad diabetes also.
My only Sis
Well she is my only sibling so I am somewhat distracted. My mind is racing thinking of all so got to slow down and trust in God.
Love the cartoon pic you posted on facebook Margaret. Had a good chuckle.
Don’t know if TOH would allow it. But so funny.
Yes I read that Prince Philip was ailing again.
.
Love to all. Sandy
Went to FB from here and found this....Josh is crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. Two months ago he started in Providence, Rhode Island. Along the way they stopped to help build affordable housing, donate hair, and raise money....this is only one of my over the top remarkable grandchildren. There are 5 + one grandson in law more just like him. His brother, Cody, got home from working a 5 week camp for challenged individuals in time to meet his brother n California right before he leaves for college next week. Cody devotes his life to helping those like Scott that are in need of recognition despite their handicaps. This was Cody's second camp of the summer.
Happy Saturday. Slight tinge of fall floating in the mountain air, about 64 degrees and leaves barely moving.
Patsy and I did get out yesterday but not to Cherokee. Her sister took us to Asheville to lunch and then browsed Belk's department store (I did not spend a thing) and a thrift store where I did buy eight light bulbs for four dollars.
I got the Friday chores done before we left = vacuuming, mopping and laundry.
Early Monday I will head for Georgia, hoping the a/c guy will get the air repaired that afternoon. Expect to be back here Thursday.
Brenda, sure hope you feel better today. Summer colds just seem to be worse. You need to get some mountain air!
Enjoy the weekend and stay safe.
Rosie, congratulations to Josh. I'm proud of him too.
Twelve years ago my nepehew and two other guys biked cross country from San Diego to Savannah, Ga. I was so proud of him. He was about forty-five and the other two guys were in their early fifties. I kept up with his progress, via his wife and computer, and dh, Mother and I met them when they arrived in Savannah. They just did it on their own as a challenge, took five weeks. They had planned six weeks but made better time than had expected. He and one of those friends are the ones who recently biked the entire Blue Ridge Parkway and visited me.
I'm sitting here watching a program on the royal family at work. The queen is dressed in a very becoming red outfit and an attractive hat. I do hope Phillip recovers soon. I love the uniforms he wears, especially his red one.
Pogo showed up very, very early and I had just heated coffee but he bro't Mr, Donut coffee so I had to drink that instead and he never knew I had fixed my own and it was in the microwave. I prefer my own so when he left the room, I poured some of it out!
"We" got weeds sprayed and diddley little tasks. It is always a treat to have him come. He had already had a call from his elderly neighbor who couldn't get her water shut off so he went there and found she just hadn't turned the faucet so he had her practice. She also damaged the door on her car driving into her garage! Her son is no daxx good so Pogo won't call him but is concerned about her and knows she shouldn't be driving. He is so good and nice that the elderly on his street call him for help and he's always there for them. I'm so proud of him.
Today is a free day so I can pick my poison. NanB
Good afternoon, well, I got a good nights sleep last night & slept in this morning, DH out the door early, so had quiet time to read the paper as well. Having a lovely day here today. Turned off the AC, really kind of cool early this morning, DH has jeans on instead of shorts.
Zora....well darn, hate it that the "kids" are giving you fits about their care while you are gone. Guess it's better to find out Grem didn't do well there than have him bite someone & mess with all that.
The day yesterday with Miss A was fun filled as usual. She didn't give me a minutes trouble, well....there was the one time she was in the bathroom & I didn't get in there quick enough, looked like she had a whole roll of tissue in the potty....had to fish it out....DH would have freaked if he'd been in here....LOL.....no biggie, MawMaw just pulled it out.
Margaret...the smoke smell is quite strange....I do agree with Rosie about maybe someone was outside, scary thought.
Brenda....well darn it....hate it you're not feeling good.
Rosie....sticking tongue out....I did not, I did not! Aren't you the clever one with your poetry....LOL! Now I'd say that Mr. Josh is one fantastic young man, have so enjoyed following him in his travels, loved viewing all the places he's been....WOW....sure does say volumes for him!! Hmmmm....daisy biscuits, nope, don't have a clue, never did it with her.....but I'm sure she'd love it. Took her for a drive yesterday as it's the only way the little skunk will go to sleep for me.....took her exactly 4 minutes to fall asleep....I timed her from the minute I pulled out of the driveway, drove her little self for over an hour & she slept like a log. Ha, had to stop once cause her little head was all slumped over & her glasses were all askew on her face, she didn't even know I took them off. woke up after an hour & was ready to go again. Child makes my heart sing!!!
Sandy....oh yes, that little gal sure does keep me busy. Yes, DH has every intention of driving the big rig this fall for the neighbor....as a matter of fact I think that's what kept him doing his exercises all this time, it was his goal. Will be sending good thoughts on Wed. for your sister, yikes....back surgery, not good....let us know how she gets along.
Egee.....we've got a hint of fall going around here too....I absolutely love it.
NanB....I'm sure Pogo & DH would work themselves crazy if they were together..LOL!
Have laundry on the line, have also balanced checkbooks, written some checks, gone to the post office & talked to both DD's today. Have no idea where we're going for dinner tonight, guess we'd better be discussing it.
Sure hope everyone has a good day, see you later.

There once was a young man named Josh,
Whose heart was made of gold.
He traveled across this land on a bike
just as the story is told.
He saw beauty in the land that he traveled
And did so much good for each cause.
I know he would not really want this,
But let us all stand with applause.
There...I accomplished two things at once with that.
Maybe even three. 'grin'
Waving to everyone. Been busy, despite the hand issues. Forgot about how hard it is to do SOME things one handed. LOL
I also wondered what the "Field Editors" did and haven't seen anything about it cause i haven't gone looking. 'grin'
Will just wave for now to everyone.
TTFN~
