    Good Morning;

Poor Bob is so upset right now.  He was typing an article for the Rhode Island Red Chicken Club in England.  He has finally gotten good at remembering to save his stuff.  But this time it didn't do a bit of good.  He was typing the article and everything disappeared off the screen.  He reopened his article and it had disappeared.  He had been working on it four days so I know it was somewhere on the computer.  But when he open the file all he has is a blank document.  He is blaming the computer but I am afraid it just might be a user error.

I have done as much as I know how to do to help but there is only so much you can do.

Thought of the Day-Confidence is a must, happiness is a plus, eagerness is a rush, letting go is tough, never break a trust.

Today is Ask a Stupid Question Day. It's your opportunity to speak up, and to ask all those questions you were afraid to ask. All those questions that you thought were too stupid or dumb to ask, have been piling up all year long. Today is the day to unload them. C'mon give it a try. Nobody will laugh......I hope.

This may be a stupid question, but I will ask it anyway...... Teachers say there is no such thing as a stupid question. Or, that no question is too stupid to ask. If this is true, then why do your classmates laugh when you ask a question? Yes, kids can be cruel. But, if you have a question, there's no better place to ask, than in the classroom.

    Waving to Lesia!!

Special hugs and prayers for Anne, Betty, Merle, Sherry and Odell, Cilla, Cats, and Sally and Colleen.

And Don’t Forget the basket!! Keep it full of extra hugs and prayers for all that need them!!

Remember the group prayer! “Heavenly Father, we ask that you watch over and care for all Cookin’ Seniors and those they love as they go about their day!!

    Hugs

Rosie-Glad you are home.  I know there was at least one little fuzzy creature that was glad to see you.

Ann-enjoy the new dishwasher! Like the Lasagna Pie recipe!!  LOL No $13 marinate here $13 for the steak but it was good!! I told Bob to enjoy it cause it might be awhile before we have another like that.  The roasted garlic marinade was only $2-3.  Now that I know where to get it I will buy more.  The gremolata sound interesting.  Please post it!!

Sandy-I can sing along with up to most 80's music but that is about the end of my knowledge.

Mel-Hope your Mom feels better soon.

Penny-Ugg on the support for new computers.  That is why I have learned to do things myself.  Or know who locally to take it to so it can be worked on inhouse.  That is why I like surprisingly enough Staples.  Now that the tech guys there realize I know a little about them, they will answer my questions not look at me funny.  I'm old but still know a little about the workings in a computer.  Glad the computer is much better and you got to spend the afternoon with Miss A.

Tippy-Snow?? This early?? It just got to be fall!!

NancyZ-Nothing is more calming than good music in church.

Egee-Sounds like you cooked enough for an army.  I know it was good!

Cilla-I have been sneezing all day.  Must be something coming!!

    Night all and Hugs

Here's Moira's "Hello" for today.  Gotta have my coffee and breakfast so will be back later!!

Well, Good Morning to everyone out there! What a dreadfull dark rainy day it is today, the complete opposite of yesterday! Next month I will have been retired from my job as a Registered Nurse for a whole year, how quickly it has gone by, it's true what they say, tho' " don't know how I found time to work at all!" When I heard that from colleagues or friends I used to think " really!"I guess it's just that we never had the time or energy to do the things we love doing now. My husband is semi retired ( just helps out at work when they're busy or when they are short handed) so we are spending much more time together - an impossibility before because of work commitments. We have been married for 37 years! Sometimes I can hardly believe that myself! Yesterday I was looking for recipes to make different chutney to make as gifts for my friends for Christmas. Just to prove to them ( and myself) that I really am retired!!!! I think I've settled on Spicy red onion & Balsamic marmalade & green tomato. What do you think? Need to get a move on with it but I'm going to Cyprus in 2 weeks time for a break so will start when we come back at the end of October. So, that's all for today folks, should really be getting on with my jobs now. Hope all is good with everyone, Moira

Thanks Ann.  I just came over to do the same.  I did send her a friend request so I could suggest she join us on today's post since a lot of our friends really don't check the older post.

I had a delightful time at Panera's with my neighbor and his girl friend of 20 0r 30 years.  Wish I understood their relationship.  Obviously they love each other, go on trips, eat out every week, etc.  She is an artist and he is a lawyer.  Why have they never married?

It will be 70 today so it is slacks to go to the doctor to tell him I'm still glued together.  Nanb

Whoa - hold up 'thar Rosie dahlin - I need a fresh box 'o baking soda and a bottle of Saigon Cinnamon. Tried to get some at the store last night. Sigh. The shelves at the south side Walmart were deploreably empty. Gotta go to the north side of town to complete my grocery list. Heck, I couldn't even get a bottle of bleach. Four shelves and ALL empty of that product.

Went to sleep earlier than usual last night and so here I am up earlier too. Still dark out when I got up but would rather read the posts than lie in bed until time to get up.

Zora: I do have a stupid question that I have wondered about ever since I joined a long ways back. Why do you have the special hugs and prayers for a few of our people on each post?

Margaret: Of course we are your friends! She doesn't know what she is talking about.

Ann: Oh, you don't know what hunting season is like in N.M. this time of year! No sitting in rain and muck on cold boulders. Except for being cold first thing in the early mornings, usually it is beautiful fall weather. Now, I did say "usually". I used to go on hunting trips with my DF while I was growing up. We slept under the stars. No tent back then for us. He would spread down a canvas tarp for a ground sheet and we would put our bedrolls on that and pull the rest of the tarp up over us. I do remember one morning when I awoke and stuck my nose out only to find snow on top of the tarp! That was the only time I remember that happening though. My DF was elated as he could now see the deer tracks in the snow! Whoopee. However, most of the time, you start out with a coat and wind up with just a sweater.

Moira: Do enjoy your retirement time with your DH to the fullest. I lost my DH in 2003 and, looking back, we just didn't have the time to enjoy each other because of being "too busy" doing other things. If I could do it over, those "other things" could just be forgotten about!

NanB: It does seem strange, doesn't it? Maybe neither one wants to be "committed", that is all I could think of.

Penny: I do sympathize with your computer dilemma. Been there, done that. So frustrating.

Rosie: Hopefully, you will be on here later with your interesting "jabber", as you called it.

    Good morning, CS.

ZORA, poor Bob. But, like you said the article is out there somewhere. Bet, a computer geek could find it. I have been known to ask a dumb question.

MARGARET, did you get a nice, new flat screen TV? As for friends, our BB friends are the best just like you said.

Hi, MOIRA. I have been retired 22 years and like you said, how did we get things done when we were working. I am busy now, also. Glad you and DH are enjoying doing many things together now. Bet ANN will have some good suggestions or recipes for you.

NANCY B, a friend just sent me a Panera's gift card, so I will get there sometime this week.

ROSIE, I need a gallon of milk and some bananas. Thank you. Really----have a good day.

Truly a pain in the neck, BEVERLY, finding the empty shelves.

Good to see you here in morning, ANN B. I wouldn't mind a tent on a hunting trip, but the sky as my roof for the night, no thanks. You are a wild and wooly girl. I love it.

Early app't. with the opthamologist and then a meeting at the Sr. Center.

Hugs and prayers for all CS.

Good morning ladies, A cool morning in my neighborhood. I am loving it.  No plans for the day other than a little cleaning.

Zora - I know this isn't nice to say but now Bob knows how you felt dealing with the newsletter all those years.

Margaret - Hope you have had a good day. Enjoy that new TV.

Moira- After daddy retired when someone would ask him if he was enjoying it his answer was "I don't know, I've been to busy to find out." I guess that is the truth.

NancyB - There was a couple here like that. Her reason she said was she still loved her husband and would always stay Mrs. McWhorter.

    Was that Rosie running by.

Beverly - Sounds like a raid for pool cleaning stuff.

AnnB- I like you learned when my first husband died (age 34) that life was to short. When Mickey and I married I made a promise to myself that we would spend more time together. If he wanted to do something and the dishwasher wasn't loaded, the dishes just sat there. We had so many plans we never got the chance to complete.

NancyZ - I have to agree with you, I can tent camp, but don't think I could do it without one. Had campers and motor homes for so long don't know if I could even tent camp anymore.

Hope everyone has a great day. Gonna have another cup of coffee and check out FB and Rosie's blog.  See you all later.

Hugs, love, and prayers for all.

Good morning my winderful CS friends; Out of my window it is already getting too warm for me. It got up in the high 90's yesterday and looks like the same today. Doesn't look much like fall to me except there are a few trees begining to change. Hope all had a great Sunday. After church we went to Mom's to check on her and she is feeling better but not right yet. App. some time this week. The two Hubbies worked on Mom's porch and got it finished. It looks like old time brick but it is a large 18 by 18 rubber material that clips together on the back. Looks great. While H was doing that I was running around picking up kids for Praise Band practice at 4. Miss J. and the other kids are really excited about it. This new kid that Jonte' invited to church on Wed. 2 weeks ago, she found out that he plays lead guitar, base guitat, keyboard, and drums. So guess who joined the band. He is amazing, doesn't read a bit of music. Miss J. told him he was sent by God to help bless everyone with his talents and to use what he was given to minister in his own special way.  I heard that in the car on way to practice and Grammy---busting buttons.

Zora---Probably right----the user. I know there is a way to retrieve lost stuff. My Dad found some of my stuff I thought was for ever lost. Have a good sleep oh fearless leader.Sleep

Pennybrown---I think I am going to have to buy a new computer some day . mine is so slow, it is one my Dad rebuilt for me. Say Hi to Miss A.

Moira---Welcome friend, So nice to meet you . Thanks for joing us for all of our fun and good food. I am Melrose from mel'skitchen in Oklahoma. Married 32 years to the same man.LOL Raising Grand Daughter Jonte' or Miss J.She is 14 , great student, dancer, drummer, and helps with youth ministry at church. Yes We are proud. Anyway you will love it here. So many wonderful CS that love to share their trials and most of all laughs. So cool to have a newby from the UK.

Brenda---Cool trick with the lettuce. I also put paper towel to help with moisture, That's scary!!!! probably should call cops. Must be something I caught from you, I woke up at 3am and could not go back to sleep.

Nanb---Have fun at doctors!!!   ZOOM ZOOM!

Tippy---Wow, I can't believe that! sniow already! Cool!!!! Save me a piece of that cake. I can eat it like this---no calories or sugar.

    Egee---that sounds crazy good.

Cilla---Love your siggy---I have all of my Fall stuff out. Need some more flowers though.  Back to Hobby Lobby. I like my doc. app. early too just tio get them over with and they don't screw up my whole day. I have to DRAG MYSELF anyway. Might as well be when I want to go.

    Mabel---~~~~~~~HAPPY BIRTHDAY ~~~~~~~ a little late!!!!!Cake

Margaret---So, are you ready for winter???? Like your siggy

Wldtxrose---No but thanks Rosie. I already spent all of my money at the Grocery store Sat. Can't believe the prices.Looks like lots of beans and rice on the menu.

    NancyZ---Have a great Day sweetie.

Well gang, I best go for now. House cleaning to do and MT. Washemie growing. After school the kids are decorating the freshman float for homecoming. Been a while sence I have done that.  Love you guys, hugs and prayers for all.

Hello from Indiana, another pretty day, chilly but lots of sunshine, rain coming in for the rest of the week, will throw a monkey wrench is DH's farming work.

Hmmmm, I could have sworn I posted last night, went back to read anything I missed yesterday & saw nothing from me in the evening....maybe I did maybe I didn't.....gremlins again.

Zora.....poor Bob, can't find his material, know just how upsetting that is.  Yep, I too have some computer knowledge, but not a lot, thankfully I have Miss A's Daddy to help me out...but sometimes I have to make those phone calls, thank goodness it's not too frequent, I'd be crazier than I all ready am....LOL!

Margaret....LOL....yep, my CS friends may be virtual, but sometimes better than the real thing....can turn them off if I want to...LOL!

Ann.....thanks so very much for moving Moira.....!

Moira.....oh bless your heart, takes a special person to be a nurse, just ask Zora, her hubby is a nurse & my daughter is also, not easy.

NanB....hope you get a good report at the doctors office....I just hate going.

Rosie.....yep, I need some head lettuce.....see ya later.

    AnnB....nope, this gal isn't a camper....LOL.....want a nice hot shower & a soft bed.

NancyB.....hope all is well at the eye doctors, I need to get that done pretty soon, just keep putting it off.

Brenda....loved your pretty fall picture this morning, soooo pretty....fall being my favorite time of year.

Mel.....WOW, that Miss J sure is a blessing, just love listening to them when they don't know it, you can learn a lot.

Hmmmm, now that I think about it, I know darn good & well I posted last evening, wonder what happened to it?

Made a trip to our local apple orchard about an hour ago, have tons of apple recipes that I love to make this time of year & always get a ton of apples, one of DH's favorite things.  Well, imagine my surprise when I walked in, not an apple to be had in the place, they did have cider & their homemade applesauce donuts, just stood there with my mouth open, couldn't believe it.  They decided to use what apples they got this year for the cider, all that warm March weather was the downfall of this crop, then the big freeze got all the blooms, just broke my heart!

Had a nice visit with DD, her DH & of course the adorable Miss A, the girl owns this place....LOL....she is such a hoot!!  I took her outside to play while her Daddy did some computer work for me, other wise he can't get it done with her around.

Had to call the dentist office this morning, DH has been having crown work done, they estimated our portion would be $240, well, got the bill & it was $422....kind of a big difference there....not their fault, darned insurance companies.  His staff is just so nice to deal with & I sure do appreciate their kindness.  Always take them a dish of cookies & fudge at Christmas time.

Ok, better get back to being busy, haven't turned the heat on in the house, but did turn the little heater on in the dining room to take the chill off, big ole frost last night.

Hope everyone has a good day, see ya later.

Well, I am back…had to stop by the bank to cash in a CD to pay for the groceries…yikes!  Heebie Jeebie’s has wonderful yellow coupons, I got a lot of stuff very cheap or free and still paid right at $200.  One of the coupons was for free cocktail sauce and free Cajun seasoning when you bought two pounds of Gulf shrimp….easy cheesey, shrimp chalupas are on the menu for tomorrow night and I can always have left over shrimp to do something with.  “Yes mam, those are $10.98/lb.”  Gads, I’ll make my own cocktail sauce…but those where the gigantic ones and the ones I wanted were $4.98 and I still got the freebies.

OK, all you lettuce lovers…have you discovered butter lettuce with the roots still attached?  It doesn’t grow but it doesn’t go bad either.  It is $3.48 here but it is always fresh, and we use it all up without throwing out a slimy yucko head of goo.  Try it, you’ll like it!

Zora, have you tried A. searching for a unique word in the document  B. restoring the computer to a day last week?  I can only imagine how totally hacked he is!  You’re right that little fuzzy bologna was happy as a lark….and she is a total Daddy’s girl.  If I would admit it, I was pretty glad to see her too.

Margaret, one of my long time computer (now real life) friends wife called us his “imaginary friends” because we didn’t really exist.   Tell you one thing, y’all are always here if I need to vent,  cry, share some happiness, or get advise….and there are plenty in real life that can’t be counted on.  Yay for your new TV….think we are going to have to bite the bullet before long.

Moira, the chutney sounds lovely.  Did I mention that we are all your new friends and will be even better friends by Christmas (innocently looking in fridge for a place to put the chutney).  Oh how I envy your trip to Cyprus, iit just sounds so scenic.  Hope you take lots of pictures for us.

NanB – possible previous marriage and religious views don’t mesh?  I have heard of men having a fear of commitment but that is ridiculous!

Beverly, probably couldn’t have gotten your missing items had I seen your list…our shelves were empty too.  Of course all the stockers were busily reloading them with carts, buggies, fork lifts or whatever in the middle of the aisle.

AnnB, nothing interesting really, but it is jabber….loved hearing about your camping out, what precious memories that left with you.  Haven’t read much, but did you get Ranger’s coat made?  Marti is willing to loan him hers but doesn’t think a macho man like him would want to wear pink.

Nancy, got both bananas and milk, but I don’t deliver.  You will have to come and get them.  I’ve only had the sky for a roof one time and it was the most awesome experience…on the coast (in Texas there is only one coast…the Gulf of Mexico) under a clear starlit sky.  You could have reached up and plucked the stars …breathtaking experience.

Oh Brenda, our naughty trip side showed up….I was thinking no wonder Zora did the newsletter for all those years….LOL.  Nothing new on the blog, still working at the pictures from Brenham.  Just finishing up the first afternoon’s lot.  That is the place with all the history to add to the pictures too…interesting and fun to visit but having trouble organizing so it won’t put you to sleep.

Mel how proud you must have been overhearing that conversation.  I’d say you have a keeper on your hands.  Sure hope Mama Mel feels better soon.

Penny, I am crushed!!!  You turn us off?  I thought you checked every few minutes to see what wonderous things we were sharing with you.  Sheese…can’t trust anyone any more.  Just bought a couple of Granny Smiths to make some apple pie bread I saw on Pinterest.  Just sounded so good.  I had bought some before and someone who calls me “Mom” ate one of them, and someone who calls me “hon” fed the other one to the donkeys.

Couch is calling…I’m arguing with it and thinking to work on the pictures and blog some more…flipping coin….heads it was….me and the iPad are on the way to the couch and the taped Voice shows.  Go Team Blake!

Hugs and prayers to each of you because YOU are loved!

Moira - don't believe these people when they say I'm the blabbermouth of the group...it is all a figment of their imagination, I am  quiet, shy and retiring.
