"Cookin Seniors" Chat - Monday, November 26, 2007
Good morning one and all.
Hope Zora and Bob had a safe trip up north. I can't open like I used to yet because all the pieces aren't in place on the new computer. But I can say good morning and wish anyone who is having a special day a happy happy..please let us know if you are, that list is also one that has to be coaxed out of the old computer.
Was able to copy the prayer, but since I'm not a Bon Jovi fan particularly I'll leave that piece of morning greeting behind.
Hugs and prayers to each of you because YOU are loved.
“Heavenly Father, we ask that you watch over and care for all the Cooking Seniors and those they love as they go about their day."

Sue, what a icky weekend to go camping at Salado. My brother left here mid afternoon Saturday and it took him 2.5 hours to get home to Ausin on 35. Walt took Scott 281, Stone Oak, Huebner and it was dry most of the way and little traffic...go figure. We are a mixed family, some Aggies and some tu sippers with one small group of Red Raiders. TG is a battle royal around here, but we are smiling big in this house this year. My thumb hurts :)
Cilla, breathe honey, in..out..in..out...in...out there ya go. Good thoughts going with DH today.
Waving at sweet Joyce, hope my opening in the mornings the next three days doesn't keep you away.
Beth, whining doesn't become you. You are lucky I am able to wake up early...I barely and I mean barely made it through Amazing Race last night before I collapsed into a pile of protoplasm. Did you actually get some rest yesterday?
Pat, thank you, the cardinal thing has been bugging me. It may be after Christmas but I'll send you a CD with the cardinals on it. Had two males fighting over one female a couple of days ago, haven't seen but the one male since so guess that was settled.
Merle, yesterday was MY mother's birthday too. How neat...
Nancy, one set of my Christmas cards have cardinals too, one set has Lois's German Chocolate Thumbprint cookies, and two other sets are waiting for Christmas decorations to come out so I can take a picture to stick in them.
Sandy, how's your hubby this morning? Hope he is feeling better.
Randi, I am so sorry about your BIL's mom. She sounds like a real feisty gal. So can I quit making cookies now? There is no more counter space :).
Hi Beverly..cold are you? 3" and counting? Give me ten minutes to grab my flip flops and I'll fly down to CR with hyou. Hope your hubby is out of pain today, and the doctor has good news about the cough.
Hi Cats! How nice of Walmart. They could so easily have said "prove it".

Oh, great, I see it didn't keep you away, Joyce...hii and hugs and sweet dreams to you lady!
Lynne, gently hugs, my friend. I hope you made it through church without too much difficulty.
Hi Penny, how's your momma this morning, have you heard anything? Scarey. Not hinting or nuttin, but you got any leftovers? That swiss steak sounds so good.
Grace, I so feel for you, and wish I could take my share of the pain. Glad to hear they are diminishing somewhat even if just a tiny bit a day. Thank you so much for keeping us up to date on V.
Hi Paula! Oooo I bet your house smelled good yesterday with all the cooking going on.
I need to finish Christmas cards today. If you haven't sent me your snail mail addy, please do...and let me know if you do NOT want to share it with other Seniors. use the throw down email wldtxrose at gmail.com. Thanks.
If you do NOT NOT NOT (emphasis on NOT) want your address shared with other Seniors (only) please let me know. That goes for those of you whose addy's I have gotten from the swaps or other places...otherwise I will share the address list. Bear in mind some are buried deep in the old computer so don't assume I have it please. (Leisa, that was directed at you my friend).
So I'm off to get started!

6 of us played cards Sat. nite. One of our group moved back to her home town - where her 3 kids are- and we miss each other so much (she was my best friend here). I took my cell phone with me and surprised her with a call from ALL of us. It was great! She said she really misses us and I told her it was bec we were smart enuf to stay in Fla.! It is freezing where she is! Oh, yes, it snowed hard in my home town yesterday, so I will continue basking in the 80's here. Nancy B

RE:
Good Monday Morning,
I do hope it will be a happy day for all.
Special hugs for Anne and prayers for"V"
Now I will tell you all a secret. I have NO IDEA who Bon Jovi is... That shows you how much out of the loop I am... ha snicker, snort gigggle. I'm just an old fuddy duddy.
Son and DIL staying with us for a while. Played cards last night till Amazing Race came on. I hate it when the programs come on so late. It inteferred with my Desperate housewives. Geesh... almost a whole hour late. Messed up my video taping.
Played 32 and of course I was first one out all times.
Coffee in Randi's kitchen sounds great. Any goodies on the platter.
Ventured out for one day ( 2 hrs ) of shopping.. That will be my limit I think for this Chritmas. I couldn't believe the crowds. All I hear on the news is how bad the ecomony is but someone forgot to tell the people who were on the way to and from stores and in stores ..
Thinking of all. Sandy

RE:
Good golly it's Monday already.
Morning all!
DH wants to go to urgent care right after work today. He has had a problem with his ear for about a month and thinking it was a cold and would go away. It hasn't and so now he is ready to do something about it.
Trying to get back in the swing of a routine today. We had a long weekend and I can't say it was productive but it was good.
Take care all!

RE:
Top of the morning!!!!
Oh Yaaahhh.
I missed you all so much but kept telling myself, "I lived without a computer for years, I lived without a computer for years."
Didn't help much. LOL
Don't know what happened but my computer guy told me to run a disc scan(because of the problems I was having) and when I did it refused to turn back on. CC (where I bought it) told me that it probably crashed and I lost everything. My computer guy brought it back to me complete yesterday. I'm doing the dance of joy!
I did pour over the past posts with deep concern. Keeping all who are in need of prayer close to my heart. That's one thing that drove me crazy was having no way of knowing how my CS friends (and families) were doing.
ROSIE~~Waving to you this morning and thanking you for opening. I don't like BonJovi either. Doubt he is the original one to quote that term anyway as I remember hearing it as a child. LOL
Great big hugs going out to each of you and lots of prayers being said.
I have oddles of things to put on the platter this morning. Funny how much I get done with no computer. 'smile'
Help yourselves to chewy ginger cookies, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cake. And PLEASE take those Girl Scout cookies and bury them someplace for me. 'chubby grin'
Collective wave~

Good morning everyone. amazing what a good rest can do for a cold.
Yeah, seems to me the Keep the faith thing originated in the 60's. Wasn't it a quote from HAIR?
Did anyone see that? DH took me to the aquarius to see it when he was "a courtin" me. I almost died of embarassment, but looking back, it was a pretty funny play.
Phone man comes today. So after that I will have to be off line unless he hooks up more than one line. I forgot to buy the splitter box. how stupid is that?
Rosie, it measured out to 85 sq. feet of counter space, so no, I don't think you have filled it. LOL.
It is raining and warmed up today. Although damp and overcast, sure beats Jack frost any day. Everyone have a wonderful wonderful week.

Hi again...sitting here procrastinating cleaning up after Critter and Company. Have the camera set up for the breakfast bunch. Sparrows, the male cardinal, and of all things a mockingbird (who do NOT feed at feeders) have been by. We have also had, just not this morning, blue jays, titmice and a chickadee along with some light lime green bird I don't know what is.
Gail, sure hope your dh's ear has an easy and quick cure. Coming off long weekends is hard.
YAYYYYYY our Tippy has returned. Making a pig of myself on the cookies and if those are GS mints they are MINE! So glad you aqre back, I've missed you.
Randi, I have been in your kitchen baking since yesterday afternoon...85' or not those counters are FULL!!
The sparrows are back, such cute little critters.

Good morming all!
It's getting warm!!! Supposed to hit 70 today.
Think I'll go shopping today and see if I can pick up some little odds and ends. I have all my big gifts already except for my dh. I should think about doing some Christmas cards also.
Rosie, thanks for opening.
I agree with most of you, I don't care for Bon Jovi.
NancyB, cards are what is played when all my family gets together. I always say I was born with a deck of cards in my hands instead of the silver spoon.
Woke up way to early this a.m. with sinus problems again. Took some pills and am now breathing.
Well dh is up so time for breakfast before he heads to the golf course.
Will be back lataer.

Good morning from a dark & cloudy Indiana, it's 40 out there so kind of chilly too.
Rosie.......thanks for opening this morning. Mother seemed to be ok yesterday afternoon, got a terrible cut, bump on her forehead, knees are very sore & a skin tear on her right hand, didn't seem disoriented, she knew me. DD didn't go yesterday, had a bad cold & the beginnings of an earache, going to doctor today. Had some taters & carrots leftover from yesterday, would be more than glad to share, come on.........LOL!
Going shopping this afternoon, maybe I can finish this up then get started on the wrapping. Have to run off my address labels, will do that when I get done here.
Hope Bob & Zora have a safe trip.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Snow partially melted yesterday. Of course it froze last night. The yard must do a whole lot more thawing before I can pooper scoop as I'm just not into hacking frozen doo from the ground. Lol.
Cool sunlight is spreading its yellow glow across the yard.
29* with 78% humidity and to reach 56* this afternoon.
Speaking of thawing, need to get a package of chicken breast from the freezer and go break ice on the outdoor water troughs.

Good morning, CS.
A quick stop, this morning. Lots of errands, today. So, I will be driving and that means extra stops, too.
I have to finish up some purchases, too. So, that will be a trip by myself. And, I walk the mall a couple of rounds before I start shopping.
Prayers for all.
