"Happy Birthday Sandy"
Hope you have a great day.
HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY EVERYONE!!!!!
Happy Birthday Sandy.
Well, today is the day everyone is Irish, whether they are or not. Me, I'm 1/2 Irish all the time. LOL. Have several CD's I play of Irish songs when I'm driving. Anyone like Danny O'Donnell?
We had thunder/rain/hail and wind storm roll thru here about 5:30 this morning but all is gone, the sun is out and the birds are singing away. Supposed to get to 80 again today. We've broken temperature records here every day this past week I believe.
Cheri sooooo enjoyed the pictures, interesting to see other parts of the world and their animals and landscaping. Oh that ash is just awful.
Zora thanks for posting them for us. Also enjoyed the pictures of Bob, his boat and fish.
Spent time yesterday trimming down the rose bushes, then we got rain this morning, good thing for them. Also got out the bird bath and clothes line. Need to get up my finch feeders and get them outside so they can come feast. Love watching them hang upside down when they eat. I have those feeders right outside my kitchen window so I can look out and see them all the time.
Ann hope your db is doing better. I do understand how you feel and maybe you need to practice using the word No sometimes. Isn't there somewhere he can go live that he wouldn't be on his own and take some of the burden off you and your Mom? Hugs and prayers to you.
Penny have fun at the park today if that's where you take the gkids. With this weather they should love being outside and tired when they get back home. Gds and others went to the ice skating rink last night to skate. Told dil that he'll be tired and quiet when he gets back there.
Brenda sun tea is all I make during the warm months we have here. As a matter of fact I've had several glasses of it since I made it the other day. One thing missing is I don't have any lemon slices to add to it so will make sure I get some when I go to the store the next time.
I will be "smelling" up the house tomorrow with corned beef and cabbage. Dh had to work today and don't want to eat it tonight so we'll do it tomorrow. Love the left over cb in sandwiches as well.
Trying to pick a color for the kitchen walls, what I think I like is too dark, others are too light. I've got those "little" swatches hanging all over the kitchen. Have to decide on something soon as the painter will be here on the 26th to do both ceilings(kitchen/family room) and paint the kitchen so I have to decide and let him know as he said he'd pick up the paint for me.
Doreen, safe travels.
Wishing everyone a great day.
Nan
Just running through as the grands are here & they can't be quiet for very long.
A very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our favorite gal in Michigan....sure do hope you have a great day & hope John is doing better.
Zora....was able to re-set my homepage. Yep, tried shutting down last night & starting over, didn't work, same thing this morning, that's when I re-set homepage. Will have to search around later to re-do the tool bar.
Margaret....thanks for the tip about the star on the right, will give it a look see when the kids aren't here.....just can't think with them chattering.
Egee.....Ha....got so tickled at you & the bushes....sigh. When this one goes on a rant I just look at him & say well....in Jims world....LOL....he gets it!! Ewwww....can't imagine not washing new clothes, don't even want to know what goes on when sewing.....like you said.......MEN!
Ok, pushing my luck by posting, need to take the kids to the park, they've been pretty good since they got here, time for lunch too. See you later this evening if I'm able....LOL!
Hope everyone has a great St. Pattys Day.

Good morning ladies, "Happy St. Patricks Day" to each of you. Rain and thunderstorms most of the night. We were only suppose to have a 30 percent chance. Somebody missed the mark. At least there was nothing severe. Washed some pollen away that is a good thing.
Zora - Thanks for the tip on the Kraft stuff. You could probably make your own and it be better. I agree if you had bought the trout.
Margaret - Glad to hear all went well with Sophie.
Lois - If you did two quilts you have been busy. Like they say "time flies when you're having fun".
Sandy - Good to hear John is improving even if it is slowly. Walker sounds like a good idea. Certainly do not need a broken bone to go with the injured foot.
Beverly - See we found the same card for Sandy. lol Love to watch the midget wrestling, don't care for the big guys. Midget ones are so cute.
Tippy - Thank you for the you tube link. I love it also. Scenery is beautiful.
Doreen - Sounds as if Whiskey has settled in fine. Chipper was that way when we got him. Picked him up on a Sat. and left on Thurs. for the beach. You would have thought he had been an RV'er all his life. I do miss the little guy. Have fun and stay safe.
Rosie - You did have a busy day. At least Martha Stewart makes it easy for your Martha to decide. She already has everything together. Course he still has to choose one. lol I'm sure he works on putting things together for a few hours along with a few ##$%@@$%. Then he reads the instructions. Works every time.
Tippy - Unplanned outings are always the best. I love to just up and go do something. The flying thing would be in my mind ahead of everything else. If I can't drive it, not sure if I want to go. Marley and Me is a wonderful but sad movie. I cried, so you and rosie are probably better off not watching. I almost flooded the livingroom.
Edgee - I agree on the memories. Some I can laugh at and others I would still like to knock him upside the head. lol
Cheri - Love, love, loved the pictures. Beautiful country. Was good to see you and CP also. I keep a folder on my computer of my CS ladies. Will have to move one of you and CP over. Love it when we can put a face with a name. Marley is a yellow lab and the movie is about the life of her and her owners.
Cilla - I also have Irish ancestors somewhere down the line on Daddy's side. Abbie can spy a squirrel a mile away. The home she was in when I got her had a fenced in back yard and the dogs could go outside. There was a squirrel who would tease her. The lady said they were so funny to watch. She still doesn't like them much. If you're cooking the corned beef and cabbage no need for me to. I am out the door and on my way. lol Love Maxine today.
Nan - Got a tea jar with a spout. I'm gonna try my luck at sun tea. I had rather be shot than make a pitcher of tea. Don't know why but I always have. Hate picking paint colors. I will usually get the sample can's when I sorta decide. When I did the kitchen I had stripe's of different colors on the wall for weeks.
Will be back later. To pretty to stay indoors and at home. Think I will take Ab's and see what old cemeteries we can explore. Have a great day.
Hugs, love, and prayers for all.
Brenda
Here's my story. I used to drive my husband absolutely nuts cuz when he drove, I couldn't help putting my foot out to brake or using body language or worse, telling him to watch out. One day I decided I was NOT going to do anything and I didn't - and that was the day he scraped a car fender! NanB
Afternoon, all! I just took the 5 pounds of grey corned beef out of its savory cooking liquid...Bill will slice it after it rests a bit. I took the aromatic veggies out of the broth and will discard them when they are cool. Broth will be used to cook potatoes, parsnips, carrots, turnip, onions and cabbage at supper time. I will rewarm the beef, of course, in some broth. Cooking lots of veggies so I can make hash tomorrow. Will put the hash in zipper lock bags to freeze. Want to save some for Mother's Day brunch... Irish Eggs Benedict. Made fresh horseradish to go with dinner tonight...whew! Pungent! Wore my old swim goggles to process the root and then mixed it with water, vinegar, sugar and salt. Happy "pain" tonight!!!!
I'm pooped...nap time....will check in later or tomorrow morning. Waving to all and sending hugs. Happy Birthday, Sandy!!! 'Tis a grand day you had to be born!!!
Ann
LOL @ Nanb, wasn't that an ah ha moment when he scraped the fender?
Brenda, will you and Abs stop by for me on the way to Cilla's. Love corned beef but not going to cook it just for me. Oh, and you and Abs should come over to the Cherry Blossom Festival. Can take you to all the old homes and churches. And I have plenty of old family cemeteries you can visit. Mother story = she called me at work and said 'Marie (the lady who stayed days) and I have had the best day'. I asked what they had done, she said 'we went to see all the dead relatives'! They go back six generations!
Just had collards and cornbread! Gained six pounds the last two months, sitting in the cave, gorging on sweets, snacks and anything else I could get my hands on. So, two days, not eating between meals and eating good stuff. Night before last I got a grilled chicken salad from DQ, enough for lunch yesterday too. Then I cooked the collards = in the crock pot, on the porch so not to smell up the house. All sweets are out of the house!
Wishing Sandy a very Happy Birthday just before I run off. Have a special day with your honey and don't drink too much green beer. We have a birthday in our large extended family as well. Hope your husband's foot continues to heal.
We're heading out in a few minutes. Just wanted to say hello and I'll have to catch up with all the posts when we get back late Sunday or Monday.
Busy day here, but wanted to stop in and Hi.
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY to all.
Hugs and prayers for all CS.
Nancy Z.
The bulk of the crowd went home and left me with 3 of the grands. They are stamping and making cards while 'Papa' gets ready to go with us.
CHERI!!!!! I am so appreciative! Thank you so much.
I was just talking about you this morning to my DS. He assured me that it's more like hunting deer to hunt those native guanaco. I feel better, for some reason. 'grin'
DH is telling us "Let's Roll"
Talk to you all later.
Tippy
Zora - This is a "Show Girl Silkie" does Bob have any of these. This is the wierdest chicken I have ever seen. There are a couple online yardsale's. The one for all things animal had this on it, the girl raise's them.
Good afternoon ladies, Hope you have had a great day. Ab's and I rode a bit to see what we could find. Mainly just to get out of the house. Changed flower's out on all the graves I keep up. Don't know who will do it when I'm gone.
Penny - Glad to see you have survived the day so far. I'm sure they have had a good time.
NanB - Thanks for my laugh of the day. Love it.
Edgee - Heck I could stop at your house and have collards and cornbread. Love them. I have never cooked collards in the crock pot. I have a hot plate and I use it on the porch for collards and rutabaga's.
JP , Lois, hope you both have had a great day.
Tippy - Hope the movie will be good. Haven't been to one in a while. Enjoy!!
Hoping all of you have a good nights rest. See you all tomorrow.
Hugs,
Evening, glad to get in my chair this evening, had a good day with the kids. Didn't have any problems with them at all. Since Jacobs been on meds I really enjoy having them. I'm telling you, before meds I pretty much refused to watch them, just couldn't handle it....completely different child. Of course Katie was just as bad as him, so between the two of them it wasn't fun having them around. Now that he's calmed down she's better too....learned behavior.
Had a nice time up at the park, we played for about an hour & a half, then home & DH had the big tractor waiting, so he took them for a ride while I got cleaned up, took them to IHOP for dinner, Katie ate a whole pancake the size of a dinner plate, fruit on it too, couldn't believe she ate so well.
Ok, just wanted to let you know I survived the day. DH got an old NCIS on TV, so guess we'll be watching that. Hope everyone has a great evening, see you tomorrow.
Happy Birthday, Sandy! Hope it was a great one.
Zora: Those that size are not too good to eat? You could have fooled me! Shows how much I know about fresh fish!
Rose: Do post your Pretzel recipe, okay?
Doreen: It sounds like Whiskey is have more fun!
Cheri: Oh, that is what a guanaco is! Has anyone ever tried to domesticate one, I wonder? You said their hair is shorter but I wonder if it could be used as llama's hair is.
It is rather late and I had a busy day. Fire meeting/training until 12:30 p.m., still had to take time to do a corned beef in my slow cooker then make Colcannon, frost those sugar free cupcakes for tomorrow, send out the notices of the Extension Club meeting on Wed., and fix supper for us. Ranger got a treat tonight as he got the parts of the corned beef we didn't want! DD says his tummy is like a little drum!
Anyway, now I am tired and going to call it a day, kick off my shoes and just watch TV for a while. That is mindless enough!
