    Good Morning:

"I'll have Another" won the Derby today.  I rooted for somebody that came in 4th I think mainly cause he wore yellow.  For a change I had no idea who was running or anything about them.

Oh and Doreen!! I did watch the bottom of the 9th inning of the Arizona game.  I have no idea why the nice boys on the Bay Bears have to be associated with a team that actually wears legless lizards on their uniforms.

LOL I sound like I did nothing today but watch the 1/3 of the last inning of a baseball game and the Derby.  And actually that was all I did except make the bed, unload the dishwasher and fix hot dogs for supper.  Boy I am energetic.

Thought of the Day-"Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends for it is one of God’s best gifts. It involves many things, but above all the power of going out of one’s self and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another." -Thomas Hughes

Today is Beverage Day, a chance to kick back with your favorite beverage and enjoy the day. The term "beverage" is broadly defined. So, we're talking about celebrating all beverages today.

Beverage Day should be a day of pleasure and relaxation. Grab a bottle, can, a glass, or a six-pack of your favorite beverage. Sit down in a comfortable chair..... indoors or out. Slowly sip and savor your drink. Life is good!

BE BOLD! Take advantage of Beverage Day to try a beverage that you have never had before.

     Waving to Lesia!!

Special hugs and prayers for Anne, Betty, Merle, Sherry and Odell, Cilla, Cats, and Sally and Colleen.

And Don’t Forget the basket!! Keep it full of extra hugs and prayers for all that need them!!

Remember the group prayer! “Heavenly Father, we ask that you watch over and care for all Cookin’ Seniors and those they love as they go about their day!!”

    Hugs

A Peoria hospital recently bought a milllion dollar machine to make back surgery more accurate which is wonderful but too late for me.  Two surgeons told me they wouldn't even consider sawing on me, much to my relief!

My son just loves my new 11" computer which is nice since his is the most expensive Caterpillar could buy him.  It is weird that my other one died since it was plugged into a surge protector and the TV and mwave were not affected by the storms so maybe some other factor was responsible.  I never liked it bec it was so heavy (4 yrs old) so I am GLAD I can get rid of i.

I may look weird all week as I will wear clothes NOT going home with me.  NanB

Morning all,  Well I set this thing to update my virus protector--Advast!--when I went to bed and I  think that gremlins have gotten in instead.  For example I've had to set the font size to 18pt and you can see that it's bold instead.  Also, I can't find my favorites tab, please any ideas?

Went to bed early last nite, just got to sleep and DS called and woke me up.  I went right back to sleep and slept 9 hours, guess I needed it.  Today is church and then I'm going to go sit by the water and see if I can't make some progress on Marcy's shawl.

Have a good day all.  NO I didn't change a thing.  Please any help will be appreciated.  Pat

    Good morning!

Got semi caught up yesterday (well got the blog filled with the trip pictures) and now I can concentrate on leaving Saturday for Kansas.  This social life is going to kill me yet.  LOL.  Sorry Zora, I was part of that slow scene…but mine was racing and blogging.

Mel we will start with the bad news..yeah I got another email.

Zora, I was like you … shoot I didn’t even know it was Derby Day.  However, because I didn’t, I chose by how the past few days went and picked I’ll Have Another to win….LOL.   Gasp!!  Legless lizards on a uniform?  What were they thinking?????  You come over and I guarantee you won’t be going to chicken shows….Doreen and I will make sure of that!

Margaret, the cake sounds cute.  I think you got a bit confused, it was Brenda that asked for the rain and you sent it to us….thank goodness!!  Rained all night, now it can stop!  If you have a garden rake you lose an excuse…”Oh I would do the lawn but I don’t have a rake”.

Nancy, don’t you know “dust art” is the current rage?  Dust etchings, dust bunnie sculptures, unknown media collages???

Cilla, hope you made it through the traffic.  I’ve been part of the race crowd there (every year for the spring race) and it isn’t fun…and if you are caught in a rain out and needing the restroom it certainly isn’t.  LOL.

Oh Brenda, you “quack” me up.  Heheheheh I did like the end other than McClure’s wreck.

Tippy, hugs for Mama Tippy, I hope she can relax a little.  And hugs for you dear lady.  I thought of you when we were at the “big tree” on Goose Island.  You would have loved that one!  Wow, I know Naomi’s House is going to benefit from that windfall…whooohoooo.  Kelly’s twin is an angel for sure.  Bless that little girl’s heart thinking it was her mom.

Penny, there is something wrong with graham crackers and peanut butter????  Ooops.  Don’t work yourself to death in that room, we can’t see behind the curio cabinet.  Plus see my post to Nancy.

Nan, as much as I love cars and such I think I would have sent the boys off to bond too.  Hope they had a ball and you found some time to just vegetate.  Love geraniums.

NanB, deep breath girl….you are flying low.  Happy for you with the computer.   You were meant to have it!

Willie it just ticks me off when the publisher changes the cover without a big “hey you…this is a reprint”.  I used to read voraciously and usually am 1/3 of the way through before I put it down because I remember the rest of the book.  Very annoying.  At least with my favorite authors I catch new releases, and if it has been out more than a month I know I have read it.  Sorry, I can’t feel sorry for you on the petite sizes…mumble mumble reaching for another cookie.

Egee, while I was flitting around I must have missed the apartment announcement.  Is this for the summer or permanently?  Whatever will all those pie eating good looking men do without you?  Enjoy whichever it is…I envy you since I always love an adventure.

Pat, sorry I can’t help with the computer thing.  I know to punch a button and that is about it.  Sitting by the water sounds lovely.  Enjoy.

Need to run in and pick up some meds for Mom as soon as it quits thundering and then it will be back to climb Mt. Washa TON and start making lists for Kansas.  First is breakfast though!  Egg McRosie washed down with OJ.

Hugs and prayers for each of you because YOU are loved!

    And I have another message....

We will see very little if any of our Doreen for a few days.  She tried to chew gum and walk at the same time, backed off the concrete slab they were parked on and fell....breaking her arm!   Poor thing is in a half cast, very swollen, and trying to do everything one handed.  Still very sore and doesn't think she can type well until after she gets the full cast on later this week.  Mark is being a knight in shining armor, but he can't do everything.

I think their plans are to head over here on Tuesday or Wednesday to have a ortho guy check her out.  I wanted an extra day or two with her but not this way.

Anyway, if I hear more from her (which I will because I will call her tomorrow) I'll let you know.  Prayers for quick healing and less pain would be appreciated I'm sure.

Where are all of you people?  It must be that church is just getting out!  I attended the Crystal Cathedral and heard an outstanding sermon by the grandson of Dr. Schuller(sp?)  He looks like a kid but guess he is a pastor.  I don't know what is going on out there.  Some months ago Dr. S left in disapproval, others took over to say they are returning to the previous philosophy (I never was aware of any changes, ever) and guest pastors come - even the son of Dr. S, who had left the church several years ago in disapproval.

I went to Walgreen's to pick up my pills and I just finished going thru the picnic basket, which is where I throw misc in all winter.  Some has to go home with me.

Gotta get busy again - a week from today I'll be on my way to the airport.  NanB

Just wanted to let you know what the gremlins were.  Somehow google chrome got put on here.  it's gone now!

I've had two showers today, one when I got up and another unwanted one as I left church.  Don't think I've seen it rain so hard in a very long time.  It's been dry since I got  home, but I'm hearing thunder again so may get some more.  I didn't go down by the water and guess I'll stay home now.  DS was here to get the tractor and then start his mowing.  Have a feeling that a drowned rat will be coming in before he leaves for home.  Guess I'll make some rice pudding for him.

Hope that the rain gets out of the system before next Thur.  Sure don't rain for The Past Passed Here.  Talk to you later.  Pat

We arrived in TN and it's hot!! Geez...

I have an infection...don't know if it's a tooth or what but the R side of my face is swollen & hot to touch & blood red. My teeth do not hurt when I brush my teeth with the sonic toothbrush. I didn't get much sleep last night. I know I have to have an antiboitic whether it is teeth or something else infected. Thank God there is a good Doc-in-the-box in Maryville. We are fixing to head back there. Hopefully they will give me some pain pills because this HURTS!!! Later to read everything....

Good afternoon ladies,  I made it. Been here a while, got settled in and then went for lupper (lunch & supper). Got back and was just chilling out. Watching the race. Don't want to miss the big one. They always have it at "Dega".

Oh heck, they just had a doozy of a wreck. Messed up some cars don't know how many will not be back in the race.

Zora - Wish you could be here to. We would have a ball. We may not be allowed back in the Smokies after tomorrow.

Margaret - Hope you had nice visits with DD. Wish I could send you some sun to swap for rain.

NancyB - After my computer has been on for a while it does okay. I was hoping it would go ahead and die. Like your old one, this one is almost 4 yrs old and heavy. I want one of the smaller, lighter weight ones.

Pat - Enjoy your day. Sitting by the lake sounds good to me.

Rosie - Got one of the e-mails from Mel also. Wonder if anyone else is getting them or do the gremlins in her computer just like us. And the reason you are going to Kansas is? You may have said and I just missed it. Loved the blog, again, it was great. I enjoy reading it as much as the pictures. There is something wrong with peanut butter PEROID.

Oh my, bless your heart Doreen. That is a no fun thing to do. I did not enjoy one bit of it when I broke my leg. Do hope you are not in a lot of pain. I think a check up with an Ortho. Dr. is a good idea. Will keep you in my prayers dear friend.

May not be back today race is almost and I am really tired. Will see Cilla and Effie tomorrow for a fun time,

    Brenda

    Hi, CS.

Just getting to the computer now. Lots going on here, today. Had noise, lightning and lots of rain.

ZORA, we watched the Derby, but just the race and not all the pre-race hoopla.

MARGARET, seems rain is all over. Nice cake for Lauren, even I like the Toy Story characters.

NANCY B, congrats on getting the new computer. BTW, I've been wondering about the Hour of Power, too. I even checked  it out on Google to see what was happening. I did enjoy that young man speaking this morning.

PAT, I heard about Google Chrome messing up other computers. Did you get to work on the shawls?

Hi, ROSIE. When you picked that horse, you weren't thinking of margaritas, were you? BTW, I am the dust artist in residence here.

    Praying for our dear DOREEN.

Hugs and prayers for all CS.

    Nancy Z.

CILLA, sorry about the swollen face. I had something like that once and it was a blocked parotid gland. That is a salivary gland on the side of your face. Hope it gets taken care of so you can have some fun with BRENDA and EGEE.
