Good morning.  We are all so busy -- and that is good.

The weather is wonderful here in Central Ontario.  I am loving it.  I did not get any stitching in this weekend but I certainly have been busy.  Off to church in a couple of hours.  Don't know what we will be working on today because the quilt is finished.  I usually bring some stitching just in case there is nothing for me to do.... it keeps me busy.... but I really have to focus because it is so easy to make mistakes when you're talk, talk, talking.

    Have a great Monday everyone.

    Hi Everyone

Weekends go far too fast. I didn't get any yarning time in either.

Saturday was trip to greenhouse and then came home and planted some plants and evening was attending a graduation reception.

Sunday my daughters and son in laws got word that son in laws grandfather is not doing well in care center so the kids spent most of the day there while I had four grandkids.  So there went the weekend.

I have meetings the next two evenings. Hope they dont' last long and I will get home to do some knitting and crocheting.

Mary that shawl was just gorgeous. Loved how the colors turned out.

Well work is calling so better get busy. Have a good day everyone. Jeanette

I'm glad the colors turned out good. I wasn't sure, because I just picked balls of thread that were full enough to make a strip. Since it was a smaller pattern (table runner), I didn't know how much thread it would use when I made more pineapples, then made more strips of pineapples too. If I didn't make anything with the thread, it would still be sitting in boxes! Glad I got it out and made something with it. Do you know how much it would cost at a craft fair, for a shawl made from thread? I was just wondering.

A LOT of work went into that shawl, Mary.  No idea what a fair price would be, many times your area will influence prices.

Went up to the summer place Wed and just got back a while ago.  It rained most of the time we were there.  The good thing about that is I got a lot of knitting and reading time Yes plus during the drive!  I'm working on a scarf along with the new baby afghan.  I finished the first skein for the afghan it will probably take 2 or 2.5 to get done.  My goal is to have it done by the 18th, we'll see  Surprise

April seemed like a loooong month to me but watch out May, it may be a whirlwind!!

    Take care, Linda

Now I need to get going on a new project for my mom's birthday, and Mother's Day (I usually give her one gift for both days because her birthday is on the 29th). It will be a sun reflector, made from 2 used CD's and crocheted around them in a "web" pattern and you can hang it so it will reflect sunlight/light. It looks very pretty in the pattern.

Looking forward to a pic of your reflector Mary.

Goodness, I was wondering if there was a problem with the site as there haven't been any posts in several days.

Pressure is on, I need to get the baby afghan done by my goal date.  Just received word that delivery date has been pushed forward to the 14th, that's Monday!!  I should be OK.

Everyone must be very busy, our numbers are small anyway.  Hope your busyness includes yarn!  Linda

Linda: I noticed that many streams in the forum are not as "active" these days. I guess many people are doing things out, or get busy with other things. I want to see your baby afghan when you get it done!

I have one side done on that sun reflector, then you crochet attached to the middle, to make the second side (if that makes any sense). When you are done, you insert 2 CD's and crochet around the edge to "seal" them. You also crochet a hanging loop on it. The pattern said a low weight sparkle yarn. I only have a red with a silver sparkle running through it. Maybe I should get yarn today at Michael's because they have 25% off whole yarn purchase today only- I need to get some sparkle yarn if I want to make Christmas presents. My husband would have to come home from work to take me (I don't drive), so that may be a problem.

    Hello ladies.

Those CDs hanging in the sun give a great deal of shine.  Tiffany hangs some on her balcony hoping to keep the pigeons away.... but she is not successful.... unfortunately.

I was in WalMart yesterday and saw this unique yarn...loopy.  The picture showed a scarf.  It had a crochet hook picture on it and a knitting needles picture on it.  It said instructions on the inside of the label.  So I bought it thinking I would knit me another scarf.  I bring it home and it is neither crochet nor knit.  It is a loop stitch idea done by hand and I think it goes quickly.  Not at all what I wanted so today I returned it.

Jeanette, I tried a new recipe from TOH for supper.  I thought it was very tasty.  Card worthy and I certainly plan to make it again.  Take a look.

    HI Ladies

Mary your project sounds interesting and can't wait to see the finished product.

LInda you will get your blanket done and we are anxiously awaiting the news of your new arrival.

Aleida that recipe sounds deeeelicous. I will have to copy that down and try it. We have fresh asparagus now so perfect timing.

My son-in-laws grandfather passed away Tuesday evening so I have had a mixed up week. I am off to the funeral this morning.

I haven't gotten any yarning in all week. I super cleaned my house last night and made cookies while I had the chance.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Jeanette

I should be finished today/tonight with that project, when I get going with the yarn again.

I have some weeding, putting out bird suet, vacuuming, etc. to do now- better get going.
