    Hi

I guess I will start us off this week.

I found some cute crochet patterns on craftsy.com so started a little bonnet.

Otherwise busy weekend taking my mom places and babysitting a cat for friends on a cruise so have to run up there twice a day.

Safe travels Linda. Look forward to you and everyone else popping in.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. What is everyone working on? Jeanette

I worked on my shawl last night. It is going slow because I'm making those shells, and they are attached to make a row- not as fast as just crocheting rows.

It was hot and dry yesterday, at 100 degrees, but only going to be 93 today- that's still hot, but better than 100. There's still no rain in the near future. We have only had a sprinkling over the past month (longer than that now!), so I've been watering flowers outside because there just isn't rain here. I've looked at the radar, and when clouds come with rain, they just go around my city, it seems.

    Hi Ladies!

Every time I have a minute to get on and post TOH won't let me in. Is it just me?

Anyway, our Relay for Life event was a success! We did well for a first year team. I don't know what our total fundraising amount is yet, but it really doesn't matter to me. Any help we can give to the American Cancer Society is fine by me.

I finished the last blanket for my friend's baby shower. (OK. I still have to weave in some ends.) Once it's washed and blocked I'll post a picture.

Linda - Ella's Flowers is just the flower garden pattern of the Tree of Life baby throw (LionBrand.com) repeated over and over again until it's the length you want. The border is the one from that pattern as well.

I have a couple of small projects in the works. Now that the summer heat is here I don't want anything lying in my lap.

Ame has her appointment tomorrow at CHOP's neurology department. Prayers and positive mojo sent her way would be much appreciated.

Annie: we all experience problems with the Taste of Home site about logging in- it's not your problem- they have "bugs" to fix in the program for the site.

Still crocheting, but when it's hot out, I just don't want to work yarn or thread. The thread crochet is much better to work with in the heat, than yarn though. I'll make myself work on Christmas presents in the next few months though.

    Hello

Annie sending prayers your way for your daughter. Hope all goes well.

Mary we have had a very dry summer too. Seems like when the rain gets here it disappears. The plus side of being dry is no mosquitos I guess. But boy those little black bugs are terrible.

Taking work home at night as 30th is my end of fiscal year so need to get it done. So no crocheting or knitting last night. and probably not tonight either.

Can't wait to see finished projects Annie.

    Hello to everyone today. Jeanette

    Morning Ladies!

Well, Ame's doctor could not find anything that the other one might have missed so I asked if there was any connection between the fact that she got her braces on about two weeks before all of her problems started and he said that he has seen that happen before. It has something to do with people who are prone to migraines and the 5th cranial nerve being very sensitive and the braces aggrevating this nerve and causing more pain.  She is getting her braces off soon. She can live without "perfect" teeth, but she can't live in constant pain. I certainly hope that the solution to all these months for grief is as simple as having her braces taken off!

Anyway, on to 'Show and Tell'. My first FO is a car seat blanket. This is the last blanket I wanted to make for my friend's baby shower. It has a hole built in for the car seat buckle.

Wish I had had something like this when the girls were in a car seat. No more blankets dropped in the dirt, snow, rain, etc.

My second FO is an adorable door stop that I crocheted.

I named her Kayla (the Cat). My kids think I am nuts for naming her, but she is my favorite kind of cat. I don't have to feed her, I don't have to clean her litter box, and she doesn't 'sass' me back. Believe it or not the only time our boy cat 'talks' is when you tell him NO, then he has so much to say!

Right now I am working on small projects because of the heat. I have a goal to finish all the projects I have in the que in my head before summer ends. Wink

    Stay Cool,

    Annie

Annie: those projects are great. I wish I made a blanket like that 25 years ago for my kids- you're right about the blankets.

I better get out and water plants outside- it's 107 degrees this afternoon, and no relief until the sun goes down, then only in the 70's tonight.

Annie thanks for the info on the blanket, I have that pattern so I should be all set.  I like the blanket you just posted, someone got smart when they accommodated the seat buckle!

I made a couple dishcloths, new pattern; then a couple hats only one was a new to me pattern.  They second is an eyelet hat pattern that is very attractive and well received.  I made it in a lavender so the eyelet shows off nicely.  Went to the LYS nearby and turned in one of my charity blankets.......the infamous crooked granny square blanket, they were thrilled Big Smile

Getting to WiFi is a bit of a challenge for me but I'll check in when I can.  Stay cool!  Linda

PS Annie hope the removal of the braces does the trick!
