Good luck to Donna at your craft fair.  Hope the weather holds for you.  We are in the midst of some milder weather.  It's gotten me outside to do some walking.  Really need to do more of that.  Gotta keep these old, creaky, stiff, achey, muscles and bones "in motion, to stay in motion"! Sad

Been a bit frustrated lately.  Have been trying to find a new fingerless mitts pattern to keep me challenged and I've been TOO challenged!!  The first pattern had a different pattern sequence for the thumb gusset and the hand and I could NOT keep them straight, frogged it.  The 2nd pattern had a M1LP increase that I could NOT get the hang of.  All the instruction books showed it being done on knit rows but my pattern instructions were to be done on a purl row.  Frogged it.  I am now on pattern #3 arrrrgggghhhh!!

Have a good week-end and hopefully by the end of it I'll have a pair of completed mitts????  Linda

Donna: let us know how the fair went.

I'm glad I made that crocheted "snuggie" last spring because even though today's weather is in the 70's, tomorrow is supposed to get rain and drop 20 degrees during the day with freezing temps. at night. A blanket is so nice to snuggle up in- even better with arms in it so it's easier to do things.

    Good Morning Ladies,

It seems like a life time since I have been able to get on the board and post. I accepted a new position at work and am now working full-time days rather than part-time nights. I thought the adjustment would have been a little easier, but I was wrong. Things have finally gotten into a routine, but this new job is really cutting into my knitting and crocheting time! Confused

I have finished a couple of pairs of socks, one knit shawl, and one crochet shawl since taking this new position. My evenings are so busy with the things I used to get done during the day when noone was home that by the time I get done I have a few minutes to get a couple of rows done and then it is off to bed to start the whole thing over again.

Right now I am stash busting and knitting hats for my knitting group that will then be donated to a local organization that helps cancer patients. The hats are a simple knit in the round and very portable. I'm getting to use up my half balls of Homespun from my prayer shawls that were also knit for my knitting group.

My next project is to finish the crocheted stocking ornaments I am making for Christmas gifts. I am embroidering everyone's first initial on them as well.

I will then be working on knitting knee high socks for each of my girls. The sock yarn for these is the only yarn I have purchased in months. I think I may be having yarn withdrawal.

It has been really nice to check in, but I have to go finish laundry before football comes on.

    Have a fabulous day,

    Annie

So nice to hear from you Annie.  I'd say you're doing pretty well with the yarn considering your additional hours at work.

I have so many projects in mind it makes my head spin.  My project today is to purge a small bookcase to make room for the knitting books I seem to be accumulating.  I really am trying not to go overboard on those since there are so many free patterns online.  I am about to order 3 more.  One is specifically for socks an other is just hats.  If I get them used through Amazon it won't cost much.  I've gotten several used from them and honestly  don't know why they're considered used!  I really enjoy just sitting and looking through the books and getting inspired.

The 3rd mitt pattern try is working out.  I've been spoiled by the other pattern I generally make because this one is taking so much longer and taking much more yarn.  But it is making up bigger which is probably good for the sale.  Altho' not sure they'll be done by Friday which is OK because I'll gift it otherwise.

Have a good Sunday and week ahead.  Linda

    Hello Everyone

Linda glad the mittens are finally working. I have done that with patterns too. I think I need to broaden my horizons only to find the pattern is to broaden. Ha Ha.

Donna good luck on the craft fair. I am sure you are busy busy trying to get stuff done for the fair.

Mary we have had much cooler temps the last couple days. Saturday we were sweating and Sunday we were freezing.

Annie my daughter the nuse until a year ago worked part time on the 2-10pm shift. They asked her to be nurse manager in the care center she works. She would work day hours and it sounded great but she works more now that she ever did. Many 13-14 hour days. And on call every other weekend. For six months she filled in as Director of Nurses. They finally hire a DON but she has yet to take any of the jobs back that go with it. So we shall see how that works out.

I finished a ruffled scarf last night and a headband all in green of course for Belle. I had my nose on my snowman hat and it was just too big so took it off and crocheted a smaller one and by then it was time to go to bed.

Yesterday went to the Veterans Day program at school. The kids do such a good job with teachers help I am sure. Then ate lunch with my grandchildren. First time I have ate school lunch in many many years. It was fun though.

Will try to remember to take pictures of hat and scarf, etc. before I give them away.

Have a good day everyone. Jeanette

Jeanette: your weather sounds exactly like here!

Glad I crocheted some hats for myself last year, because it sure is nice to have that heat stay in, with freezing temps. around.

I want to finish Christmas wire angels, then Christmas glass painting, then I want to make things for myself. I'll make those seed bead earrings and maybe crochet a cardigan. I found a good pattern, but I just don't want to spend a lot of money on yarn.

Hello to all,     The weather here is pretty lousy today.  Rain and more rain.

The fair was pretty good  slow but steady.  I made $438 to be exact.   Pleased with that.  Doing another one Nov.30 and Dec.1.   So have to get busy busy knitting to replenish.

Linda----never made those mittens.  Is the pattern on Ravelry?   Maybe for next year.

Well off to go knit.   Have a good day!        Donna  Big Smile

    Hello

Donna I would say you did really good? The Nov 30 and Dec 1 one should be good too. Everyone will be in the christmas present buying mood hopefully.

I need to go somewhere to buy two black buttons that look alike for eyes for my snowman hat. In all my button stash I do not have the size I want. Isn't that always the way it goes.

Mary you are busy busy making Christmas things also. I started a pink ruffle scarf for my other granddaughter. If her sister got one I can just hear her saying I want one too so I am going to be prepared hopefully. They go really fast.

I have been wanting to make a scoodie (hood and scarf all in one) but haven't gotten the job done yet.

I had better get back to working. Have a good day everyone. Jeanette

Donna: that's great with how much you made! It's so nice to get a return amount on crafts- so much time and money goes into the projects.

I think I'll check my patterns for a little flower that I can crochet and glue on a jewelry pin, to make a nice pin for a lady at church.

    Bye for now!

    Hi Everyone

Mary you are always full of great ideas for little presents.

Weather here is pretty good now. We get up to 50 degrees the last few days and suppose to keep going clear to thanksgiving. Works for me anyway. I ate the cold and snow.

Found two buttons to sew on. Got the one on and do you think I could get the other one on even with the other one. I put it on and took it off 3 times. Finally gave up and went to bed. Tonight will try again.

Everyone have a good day today. Jeanette

Jeanette, sometimes I think we are just our own worse critics!  I'm 1/2 way done with the 2nd mitt and I was comparing it to the first and was spotting several differences and of course wasn't sure I was happy.  Yet I was showing the 2 to a couple friends and no one noticed a thing......or were they just being kind?? Huh?    Nope not going there, they are fine, right?!  I'm sure you will get your buttons on just fine.

I was hoping to get this 2nd mitt done for the craft fair, but no, life threw me a curve.  We got a virus on our main desktop computer.  Luckily our computer guy was able to save all our data and remove the virus.  But everything had to be reloaded.  Computer stuff is a major stressor for me.  Hubby doesn't have the patience so the job falls to me Angry  Nothing is simple.  I managed to get our email and printer going again but for some reason the wireless laptop won't print.  Computer guy insists the issues are not related but seems like too much of a coincidence to me.  He told me what to do but I've gotten no where.

So the craft fair is tomorrow.  A small one at the senior center, inside from 8:00 to 2:00.  Looking forward to it.  There will be no computers in sight  Wink  Linda

    Hi Everyone

I did get the other button on last night thank goodness. I did remember to take a picture of the finished product too this time before I gave it away.

Good luck Linda at craft fair and I think Donna is at another one too.

Linda I agree when computers work they are fine and when they don't they are a pain. Good luck.

Still good weather here in Iowa thank goodness. Good on the heating bill.

Everyone have a good weekend. Jeanette
