Good Afternoon Folks! Hopefully there isnt another one opened as I looked and looked .... welcome to the newcomers... this group is a fun one that shares their passion of scrapbooking, stamping, and conversation.
I'll be back later ... just wanted to get our group post started .....
Hi everyone! I added my bugs to my Fathers Day project. Mowed the yard - I love push mowers but we have a rider so I mow about once a year. I actually enjoyed it today so maybe I might do it a bit this summer!! We want to go fishing but it looks like rain, again. Think I will sit and watch the race now, just been listening today.
Amy
Hello Amy .... the push mowers are so much better for folks in getting needed exercise but those riding mowers sure are fun to mow with a grandson "front seat" driving .... haha
Must Haves:
Those are the essentials, but as with any craft, there is always more that you may want to add to your supplies. Here are the ones that I would add next.

Additional Items to Consider When Budget Allows:
Hi, all! Just got back from the trip. The wedding was beautiful! We had such a good time! However, it's good to be home. Looks like we came back to rain.
Granny - I started my scrapbooking hobby after I took a few classes at the LSS. Then, I bought a 12 x 12 trimmer, fine tipped scissors, tombow monoadhesive and paper/cardstock. I bought some of the stacks at Joanne's but discovered that I didn't like most of the papers as much as I expected, but I use the matching cardstock more. Now, I use the stacks to play with more than scrap with.

I started with 12x12 trimmer, creative memories adhesive (do not use it anymore), good sissors, some paper and shopped for stickers, colored pencils, and stencils. I had attended a MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) group out of church. I wanted to go on the off weeks when they did crafts - that is when I learned how to scrapbook. It all started to get away from the kids!!LOL But, when doing the pages it was theraptic and helped me remember why I love my family :-)
Now, my supplies are much different.
Granny thanks for posting the information. It is nice getting back to scrappin information. It seems we have drifted away from that. I was told about a dryer sheet technique that I want to try. You will need a used dryer sheet, spray adhesive, diamond dust and regular stamping products. Stamp and color your image on cardstock. Spray the area you want to have glittered with the spay adhesive. Immediately place the dryer sheet on top of the adhesive. Immediately sprinkle on the glitter. Shake off the excess glitter. Let dry. Trim the excess dryer sheet off. You now have a beautiful element to add to your card or scrapbook page. Give it a try.

Hopefully my computer will allow me to complete this post. It seems to allow me to as long as I don't try to open a second window. Although I am about as far from being a professional scrapper as you can possibly get, I would like to share how I got started. At first, I kind of picked up things here and there for about 2 years before I actually started an album. If I saw something I liked that I knew would go great with a specific picture, I would buy it. I use only 12 X 12 albums. I have a set of special scissors from Costco that I have used alot, and not just for scrapbooking. I want to get the other set, if they offer them again. I purchase most of my items from the dollar tree, but do buy plenty from Joann's and Michaels.
I gotta run. Feeling extremely tired tonight.

Good morning.
My MIL had bought me a scrapbook kit for my birthday one year. It had the album, glue stick, some paper, stickers, die cuts and I think a pair of deco scissors and gel pens. That was what I used for my first few pages. They are pretty funny to look at now but you know Hayley still loves to look at them. The very first page I did was of Hayley and Jason washing the car. ( I did the everyday moments before we were told too LOL) Jason thought it was so cool and has been supportive ever since. Granted he's just that kind of guy anyway but when I find women who say their husbands don't appreciate their pages I always ask if they have pages with the husbands in it. If they are wanting to get into it I tell them to do a daddy page first so they will think it's neat. Sneaky huh?
I am such a dork!! My cousins daughter graduated this weekend. They had a picnic this weekend for her. I hadn't really intended to go but my friend made me feel kind of guilty. I thought it was sunday so since we were done with the tree I packed the kids up and we went to the park. Called Jason to double check the invite and it was saturday. Yikes. I ran by their house to give the card and tell them my mess-up. I really felt bad then. Even though they had a really good time only 1 person from my cousins family showed. Neither of his parents and the 2 other siblings who live nearby. If I'd known that I probably would have planned on going from the start. They were the ones I really didn't want to see anyway.
I've been up since 5am and the little girl who was supposed to be here didn't show. That really irritates me! I went back to sleep for a while on the couch but still.
Thanks for the post about supplies to start with. I have a small cutter that sure is handy to crop pictures and card stock. I bought some papers and a couple of 12x12 books at Michael's yesterday that were sale. I'm still trying to figure out what some of the supplies I see in the store are for. Most of what I have done are very simple pages, I'm afraid of over doing it with stickers and such.
I have more ideas in my head of things to scrapbook than I have to time to do them LOL
I am almost finished with a 8x8 book of DS's first year --- he will be 17 next month. :)
DS is adopted. I was blessed to be able to bring him home from the hospital when he was 2 days old. He is asking about meeting his birth mother. As I am going through pictures and scanning things into the computer, I've been printing off pictures to at least have a photo album to give to his birth mother. It may be at least a year before he meets her and it will probably take me that long just to put together a good photo album. A big problem is having recent pictures of him. As a teenager, he avoids the camera :(
Tree that is really nice of you to do that for your son. He will appreciate that you went the extra mile for his blood mom.
Just got in the door and have to leave again. I didn't have time to do any scrapping this weekend. Hopefully next.
Have a good day.
I kinda forgot (not really) to order pictures since before Christmas. I ordered 1, 080 pictures from Snapfish. They came in the mail today. BOY to I feel WAY BEHIND on scrapbooking now. With summer here, I need to make a scheudle and stick to it!
My beginning scrapbooking came about in a great big old blessing!! I was home recovering from colon cancer surgery and was way down in the blues.... my friends were overcome with my condition they didnt know how to have one of our normal conversations .... as we were always planning this or that and I was not physically able to do anything .
One morning a phone call from Michaels Craft Store changed my life ... I had signed up for a drawing three or four weeks before for a drawing and I won first prize ... $150 gift certificate and nowdays that would be approx. $400... I told the manager I couldnt come get it for weeks and he said that was okay considering the reason.
After I was allowed and could travel that far physically, iwaited until they had big sale and with lots of coupons and boy did i hit the jackpot. My pix was made with the manager giving me the certificate and papa and i went up and down each aisle spending each penny wisely ..... their biggest scrapbooking kit was on sale 1/2 price and so just had to get it .... we had three carts level full and heaping....
My daughter had been talking about scrapbooking so that had inspired my interest ... infact the first page iever did was with her .... she was putting together an album for her sisterinlaw of zachary .... that is the layout where i thought a pizza slice sticker was a party hat and put it on top of some baby animal character.... haha she sent it on to her. haha .... this is one of funniest memories.
I'll go to next post to say what i had to buy after the kit for scrapbooking. .... haha... excuse the rambling but scrapbooking is so very special to me.
a very happer scrapper ..... Granny
whoops sorry ..... will be back later ......
My son and ddil stopped by for a quick visit .... as we told them and the other kids even a minute visit and a hug means a lot ot us.
okay now before i forget it ..... here's a saying i found in my scrapbooking quotes ..... i will be using it on my heritage pages .... i have no idea where or when i got it.

As long as we have memories, yesterday remains. As long as we have hope, tomorrow awaits. As long as we have family, each day is never alone. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
