good morning all my little chrubs!
I have the coffee brewing, and watered my dirt lawn- and a load of laundry in the dryer- woo hoo
Lisa's family got in from Vegas last night, and sounds like they want to go to the county fair this afternoon. I would prefer to get going in the morning as traffic and parking can be awful- but they are not early risers and are tierd from the 6 hr drive, which I can understand.
Rox- I will be at home till about 12n then we leave. Would you rather I come by?
That's my day in a nutshell- what's up with everyone?
I'm packing today. We'll leave when Bubba gets home from work. He changed the oil and recharged the a/c in the SUV. We're ready to go.
Give me your honest opinion on the French Dip Roast.
Jenni- funny you ask, I just bought a 5 lb chuck this morning to make more for a camping trip at the end of the monty- it was so good I cannot stop eating it.....delish! Have fun on your get-a-way
So glad that it satisfied your tastebuds, Kallee.
I'm getting off of the computer or I will never finish getting ready.
Love you all...Please check on Kay for me.
Jenni- My d said the smell made her sick to her stomach so she didn't eat any at dinner time. Right after I got home (after 9pm) she was still hungry so she took a piece of the meat. "Mom, it is soooo good!"

Does anyone know anything about almond butter? I could not find it with the butter but then Pie said maybe like apple butter and with the jams. If I can't find it does anyone know of a substitution? TIA
Leora, Almond Butter comes in a jar like peanut butter. You'll probably find it at a health food store.
Hello ladies! How was the fair Kallee? Jenni where ya off to? (guess if I read back I would find out) Had a busy week here. Doing some babysitting on the side and I also had my middle dgs over nite. Had lots of fun. Thurs I did pretty much nothing, I was pooped! Today dd,ds and grandboys were here for a bit building a mini ladder for blankets! DD has stained it and its sitting in babies room with blankets on it. Such a great idea!! Baby is getting BIG in momma's tummy! They are sure he will be over 9 lbs. In the last wk she has grown and is starting to get uncomfortable. (DUE LATER JULY) I am having her and him a baby shower in 3 wks. Can't wait. I am surprising her with her childhood friend to come from Seattle. (so far thats the plan) You all have a great evening and weekend if I dont make it back for a few days!
Hugs and prayers to all! PS.........I think my laptop fan is going out UGGG! Not sure what I will do if it completely goes, cant afford a new one right now.
Ceryl- the fair was fun, not sure it held the attention span of the visitors, but we managed to see a lot. We even saw the pig races! The mother of our exchange student was so afraid that the kids would eat fried foods, too much sugar, etc.......and it seemed to motivate our student to buy fried oreos, cream puffs, nacho fries, etc..... think there was a little mother/daughter chemisty going on.
Today we go to DGS karate picnic where I think he get presented with another belt color (4 yrs old)- not much else planned for the day- should try and accomplish something.
Good morning All.
D went to Disneyland for her class Grad night. Her pants chaffed her legs really bad so she is in a lot of pain. She told me that it is blistered and rubbed raw (ouch!) so she applied Neosporin. Her feet also swelled up so she bought a pair of flip flops (I guess thongs are not politically correct anymore, lol) to wear. she also bought a pair of sweatpants in hopes that it would help alleviate the pain of the chaffing. It helped a little but she was barely moving this morning because it's so painful. She also bought herself a shirt and a stuffed animal (the Lotso Bear (from Toy Story 3)).
Honey and I are heading down to my old stomping grounds this afternoon. A supporter is celebrating her 90th birthday.
That's all that's on our agenda for today. Tomorrow we have to drive down again to set up a Mission's table at our old home church. After the last service we will attend a lunch at one of the mission's board member's home. D is supposed to go with us but don't know if she'll make it at this point. Hope she feels better by tomorrow.
Rox- how awful for your DD....get her some baby powder right away. Tell that 90yr Happy Birthday from me- is her initials RA? (she can't be 90, can she?)
Kallee- I did think of the baby powder but didn't say anything to her because she had just applied the Neosporin. She's in putting some on now, though. Hopefully it will make a big difference. She was supposed to go with us tomorrow but don't know if she'll make it now. We are going to the fair on Tuesday. D asked if we could get a wheelchair for her, lol.
Birthday girl is ER. Haven't seen her in years but d-in-law invited us to come when we asked her to express our birthday wishes.
Oopsies. Forgot I had make-up on and just rubbed my eyelashes. Now I gotta go un-clump them. Honey is out mowing the grass since d can't do it. I need to go play with Sydney for a while since she'll be alone all afternoon.
Motorhomegal- Welcome to the board of friendly people. Hope you'll come and feel at home here. Vent when you want, share what you want; there is no pressure here.
do any of you ever watch Pawn Stars- the pawn shop place in Vegas. I am watching tonight, pretty interesting what stuff comes in, and the guys on the show are so goofy.
Rox- I have a ticket that you can have for tues to the fair- I ended up with an extra one...and Albertson's has them for $4 next tuesday
well, well, well.....nobody posted yet today- so it may as well be me
We took Lisa's family for burgers at a special "hole in the wall" down by the beach today. It is very beachy- surfboards, huge burgers and shakes....it may have been cultural over-load for them
The fly home tomorrow
Honey is really frustrated today; his sugar levels are all over the place. Not real high but high enough to be bothersome.
Had an okay day. Had to set up a table at our home church this morning. It was okay. Same people stop by every year. The Mission's department hosted a lunch afterward. Macaroni Grill. I've decided that I don't like Macaroni Grill. 9:30 and lunch is returning to haunt me. lol
Kallee- Did you all go to Ruby's Diner on the Oceanside pier?
We have been dragging all day. Didn't want to get up this morning. Wanted to sleep all through church, and still want to sleep now. Making myself stay up 'til 10:00 so that I don't wake up too early.
