Happy Friday, I am so glad i have today off from work, mom has a doc appt, so i took the WHOLE day off, yippee! I know i shouldn't have but i figure i deserve it, i work 9 1/2 to 10 hours a day mon-fri i deserve a day off for me. saturdays i go shopping and laundry sundays i have been cleaning the house of old junk so today is me day. the weather is supposed to be in the 80's finally, yesterday was 95 too hot for me. i couldnt even go for my walks its too hot. the air conditioner at work even quit on us, so what is everyones plans for the weekend, any picnics? well have a good day i will check back later.
morning all-
Kay- hope it has cooled off a bit. When it is that hot, I don't feel like doing anything.
We are going to the fair again today because DD#1 asked us to go with DGS's and can't pass the chance. I tried a new recipe for bananna carrot bread (from TOH) and it is in the oven now and smells pretty darn good.
I tweaked my neck a couple moments ago, so going to try and wiggle it out.
greeting to all
Too late to catch Kallee now. Maybe I should give her a ring and ask her to pick up some cotton candy for me while she's at the fair, LOL. I love cotton candy and I rarely eat it. In fact, other than getting some while Honey and I were at the fair, I haven't had any for years and years.
I thought I was going to sleep in today but Honey came in around 8:30 and asked me if I was supposed to proctor today (boss was in her car waiting for me). Man, I popped out of bed and got dressed and teeth brushed in two minutes. I was literally out the door in less than three minutes!
Honey is out painting the d's bathroom door. He figured he'd take advantage of d being gone to her birth dad's place and get it painted. It's been partially painted for the last two years so he decided to get that done. Not that d will notice but we will 'cause it stares us in the face every time we are sitting in the living room.
I've got to figure out what to fix for dinner. ugh!

Rox- I would have loved to seen a video of you flying out the door- it sounds so Lucille Ball'ish.
We watched the turkey races at the fair- what a hoot! They put seed in the back of this radio contolled truck- and the trukeys chase the truck around the track trying to get the seed, and either the dumb or perhaps smart one- just stands in one place and waits for the truck to come round and pass him. The husband- wife team doing it were so funny - the wife could be a comedian, and her DH the silent straight guy. She said it was the sorryist thing for two 50 years olds to do for their mid life crisis.
I had a rootbeer float, and hamburger, and an ice cream smores (split with DH)- but no cotton candy Rox
Kallee- I can't believe you didn't eat any cotton candy; it's "a must" for a fair! I had a hamburger too, when we were there, but I wasn't real impressed with it. The things I enjoyed the most were the equestrian events. We watched the morning one and most of the evening one. It was pretty fun to watch. The horses were beautiful, and I couldn't believe the length of their tails.
D called a little while ago. She's going to stay at birthdad's until Monday, when they will bring her home.
Rox-so glad DD is enjoying her time, but what will you do with yourself all day?
I must get my grocery store run in today. DD#1 called and DGS has walking pnumonia- he was fine yesterday at the fair, but last night must have turned into something.
Ok friends- where is everyone?
Leroa- have you ever gone to Sturgis? (for the big motorcycle thing they have there)
Kallee- D spends a lot of time reading in her room, but having her gone makes it different. I feel like I'm getting a little bit of a feel for empty nesting.
I'm ready for a nap, but Honey is on the couch. We're watching KPBS. They're talking about San Diego's history. Pretty interesting.
Honey wants to make a trip to Sprouts, our local produce store. I don't want to go but I said "Sure" 'cause he asked me. He's in his office at the moment so maybe I will take advantage of that and lie on the couch until he's ready to go.
Hi everybody!
I've been gone for a couple of days. It's pretty hot here. Just housework, playing with Mooch and laughing so hard with Bubba.
We didn't go to church today. Reason: laziness
I made some pinwheels with Virginia ham in them. Pretty good.
Laundry calls. I hope everyone is focusing on being happy. With Depression it can be hard at times.
Jenni- I know what you mean about it being hard to be happy. I have a cloud hanging over my head right now and it would be so easy to fall into a full-blown depression episode. I would love to curl up into a ball right now and not come out for awhile. I think I just need something to take my mind off of it.
Well, that was good timing. Honey just called me on his computer and made me chuckle.
I'd like to have a sit down with d's birth dad and have a really good talk so that we all know what each of us is thinking. I want to keep things open and clear so that d doesn't get stuck in a situation that she can't handle emotionally. So far, she keeps telling me that she's okay, and that's good. I'd like it to stay that way.
Rox- you are right to protect your DD, do you like the birth father? Does he have other kids at home?
Jenni- so glad you are laughing and feeling better. A bit of lazy is ok- that is why it is called a day of rest, silly.
SIL worked on my computer for hours tonight- bless him, it is 10pm and they are just leaving now. It is quicker- but he was trying to install an office program for me towrok from home, and it would not work on my laptop- bummer.
Ok -early'ish bed for me- 2 DGS come at 730am while momma interviews for a job-
