jump start on friday-weekend chat

Well, I am going to start us early- as we leave camping in the morning, and I may not get back on for a few days.

I think I learned that nothing rhymes with thursday, unless it is nerds day.

DD#3 found a baby possum cowering at our front door tonight, about the size of a hamster.  Two days ago one of the cats killed one and left it as a prize at the door, so we put this little guy in a box, and right now he is in the bathroom.  When DH gets home- will try and drop it in a safe place away from cats, I guess.

Leora- you need a rest (me thinks)- do you get some time off over the 4th? you are such a good girl to get in the exersize- setting an example.

Jenni- I too am watching the fires, and it is hard to believe.  We had those terrible fires here a couple years ago- and it got really close.  So many lost homes at that time, we could see them go up in flames.

Pie- what are you up to?  Do you have fireworks in your area? We cannot have them here for the fire danger.

Kay- I am loving your positive attitude- such a great outlook considering your full plate. It has to turn around soon.  What was the outcome with your friend and the dead beat husband?

We are going to the redwoods for a few nights- takes about 7 horus to drive there.

Rox- I think you should buy stock in Foster Farms, or Zacky Farms.....just saying.

cute tent graphic Jenni- thanks. And, I bought a box of those bars to put in the morot home freezer- I would have forgotten them if you had not posted that.  DGS's would have been very dissapointed.

I have my watering done, the stuff packed, etc.....  a hawk was out bothering my dove aviary this morning, so I have to keep an eye on that till we go- dang.  I can tell by the sound that the doves make if something is troubling them- and run out of the house.  I guess it's my mommy ears still working.

Anyone know how long Kallee is going to be gone?

No plans for today except taking d to work. Would like to see her apply for a few jobs today. She got her resume (as little as it is) done yesterday, and applied to one job at Jamba Juice (they  make frozen smoothies). I don't care for them but d does.

Oh, I just remembered that we are going to my brother's (an hr drive) on Sunday. I need to get some Macaroni salad made. My brother loves it. It's my mom's recipe. Growing up we all loved it.

I have to change my lifestyle due to health reasons. I am trying to do what I am supposed to do.

It has been storming bad here. Had to take cover twice at work.

Leora- Hope you do well at changing your lifestyle. Need to have you healthy. I cheated tonight and had a frozen yogurt. That'll do me for a month.... I hope.

I'm kind of dog sitting for my d's boss for the next week. I just have to go over and let her dog out in the mornings and then let her back in of an evening. The only drawback is the drive twice a day. Not bad, just means that I have to get up early

Our dog is being a goofball. She's settled down for the moment but she was chasing her rawhide all across the floor. Thankfully, she just settled down with it, to chew on it.

Kallee, yes we do have fireworks. On the 3rd and the 4th. This year there will also be a laser light show on the third.

Went to the dr on wed. Time for a med check and my foot had become a real problem. They have a program to cover the cost of the visit since I dont have insurance. This dr and her office have always been so good to me. I have been going there since I was a preteen. But... she said the two words I really hate. Specialist and surgery. Not looking forward to either. Even though the surgery isnt for sure yet, I hate to think of even the possibility of doing it again. This would make number 5 since August of 2007.

A lot of storm damage in my neck of the woods tonight. Trees down everywhere. Covering the roads, on cars, on houses. So many that are snapped of right through the trunk. Luckily moms and my house are untouched. Few little twigs fell here and there, but nothing bigger than some kindling.

Pie- I'm so sorry you are having problems with your foot. Do you get bone spurs, or what? Is this something that you are going to deal with for the rest of your life?

Your weather sounds iffy. Glad you are safe. Things still going well for you and your sister, in your new place? Is your landlord good at this place?

Good Morning everyone! i thought i would stop in to say hi, yesterday was a electronic crash day. it seemed as if electronics and machinery didnt want to work. as i figure they wanted to start the weekend early. i guess they are allowed since they work the hardest. first was the main machine, it decided to spit up hot liquid everywhere (no one got hit with it) next was my phone, it crashed, then was another machine, it decided to scream. then the computer went wonky, crazy day yesterday. i hope that everyone has a great weekend, me i am planning on cleaning the garage and hopefully pulling weeds. because even if the weather doesnt agree i can still accomplish something.  

Wow, Weekend, you really did have a electronics wonky day. you seem to have handled it well, though, 'cause you are here to tell us about it. What a day. So, did you get your garage done? Were you just organizing or organizing and getting rid of stuff? You can come do mine next :)

(sigh) My favorite denims are worn thread-bare thin; I think they are going to tear in the next day or so, so D and I are going thrift shopping today. I need to get some "new" pants. I like thrift shopping for them because I can get more for my money.

Good sunday morning! i thought i would pop in to say hi getting ready to go out and do yardwork before it gets hot or rainy. thrift store shopping is the best way to get deals on clothes, i went looking the other day for jeans and you will spend at least $15 to $20 on a pair of cheap pants. when i lose more weight thats what im gonna do. its alot cheaper. well have a good day

Good afternoon (almost). Off in just a few mintutes, to my brother and sister-in-law's. They live an hour south of us. We'll probably only stay 2-3 hours and then head home. The drive down and back is almost as long as the time we'll be there. But, haven't seen her in a few years and, of course, I am the favorite aunti

Weekend- $15-$20 is cheap for a pair of pants from the store, and that's the sale price. I imagine your thrift store prices are probably better than ours in CA. I paid $6 for a pair yesterday. They were $7 but my d had her school id with her so I got a bit of a discount. Have to go back another day and see if they have anymore in the size I want. They only had three pair, and two of them were low-riders, which I destest. I want what's supposed to be covered, to be covered!

we have a thrift store around here that is really cheap you can pick up a winter coat for about 20 bucks and pants around 5+ depends on the sizes. you can also go to the dollar stores and pick up some deals. last year i went to a discount store and picked up t shirts with minor "issues" for 50 cents a piece i havent been there yet to see what they have.

well i did it, the garage is done, still have to get to the stuff thats stored above the garage but the whole thing is cleaned and swept and hosed, even the weeds are done, took the better part of the day though. wednesday i might be able to get to the stored stuff, and the basement. so much to do so little time to do it in. whats on everyones menu's for wednesday? i splurged this year i am making bbq ribs and macaroni salad i dont have a clue yet whats for dessert,  but i might just buy a cake this time for everyone who can have it and skip it for myself and mom. ooh i just had an idea i can make a sugar free pudding with blueberries. well gotta run. have a wonderful night.

Weekend- I love hearing about everyone's day. You got A LOT done. I'm really lazy and don't do anything.

I made macaroni salad to take to my brother's house but I wasn't pleased with it at all. It was too dry and lacked the sweet pickle flavor. My brother says my mom put eggs in it but neither my sister-in-law or I remember eggs in it. YUK! I wouldn't have eaten it with egg in it.
