Good morning,THought I would pop in today and see how thing's were?? I am ready for the 3 pm to come already...lol I have had my babysitting boys the last 2 days, yesturdaywas a bit of a challenge for me..was so tierd, no energy and had a headach. Unlike me, but I laid on the couch once they had quiet time for a couple hrs. Still was tierd in the evening, so went to bed early. Only bad thing about that is I am up way to early. Its a nyquil nite, tonight! How is baby doing? My cont prayers for her...can't imagine the scaryness of this. We had a big thunder lightening storm late yesturday afternoon/evening! LOVED it. BUT the horses and my dog Molly not so much!! Had to give Molly some benedryl to calm her to go to sleep. She is such a sensitive soul. This weekend our oldest grandson turns 8!!! Time is flying by I tell ya! Our newest grandson is doing very well...all 4 of them are! LOL Enjoy your day, week and weekend ladies!!! Thoughts are with you all...
Cheryl- such a treat to wake up to see your post. My 2 grandsons come tomorrow till sunday- I think it will wipe me out, but the parents are on an anniversary trip to San Francisco- and I volunteered. I love thunder stroms too- but they are so rare here, as is rain.
The are talking high 90's today- so DH wants to go over to the coast (10 degrees cooler) and watch the horse races- we will see what happens.
Ok- I gotta go water my garden so it does not sizzle. I have so many zuchinni and tomatoes this year- we have eaten them in every form- last night DH grilled zuchinni o n the BBQ
Good morning, All.
Taking d and the best friend to Jamba Juice as soon as they are ready. I guess Jamba has a deal today to get a smoothie for $1 before 11:00am. Assuming it's the smallest size. Then we are taking the best friend to get hair dye so that she can redo her hair. For some reason it's turning orange every time she goes swimming, so it looks like she can't get her hair wet in anything other than the shower.
Pie- I hope the MRI goes okay. Hey, did you ever get your foot brace? If so, is it helping?
I guess this could be for Pie or Leora- What's the latest update on baby Kelly?
Kallee- Enjoy your day in the "cooler" weather. Bring some of it home for me. Is your honey going to help out with the little boys?

Good Afternoon BBDers...
Rox, before peej helps her girlfriend color her hair, they have to get the build-up off first. I found these recipes.
Using apple cider vinegar is another good way to remove product build-up, as noted by Healthy Textures. Wash your hair, condition and rinse as usual, then use 1 cup of water with 1 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar for a final rinse. Vinegar cleans residue from the hair, similar to the way white vinegar is effective at removing soap residue as a final laundry rinse.
Baking soda is another of the best ways to remove product build-up from hair. In a container, add 1 tbsp. baking soda to the amount of shampoo you would normally use, then stir with a spoon until well-mixed. An alternative method involves wetting your hair, rubbing baking soda into the wet hair, rinsing, then shampooing as usual.

Jenni- Peej wasn't helping bff with the coloring, we just took her to pick it up. I will forward her your message but I think the job is already done. We dropped her off at home after she bought the dye.
Hey Rox,
I hope peej's bff has success when she colors her hair today. A girl I went to school with used to die her hair once or twice a WEEK She came to school on a Monday and it was GREEN. lol I think her mom took her to a pro to get it fixed. Her name was Bernie. Funny how my memory works pretty well long term.
I'm making some pan fried chicken, mashed potatoes (gravy if Bubba wants it) and a veggie. He got home a little early today and is snoozing in his recliner. Does Honey usually work from home? ( I might have asked this already.) I'll have to back track and find the pic of you, Honey and peej.
As far as I know, Omaha has no Jamba Juice Kiosks or Restaurant. I usually don't care for the really sweet drinks.such as Orange Julius or a Slurpee and others similar to them. When I was single I would go to Crain Coffee. I'd order a LARGE Italiano. It was dark Italian coffee and a shot of espresso mixed in. They had over-stuffed chairs and couches. I'd bring a newspaper or a book and just chill.
I'm sure you and Honey will find a place for your eldest DD. Do you have a garage that you can convert into a room for her?
TTYS
pie and Leora...please check in.
Jenni- Honey does work at home. The third bedroom is his office. He will probably have to move his stuff to the garage. The problem is I don't know if we can afford to fix up the garage. It's way too hot to put d out there. I don't know how it is in Iowa but in California you have to have a permit to do anything to your own property.
I don't care for Jamba myself but d likes it; she thinks I'm weird because I don't, LOL.
Pie- Hope you'll check in and let us know how the MRI went.
Cheryl- Your new grandbaby looks great. Are you wiped out still, from having the boys over?
Calling all MIAs to check in.
Sorry I have been MIA, too much going on.
Took kidds to the mega brain on friday and then did grocery shopping, Sat and Sun the girls moved downstairs. What a job and so glad it is done! Told them they could not move again for a long time. We all got sick with some stomache bug during the move so it was a double chore.
Kelly is going to move out of ICU sometime this week we hope. She is waking up and moving more. Also tying to make noises. Long term they are predicting a full or nearly full recovery.
Leora, Glad that your girls moved downstairs. That should help pie a lot. I'm sorry to hear that you all were sick.
Praise God as He continues to heal Baby Kelly!! So glad that she can recover fully or close to it.
Leora- Thanks for keeping us up to date on Kelly. When they say, "... maybe fully" is that because they think her brain was effected somehow?
No air conditioning so it was kinda warm in our house today. Don't know what it was outside because our thermostat never registered it outside. Thankfully the temps are dropping a bit. D doesn't sleep with her bedroom window open because hers is the front bedroom but Honey and I open ours and puts fans in front, to get some cooler air in the house. How are you all doing further east?
Oh lordy it is hot here......energy sucking, sweaty, nasty hot. (can you tell I do not love the heat?) Our poor cieling fans cannot keep up- and we have a small simple wall unit intended for one room- trying to cool the house- I cannot run it long or it will poop out. We sleep on top of the covers and have our windows open at night.
Leroa- I am thrilled to hear about baby Kelly- still praying for her, so keep us posted. I think about her every day. I hate packing boxes and moving- that's why they will have to bury me in my back yard amoungst my various dogs- I am not even moving from here! Tell the girls I said that- one thing about moving, it makes you realize you don't need half the stuff we accumulate
Jenni- you made my comfort meal- that is one thing I crave (with the gravy). I saw a bumper sticker today that said "I (heart) Bubba" if I can find it I will send one to you-it made me smile
Rox- It was still hot on the coast- but we had seats in the shade which helped. Every horse I thought looked good came in last or second to last- it was funny Dh is good to help with the boys- but we are both still on jet lag hours, and I think this will be a test of our energy. Thye boys come about noon tomorrow-the 18 mo old has never slept over- not sure he will not want his mamma.
Anyone watching the Olympics? The track girl running for Saudi Arabia (with the head garb and long pants) is actually from Escondido (here)- her mom is American and her dad is from Saudi- her last name is Azza-
