  • Friday, November 16th ... Saturday & Sunday too.

It sounds like a fog or Fibro Fog is really going around.  It's days like that when I cuddle up in the recliner with Mooch.

Niece Laura and her wonderful boyfriend, Krys are at the Trans Siberian Orchestra's Concert. I hope she wants to tell all about it. I'd love to hear it.

One of our unmarried nieces gave her boyfriend the heave ho last week. They were engaged to be married. He presented her with a list of demands that had to be fulfilled before the wedding ceremony. I am so glad she found out now instead of later.

Our niece and nephew and their 4 children made it to OKC, OK and are getting settled in. The two older girls didn't want to move.  I think I'll call them tomorrow.  Sidney begged me not to forget her. She's 10.

5 Hour Energy has been linked to some deaths. I didn't like the stuff when it first came out.

One of my medicines went up from $40 to $95 for a months supply.  I'm glad I see my Int'l Med doc in a few weeks. I can't pay that all the time. That will bring my monthly pharmacy bill to around $200 and that's with insurance.  More greedy people at insurance companies and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Getting us started. I should go to bed but I might stay up a little longer.

The beginning of June will be great! Let me know when it's definite and I'll invite people from this area.  Jody in Kansas City wanted us to have it closer to her this time.  I thought we could try another casino. What do you think Leora? Kallee? Anybody?  Open to all suggestions.

Kallee, About the Cinnamon and Camphor trees...Can any part of the tree be used in potpourri?  Maybe the bark?

    Talk with you all later.

I love that cartoon Jenni- nice to start out with a laugh.

As for the trees- the leaves have some scent, bu DH gets athsma when he is around them and eycaleptus trees, mowing grass, pollen, etc..... so that is why I try to do the raking and clipping around here.  Right now he is working on compleating a super size bird avery which keeps him busy- but I keep trying to dwindle down the amount of animals to care for.

So sad about Sydney, I bet she would love the novelty of 'snail mail"  For the June trip- I will have my folks and oldest daughter's family with- so not too sure they would go to Kansas City.

I cater a lunch in a couple hours- it was to be chili for 45, but then they called and said only 30 were coming- so guess what we will be eating this weekend.  Then I cater a wedding on sunday too.

Fred- I suspec you are not lazy- depression zaps you of energy and motvation, and dulls the natural interest a person has in interacting and doing fun things.  Try to get outside for at least 30 min each day.  Natural daylight really does help some.  Work on interupting the negative tapes that keep playing in your head- that's a tall order and a slow process.

Leora- I am going to check out that yogurt- cause my sweet tooth is really rearing it's ugly head lately.  Tell Pie that we miss her, and drop in when she gets a chance.  How is her foot?

Rox- are you freezing in this weather?  DH cannot get our heater to work- so we have started using the fireplace at night.

    Kallee,  Who is Sydney?

  • Re: Friday, November 16th ... Saturday & Sunday too.

Jenni- When my psych put me on meds she found a place called Dr. Solve in Canada that had what I needed at a much reduced price. Can't hurt to ask. We used Dr. Solve until the US started producing the generic brand of it for cheaper. And I think Kallee meant Sidney. I think she just got the spelling mixed up with Sydney (my dog).

Kallee- I sent you a fb message.

I love this weather. Yvonne got our heater going yesterday-- she was so proud of herself, LOL. Peej and I walked in the door and she met us with a huge smile on her face. I was all like, "what?" and she just stood there smiling. She finally said, "Don't you notice anything?" Good thing Peej had her wits about her because she noticed... "The heater is on!" We were able to keep it at around 72-75 last night. Haven't needed it today so far.

Fred- Kallee is right- Depression really does sap you, big time. I hope you can get out and visit with your kids over the holidays. I can't remember if you said whether your kids live close or far away, but I hope you can get out to see them.

Greetings BBD Peeps. (for anybody new that means Biological Brain Disorder) It's just a silly word we sometimes use here.

Kallee, I'm sorry. The Fibro Fog has been thick lately. CFS is affecting me too. I should have figured out what you were saying about Sidney/Sydney.  Embarrassed   Do you think it would be possible for you to mail me some leaves from your tree? I'll pay for the envelope & postage. I know there are restrictions on what kind of fruit you can bring into California. Might be on outgoing things too?  If you just don't want to fool with this right now just say the word.

Fred, Where are you???  I hope you aren't taking a break from here already. There are a lot of ladies here that will help you in any way they can. We're just somewhat limited being on the Internet and all. Big Smile

I called my dad on his birthday. We talked for about 10 minutes. That's a long time with my dad. He is so hard to buy for.  I asked him if there was something he wanted that I could get for him. Nothin. LOL  He has every tool known to man and 2 Ford Model Ts one is a 1920 something and the other is a 1930 something. He's in a car club.

Leora, I hope that darn old migraine would go AWAY. I feel for you when you're having a headache. I have other friends that get them. Praying that your health improves. There is something I would like to chat about with you but I'm not sure how to broach the subject. Let me think on that one.

Roxie Baby!! I'm glad that DH tries to call you daily. He wants to make sure all of his ladies are safe.  Maybe moochy-kissy sounds too. LOL Wink

I sent about 40 - 50 Christmas cards today. The Cardstore.com  has an incredible sale that they posted on Fb about. .29 for Christmas cards and they pay the postage.I'm glad I was able to get on Fb this morning.

I want us to go through all of our paperwork, tomorrow. It's in one of several filing cabinets and on the desk, etc. I'm cutting back on the things I save. Why do I need every Rx receipt? I can ask for a print-out at the end of the year. Just stuff like that. Okay, mini-course is over.:)

Our cable company helped me figure out what is wrong with my laptop. It's not the laptop at all. It's the router.  I'll get on the horn with the company that makes it tomorrow if they are open. I think this came with a really nice guarantee.  We like our new couch. We put a big blanket over it. It's better than trying to keep Mooch off of it. LOL

I'm done yammering.  Thinking of all of you and praying for your health and happiness. Talk with you later.

I haven't eaten Twinkies or Ho Hos for years. I'm sorry that they are going to close. I know a man in KC, MO that has worked for them all his adult life. I wonder what's happening with him.

Glad I made you laugh, Rox.  I've noticed that you seem more confident with Honey being gone this trip. Your best efforts are paying off!!! Way to be Rox. Keep up the good work.

Everyone must be busy today.  Glad that we're getting a new member!!!

The game is over. The Cornhuskers won 38 - 14 over the Golden Gophers.  Bo put in the second and third string Quarterbacks. Terrific game.

    I'll probably be back later.

Jenni- I think with elder d here, and being able to talk and/or chat with him every day, and have him double checking my finance balancing, it's been a lot easier this time. I'm not so nervous when I check the finances either. I was really surprised when I went to do them and found that I still remembered all the steps and passwords to get it done but, the biggest thing is because I know he is checking up on me. Just today I had to email him and ask about a charge that I wasn't familiar with.

I finally remembered church tonight. I like to on Saturday night so that I can sleep a little longer on Sunday. Ummm... just changed my mind. I'll go in the morning; forgot that it gets dark at 5:00. ! :(   On the upside, I've already had my dinner and we can watch t.v. and a movie.

  • Re: Friday, November 16th ... Saturday & Sunday too.

sorry so late here- busy day today,

I started out grocery shopping at 8am-haircut at 930a, one more grocery stop- out to my folks for a lunch with my brother- back home to cook for catering tomorrow-  I don't have it all ready, but it's under control.

I hope Colrful and Fred stop in to say hi.

Jenni- thinking of mailing you some leave made me smile- I am happy to send them, but I bet you will be disappointed- you must not get enough leaves in Nebraska?  I have no idea what to get my dad for Christmas- he has every tool he ever needs too.  Maybe wll get him a box of frozen steaks.

Rox- you are doing a great job while your DH is gone- so funny to hear abot your DD repairing the heater- maybe she should come work on ours.

My ankle, foot pain seems to be increasing-probably because of all the standing and cooking, but it makes sleep difficult.  You know how things at night seem so much more intense than they do during the day.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend-

    howdy all-

Here is my grateful report today- I woke up without any pain in the foot that has been bothering me for weeks- and it's darn near a miricle, cause I was on my feet till 9pm last night cooking.  I took a double dose of ALleve, but that stuff never worked before- so I am delighted.

I have most everything prepared for the wedding dinner I cater later this afternoon-

    Chicken breast in Tarragon cream

Herb and garlic roasted root veggies

    Tuscan bean salad

Salad greens, veggies with strawberries and almonds

    tortilla chips with cowboy cavier

I even have a few minutes to put my feet up and grab a snack.

What's going on with all of you today?

  • Re: Friday, November 16th ... Saturday & Sunday too.

Kallee I'm so glad that the pain is gone in that foot.  Glad Aleve helped.  Your dinner menu sounds scrumptious.  I think  have a recipe for Texas Cavier. Might be the same thing...or close.

I have done nothing but sit here, watch pro football and play WWF. Bubba has been taking it easy too. He is out mulching and vacuuming the leaves in the side yard. We have plenty of leaves here Kallee. Do the leaves on the tree you were telling us about have a scent? That's what I'm looking for. If they don't it's not a big deal.

I'm making Teriyaki  Chicken, White rice and stir-fried vegetables for dinner.  I think it would be great to be sandwich night, but I did that once this weekend.

    Talk with you soon...

  • Re: Friday, November 16th ... Saturday & Sunday too.

I just got back from having lunch at Marie Callender's. My friend and I split a $10 meal so it came out cheaper that way. We went to say farewell to a really nice friend of our BOWS group (B.O.W.S.= Blessing Our World Servants). $7.50 for lunch and tip is pretty good, I'd say.

Youngest is back in bed resting. She is feeling better than she did yesterday, just tired of blowing her nose. Hopefully with a good night's sleep tonight she'll be up and going by Tuesday.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Jenni- I will sniff my leaves, bit don't think they smell like much  :)   I think Texas and Cowboy cavier are the same thing.

Rox- what did you have at Maries?  Did your older daughter find work yet?

I got all my equipment washed and stored- DH is a huge help, now it's feet up time.  Time to watch AFV a bit.

    See you in the morning
