Lily- My daughter and I went to a new optometrist and really liked them. I think you should come to California and get your eyes checked .

930pm update....had to nearly run Rox over to give her a hug today. Hooray for me!

We took the guests to the big street fair in our town- it was nearly hot- and I think I pooped them out- one snored while napping in the lazy boy (smile). Tomorrow- we go to Temecula, a cute little western town with antique shops and such- about 45 min from here. Bed sure feels good at night.

I googled it and I think it's either the bearings or the shocks. Either way, it's going to be wayy expensive to repair, and it's not worth it. That's what happened to the other one I had of this brand, only it quit entirely.

Whoa Meridith...I must be out of the loop- I thought you could still et decent washers for $500- $700....sounds like renting to own makes it about $1400......would craigslist have anything. Around here sometimes contractors have new ones left from jobs to sell.

Rox- you had a very big day- a hot one too, I bet. What movies are you renting? What did you do with the pork...have you ever tried adding a can of green enchilada sauce to it- pretty good

Leora- it's about time you get a break on the weather- have fun at the rally, do you have to go far? I just watched Larry the Cable Guy at the state fair in Iowa- he had a list of everything you could buy on a stick.....it was a long list, so funny. He also did a silly bit at the "American Gothic" house.

Lily- congrats on beating the big C- you sound like a strong person (that likes to bake). If you have the name of the reciep- I will do a search for it. I baked 60 cupcakes today for DGS school carnival- Pink Lemonade, Black and Whites, and rainbow sprinkle vanilla

Jenni- the trip was restful, but Now I am waking up here a 5am...go figure....reverse jet lag. Then when I come back home, all of a sudden I can see how dirty my windows are, stuff that needs to be picked up, dust under the couch, yada, yada, yada.

Sorry I am late everyone- the day dissappeared. one DGS came this morning while momma went to the dentist- I lost track of the day.

Rox- I bet they would let you change the name on the gym membership.- and you are right, I will brethe a BIG SIGH when all the visitors are done-

Rox and I are havin super hot temps here- which should hit you folks east of us in 2-3 days, so watch out!

My frig is pretty empty- so trying to figure out something for dinner, I am defrosting some rolls and making deviled eggs, I think I have a sausage or two.....hmmmmm?

Mom's memory seems to be slipping more and more- I really noticed it on the trip. It is stressful for dad I think. But, on the up side- she ate well, and started to get up and out of bed in the mornings.

Lily- I read the post about your DH anger, which explains some of mom's outbursts. We were having lunch at a place and she got mad that the meat was tough, and just could not let it go, and had to scold the waitress over it .....once she gets it in her mind, she cannot let it go. I am sorry you are dealing with this Mom cannot deal with menus either- too many choices, and then she does not remember what the dishes are.

Kay- I enjoy the old shows- love Andy Griffith, Golden Girls, and Bonanza (secretly I liked Hoss).

Kel- It was so funny in Quebec, no one wanted to speak english in the stores...in fact, they may not have really understood it- yet they acknowlede the British Queen. It's unusual for sure-yet in Halifax and Nova Scotia they spoke english.

Jenni- thanks for posting my updates- for some reason I have memorized your email and could send to you.

We had a really nice time last night. We didn't know that they were serving food so we ate beforehand. (I think I mentioned that younger d and Honey bbq'd chicken. It turned out okay, and d and I learned how to start the bbq.) Anyway, it worked out okay at the party because they served pizza and Honey doesn't eat pizza and I don't care for pizza with all the toppings. Honey ate salad and I ate vegies and dip and a few whole meal chips.

I checked my weight yesterday, thinking I'd lost weight. I don't know if the scale isn't working right or what, but it showed that I gained six pounds. Not encouraging. I'm hoping it's the scale... it seems to jump all over the place. my pants seem looser so I don't know what to think.

Well, we got everything finished so our house is once again insured. Just before the agent came to take a picture of the covering the mail came, and in it was a letter of insurance cancellation, along with a refund check. The agent took the check, told Honey not to worry about it, that he would take care of it... he did.

Our loquat tree is in full bloom; we've got more than we can eat. D and I go out every day and pick a big bowl full. They are sooo good.

Younger d is not going to bbq chicken tonight. She decided that she wants to take me out for Mother's Day tonight. Rubio's, here we come. Supreme Steak burrito with no guacamole, yum!

PLL- Yeah, that doesn't sound like a very good excuse; it's going to rain two days from now so we aren't going to pave it.? Um, doesn't it dry really fast?

I still can't start a new post, only reply to an existing one.

Our family watched The Tooth Fairy, starring Dwayne The Rock Johnson. It was fun and clean. Then we watched Wreck It Ralph. Boring. Last night we watched Here Comes the Boom. That was cute, just my opinion.

I'm tired (9:48pm) so I'm heading for bed. Sweet dreams All.

Weekend- Yes, we don't use hamburger buns because of the carbs... Honey because they convert to sugar, and the girls and I don't like them. I wrapped my patties in lettuce for a while but I couldn't get anyone else to do so.

Hey all///I have been chafing at the bit to get here and post- we have been so busy with the Danes visiting, but it is exhausting to have the routine so mixed up. The 8 mo old crys a lot, especially at night. The 4 year old has made friends with my DGS's but they cannot understand each other well. The 4 yr old runs around the house at night screaming, playing with a sword-and the parents just watch.

We took them to the beach today- it was supposed to be 90 degrees....it was gray and windy and about 65 instead.

We go out of town on Thurs- and I still need to do laundry and pack... my folks go with us too.

I have been running all day- Walmart, grocery store, Kohls, etc we have visitors arrive tomorrow for I don't know how long. They have a 4 yr old and an 8 mo- so I washed the high chair off, the scooter, and have to put up the playpin in their room. I got some kid friendly things for them to eat.

We leave the end of the week for 9 days- hope I will be able to get onto a computer. We are going on a cruise with my folks from Boston to Quebec. The guests will stay on at our house after we leave (I guess)-

ok- it's late, I'm ready to hit the pillow

Kelly- Nabisco and Keebler make saltine crackers...and I have a really good recipe for toffee candy made with them topped with chocolate! you would never knowthat a cracker is the base. We use the crackers a lot with our soup-especially tomato soup.

Lily- in our area where there as steep rocky areas- people will rent goats to "mow" them....maybe you can find a replacement mower at a yard sale? and that would be a good excuse for an outing. Bummer about the upcoming rain. We are supposed get rain tonight...which usually means in about 4 days it is arriving in the midwest somewhere.

Leora- I do hope the anxiety has let up by now. I just hate that feeling. Sometimes a thought triggers it- sometimes I cannot figure it out.

Meridith- I am impressed...if I had a cinnabon, I would probably eat it first and say diet next.

Rox- you are sounding petty disaplined too...gesh, I am feeling guilty.

I raked 5 barrels of leaves today- so if it rains, at least the moisture will make it to our dry soil. Calif gets so little rain- maybe 7 inches to 10 inches all year.... I put in grean bean seeds, pumpkin, and pepper seeds-so they may get a good start too. My tomatoes are 4 feet tall!

Jenni- where are you? Kay??? come out and play.

For dinner, I am making chicken breast that are marinating in OJ, lime juice and herbs- and serving over a bed of my homegrown lettuce, with avacado- and a side of orzzo pasta.....all this talk of diets has made me hungry!
