    Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you all slept well last night and feel rested...We had lots of rain over the weekend and several storms and downpours yesterday... I think we  had enough rain for awhile....The plants are growing though, but very water soaked...

Today, I want to put clean curtains up in the kitchen and living room...Hopefully I can get a lot of work done this week..Our month of July is busy with appointments, company and things...

I had a hard time getting on the Internet this morning for some dumb reason or other, but all of a sudden, the Internet came on and here I am...We bought a flash drive to back things up, which hopefully, it worked... The screen that kept coming up saying to back up our files had three options and one of the options was, more of less, to ignore the warning, click here, but not recommended... Yesterday, frustrated, I said to Ron, I feel like clicking that option for that screen to just go away... He said click it, what can happen... What happened is that the computer is working a lot better now and that darn disc screen went bye bye..LOL

Today, we have to put a "thingie" on the TV for the cable, so we can get more channels....If we don't put the "thingie" on the TV we lose a lot of channels that we watch...So when Ron comes home from the lab, he has that job ahead of him....Yesterday, I flipped over the calendar to June and saw a lab slip which was dated 5/21/12, for Ron...I gave it to him and said that he missed a lab testing... He replies, "Oh, am I supposed to go to that"?  I thought I would die laughing, but any how, this morning he has to go to the lab for his blood work for his physical on Wednesday...

Yesterday, we took the dogs for a ride.. Mom and I were talking about Boscov's and how much we want to go shopping there and the dogs heard the word "go".....So Ron and I took them for a ride...They are not the best behaved in the car, but they love going for a ride...I hold Nater, who is pretty good...We saw a sign that said chicken BBQ, but no directions to where the BBQ was...We drove all around looking at the fire hall and other places in town that are known for their BBQ's...Finally we went to the fair grounds and lo and behold there was the BBQ...We bought three dinners, Ron giving everyone he saw heck because of the lack of signs, looked at the crafts and came home...It was a long boring day yesterday, so hopefully, our rain will end and the sun will shine again....

Everyone take care and enjoy your Monday...

    Morning All!

We had a beautiful weekend here. Was supposed to rain off & on but never did here. Temps were perfect & humidity was low. Awesome! Big Smile Today is to be up to 79 but no rain!

Took today off but will be busy. Expecting to pick my car up around noon then fly the opposite direction to be at the foot doctor by 2:30! Going to be tight for sure. Have a boneless pork loin (in foil) in the crock pot with fresh sweet potatoes (also in foil) for supper. Will throw together a fruit salad when I get home from the doctor. There will be enough pork left for tomorrow night to fix pork/black bean burritos. Low fat & great way to use leftovers.

Did want to ask for prayers for a friend of mine's parents. Their house, which has been in the family for almost 100 years, was destroyed by fire last night. Beautiful old farmhouse, kept in good repair. Neighbors said they heard an explosion & most are at least 1/4 mile a way! At least they & their dogs got out ok.  Sad

Better get off of here. Need to get dressed, put laundry away & straighten the house before I have to leave. Have a wonderful day!

    God Bless,

    Susan

Mary – I wish we would have gotten some of the rain.  I did see on the news the bad storms and tornados that were hitting a lot of the east coast.  I'm glad the computer seems to be working better now.  I'm glad you got the flash drive.  BBQ sounds good.  It sounds like you did enjoy your ride yesterday.  I will check out Gabby singing.

Susan – I hope you get good news at the doctor today and your car is good as new.  Prayers to your friend's parents.  How sad.  I'm glad everybody got out safely.

We have a cloudy day here.  They say there is rain on the west side of my county.  I hope it makes it here.

It's Monday .... and I think my mind is getting back in focus.  I was so sleepy when I went to bed last night I wasn't focused on anything.  LOL

This morning, I'm getting ready to make some coffee and I thought ... it's somebody's birthday today.  I just "know" it ... so I checked my calendar and sure enough.  Smile

Let's get the tune ladies and honor Preci (Salsarose) on her special day ...

    Happy Birthday to you
    Happy Birthday to you
    Happy Birthday dear Preci
    Happy Birthday to you!!!!

Since you live on the other side of the globe and are way ahead of us in time zones, you're probably enjoying birthday supper or party as I type this.  I know that you don't post here other, but you're always checking in.

We wish you a very special year ahead ... I consider it a special one as I realized you and I are enjoying the last year before we'll have to change over to a new decade.  I remember when everyone claimed that 40 was over the hill .... and now that seems like so "young" doesn't it.

May the year ahead be filled with lots of choices for you - choices that allow you to achieve some things on that Bucket List we all have ... choices that will allow you to life your life to the fullest - with love and laughter, fun and family.

We wish you a very special birthday.  We lift our glasses Drinks in a toast to the Birthday Gal!

Just know the DCers love you and appreciate you - and all your efforts on the entire TOH boards.

    Hi, everyone.

Resting up from a busy weekend. The picnic on Sat. was fun. Lots of food, fun and fellowship. And, Sunday at the Bethesda Home was a good experience.

MARY, I think poor advertising for things like the BBQ happen all over. Especially when you're not familiar with the area. Glad you found the tasty dinners. When we're up north, we look for those church dinners.

SUSAN, a good day for you. A working vehicle and hopefully good news from the doctor. Prayers for that family. Glad all were safe.

JOYCE, no rain here. Really nice temps, too. I usually spend early morning watering the plants around the house----they're under the eaves and don't always benefit from the rain. Will you be picking up the travelers on the weekend?

HAUKE, glad the party went well. And, now you can take a deep breath and sit back and chill.

We're going out for an early dinner as Russell has a Gun Club meeting, tonight.

    Hugs and prayers for all.

    Nancy Z. Big Smile

I will be sure to go listen to Gabi's music, Mary, this laptop has no speakers.

We have loads of rain pouring, and some thunder, so I'll close down now.

    Take care, folks.

Happy Birthday, Preci!  Hope you have a wonderful day of celebration!  You will definitely have to let hauke and I know how it feels to enter the next decade-I'm right behind her on that!!!!

hauke, so glad you finally have some down time!  Also glad to hear that the party was a smashing success.  I'm sure your mom really appreciates all the time you put into planning it.

Mary, sounds like you had a great ride and dinner.  Those BBQ's are always pretty tasty.  We got a little rain on Thursday, and started to green up, but still alot of brown grass around.  The forecast isn't calling for any rain for the whole week.

Joyce, I hope you get the rain.  I won't see the race traffic for 2 more weeks.  Hoping that we get some business from it at work, but several years ago they re-routed the race traffic, so we don't see much of it.

Doris, I hope the storms don't start any wildfires.  We had/have a huge one in the Upper Peninsula for the past couple of weeks.  Evidently has destroyed acres and acres of wilderness along with a whole slew of homes and cabins.

Susan, well, you should be finding out the news about your foot right about now.  Hope it is good.  Also hope that the car is running like a top.

Work was busy all weekend, so I am pooped!LOL  Due to a field day at the school, there was no morning swim, so I will be headed out shortly for the late afternoon one.  I haven't been in almost a month and I MUST get back in the groove.

Danny and I just got back from a trip to Sams Club.  I needed to pick up a prescription, and we needed some groceries from there.  We ended up buying a fresh made Cobb Salad(for me and it's enough for 3 meals) BBQ ribs off the bone and Chicken Parm-which looks yummy.  Think we'll have that one for dinner since I won't be home from swim until close to 7pm.  Tomorrow will be running my SIL around on her errands, and if the other SIL is still in the hospital, we'll stop by to see her.  They had her up and walking last night and started her on solid food today, so there is a chance she can go home in the next day or two.  Danny and I went up to see her on Sat, and she was still pretty loopy from all the drugs.

    Take care all.

Deb ... I think you misunderstood me.  Preci, you and I were all born about 6 weeks apart ... so we'll be entering the next decade next year.  But I'm very aware that this is my (our) last year of this decade!

I had realized that in January and that's when I decided I was going to life this coming year ... year 59 ... with more passion that I have any other!  Considering all I have done already in 2012 - I'm ready for year 59!  I'm actually excited about it as I have chosen to not let certain events or certain people distract me from what I want to do and be.

I was a little "tickled pink" when Peaches called me this morning to congratulate me on a wonderful day Saturday.  She could tell I was not indimitated by "family politics" and that was just there so have a good time, to make sure most everyone else had a good time ... that my mom was honored ... and that those who wanted to crumble and complain - well - I just didn't let them get to me.

I've thought about that ... and she's so right.  When my dad turned 80 4 years ago and we had the big party, I was a nervous wreck because I was so busy try to please everyone (referring mostly to my kids and a few aunts and uncles).  This time, I wasn't afraid to get behind the mic and just have a great time.  So what if Rebecca and Tim weren't happy with it.  It's their loss, no mine.  I loved visiting with the folks and I was glad that I had arranged for some ladies from my church to come deal with the kitchen.  I wasn't worried about them... I knew they were there because they were my friends and wanted to help.  And that allowed me to focus on the guests ... and my mom and dad.  The important people at the party.

Oh ... and everyone, for the most part, LOVED Elvis.   I got such a kick out of watching the senior ladies light up as he went from table to table and "wooed" them ... kissed their hands ... or got them up to dance with him.  Even the pastors in the group where singing along to Heartbreak Hotel and such.  Yes ... Elvis was a hit!!    Mom had invited my ex ... and he was having a blast.  He stayed after to help with tear down and clean up.... so did Rebecca.  Although she had complained all afternoon about how I had planned things .. in the end, she helped pack up and clear up - and she had a smile on her face!

So ... gals ... we might be edging closer to that new decade ... but let's live this final year of our 50's with more passion then ever!  I am looking forward to an exciting year!

Well, I'm off to fill my coffee cup and get back to work.  With my computer crash last week ... and then the party, I'm a bit behind in getting month end things finished.

Good evening all. Beautiful day here after having storms last night and last Friday nite, we need the rain so I won't complain. Yard sales were not much this Sat. did buy a couple things, one in particular was a very large wooden crab, he is about 3ft tall and heavy, the girl said she had purchased it a few years ago and paid over $200.00 for it, I bought for $15.00, so I hope to make a nice sum being crabs are so popular here. We went to the slots Sat. afternoon with a friend and we all had a great time, stopped off at a local fire co for bbq chicken, it's the best in the state and they sure do line up for it. Made a little money, nothing to write home about. Been working in the yard/garden alot in the past few days, sure looks nice if I say so, now if we just had good grass, I have tried so many time to reseed and it just dies. We need to have a pro do it but they want a fortune and Eugene does not seem to be to interested since we don't have irrigation, but the front is all about brown and just weeds.....so I am trying again with fertilizer and seed and watering well...we will see. Mary, glad you enjoyed your ride and bbq and that the computer is working better, it is boring when the clouds show up will check out your granddaughter...well better start dinner, spaghetti tonight....take care all, will catch up with others later,,,hi to all...Peggy

    Evening All!

Wanted to check in tonight as I doubt I will have much time the rest of the week. Tongue Tied If only the lottery God liked me!

Got the car picked up & saw the pictures of the old transmission while there. Amazing! New transmission will take a little time to break from what I was told. On take off it's hesitating a bit but supposedly that's normal.

Doctor went well. I only wear the boot part time now, wearing a shoe the rest of the time. Not allowed to wear heels or do an extensive amount of walking without the boot until most of the soreness is gone. The scooter, thank goodness, goes back tomorrow! Big Smile

Well, getting off of here. America's Got Talent is on tonight so don't want to miss it. Totally entertains me the stupid things people do thinking their good!

Have a great evening & week!

    God Bless,

    Susan
