Wow .. I can't believe it's been a few days since I've really had time to stop and say HI!

The last week of any month is always crazy busy and this month it's busier then normal.  I've signed up for a weight challenge that starts tomorrow - a local group and weekly meetings.  Another thing on the agenda, but maybe it will help me.

Mom is doing OK .. she says her hand isn't hurting as much as before but she's so tired and just seems to sleep a lot.  I reminded her that's her normal "after surgery" behavior - not from the surgery itself, but she always has a really bad reaction to the anesthesia.  She's not as nauseated as usual, but then they did mostly a local anesthesia with just a bit of "putting her under.

We have a funeral in the morning.  The mother of my dad's best friend passed away - and considering that dad and his friend are both in their 80's, I'm figuring the mom has to be over a 100 ... or she was a very young mom.  LOL  I'm going to - not that I remember the lady although I met her when I was really really young ... but I'm going out of respect to dad and his friend.  He's always been there for dad, so it's appropriate to go and let him know I care about him.

Well, it's way past 1 am here and I need to get to bed if I'm going to be of any use tomorrow.

    Have a great Tuesday everyone!

    Good Morning Everyone,

Good Tuesday Morning To You ALL!!! Hope everyone slept well last night and feels rested today....I slept okay, not great, just okay...LOL I am sorta stuffed up from the change in weather....

Welcome Home Nancy!!! Guess you won't be home too long.. I hope Cathy is doing okay and nice that you will get to see her for a few days to  help out.... My deepest sympathy to you and your family in the loss of your Aunt...

Hauke, good for you for joining a Weight Loss Challenge...The extra support from others, might really help you... I stopped WW as it just wasn't doing much for me and I tried not to go over the allowed points....I think I like just counting calories a lot better...I went through a whole big note book of writing down what I eat and now am on the second book....Writing down what I eat, really helped me and keeps me more on track...Glad to hear your Mom is doing okay too, after her surgery.. I always think, while you sleep, you heal, so your Mom's naps might really be needed...

Not sure what is happening for today...Trying to keep caught up with things and will probably do some bed wash and other cleaning today... Not really in the cleaning mood though, but things need done... I need to sit and make a list for the store too and do a good grocery shopping instead of just buying this and that at a clip...

Everyone take care everyone and enjoy your day.....

Good morning all. Beautiful day here so far, nice and cool, but that won't last as the temp are back up tomorrow and rest of the week. Glad you are home Nancy and happy that Cathy is doing well. Hauke, hope your mom is doing well with her hand. Mary have fun grocery shopping, one chore I really like to do. My dinner on Sunday went very well, I cooked 48 pcs of fried chicken and only ad 6 pcs left that night, they all act like they never ate a dinner before, all brought a side dish so that helped me out alot, it was fun and now my big dinners are over for awhile. Like Mary I have linens to wash today, hope all have a great day.  Peggy

Hello Friends.  Mary, we did sleep better last night, and the cold nights sure helped out, it was 37 degrees yesterday AM when we left for Sacramento for dh's blood tests.   Had to wear a sweater, socks, shoes, etc.

hauke, glad your mother is on the mend, my dh also has been sleeping alot, after the stress of having surgery, and, let's face it, we are no "spring chicks" anymore so stuff takes it's toll on us.    Hope the weight loss challenge helps you out, and you can compare recipes and menus with other people, and maybe start a walking group, even indoors so it's easier to keep up with in your nasty weather.

Nancy, wishing your Cathy a good recouperation.

I'm not in a cleaning mood, just glad to be home all day, those trips down to Sacto take up most of a day, and we go again on Friday.   Did do a good Wal Mart run though, just can't beat those prices.

dh's eye is still swollen, but he seems better in mood, otherwise.   His eye looks like I punched him or something.

Need to cut up strawberries for our nightly snack time, and I bought those Sweet Freedon frozen dairy product bars on a stick for snack time, for myself.   Yes, the calorie counting can never stop, but I'm thinking I'll work hard at it until age 70, lol, and then forget it!!   But the bike time, has to continue.    Overeating is an addiction, no cure, just have to try to control it, and "the beat goes on".

    Wishing everyone a good day!!!

Nancy – I'm sure the trips wore you out.  I'm glad to hear Cathy is feeling better and I'm sure she will very glad to have you there.  Yes, Maycee was a big help picking out the bird feeder.  She would point to each one and say "how about that one?"  LOL.

Hauke – Good luck with the weight challenge.  We are here for any help you need, even us cheering you on.  I'm glad your mother's hand is better, but sorry that she's having trouble with the anesthesia.  I think it affects a lot of people that way.  That's very nice of you to go to the funeral.  I'm sure your dad and the family will appreciate it.

Mary – I loved your pictures on FB.  Gabbie is getting so big.  The new appliances look so nice.

Peggy – I'm glad your family dinner went well.  That is a lot of chicken.  I'm sure it was delicious.  I was thinking of you this morning.  Have you ever been to the seafood festival at Sandy Point State Park in Maryland?  It's at the west end of the Bay Bridge.  Since it is close to Annapolis, they have drill teams, color guard, helicopter, etc. from the Naval Academy.  There is music and of course lots of good seafood.  I'm sure it is kind of far for you to go, but I know how much you travel, so I thought maybe you had gone.  I'm not sure why I thought of that this morning.  If I have asked you this before, my apologies for repeating.

I did get the grass (or should I say weeds) mowed this morning.  I had planned on doing but before that I was talking to my neighbor.  She was water her grass. I told her I was done doing it.  She said this weekend is her parents' 60th wedding anniversary so they are having a party at her house so she wanted the grass to look decent.  So I was glad I was going to mow.  She's very particular about the lawns in the neighborhood.
The next few nights at work are going to be pretty bad.  We were told that we have 50-80 forms to do and they all have to be done by Thursday.  They wanted somebody to work during the day and sit with the secretary.  I told my boss I would come in early, but I wouldn't sit next to the secretary.  But they didn't want that.  I don't know how we are going to get them all done, but we always seem to meet our deadlines.

Getting here kind of late.  Been that kind of day off.

Danny has been craving a malted, so we headed to Steak N Shake for lunch.  Haven't eaten there in at least 7 years and the food was still good.  Since I opened that restaurant, it was strange going back.  Didn't  miss it. although, I did miss the food.  Must admit tho, that when they diagnosed me diabetic, it was at the end of my time there.  Gee do you  think there is a connection????LOL

After lunch, we did a small grocery shopping then I took a nap while Danny made vegetable soup for dinner.   After our high fat/calorie lunch, veggie soup sounded wonderful.  About 8pm, I headed out to mow the buck horn down.  Sure wasn't much grass, but the weeds were high.  Looks much better out there now.

Yesterday after my mgr meeting, I did a few errands and then went to the late afternoon swim session.  Dinner was chicken subs and I spent the evening relaxing.

Looks like I will be adding a shift on Tuesdays for a few weeks until the waitress on maternity leave returns.  They had her shift covered, but we decided at the meeting to fire one of the newer employees.  I can sure use the extra $$.

hauke, sympathy to your dads friend on the loss of his parent.  Altho, what a wonderful long life.  I hope that joining the challenge helps you.  You have been trying so hard to get your weight down.  I hope you mom is starting to feel more alert.  But, it s one of the lasting effects from surgery.

Mary, those pictures on FB of the bake/lemonade sale were wonderful.  I think it is wonderful that your mom was up to going.  I don't think I do Wal Mart once a year.  I really dislike our store.  We have a meijer that is a chain that started in Mi and they have good produce and meat.

Peggy, that's alot of chicken to fry!!  Glad it went over so well.

Joyce, how nice of Maycee to help you pick out the feeder.  Hope that work isn't as crazy as you fear!

Nancy, glad to hear that Cathy is doing better.  Playing catch up with laundry and household chores is never fun..

Doris, I like your thinking about strict eating until you are 70!!  I have a feeling that you will be good with your eating until the end!!LOL  glad that your dh is feeling better.

    Have a good night all.
