    Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you all had a good nights rest and that you enjoy a wonderful Friday....TGIF to all of you...I can not believe how fast the weeks are marching by and that next week, we celebrate the 4th of July.....

The Market was better last night with a few more veggies to enjoy... I bought beets, with nice green tops to cook, peas, tomato's, onions, broccoli and one vendor had little strawberry rhubarb pies and apple pies that were made in little dishes.... I had to have my strawberry rhubarb fix as I didn't have rhubarb this year yet.... Supper was good with grilled chicken, peas, beets and baked potato.... I managed to eat my pie as I have been craving stawberry rhubarb for months now...LOL  All I ate yesterday, I didn't go over my 1200 calories allotment...My shake in the morning is about 110 calories, so that really saves on the calories for the rest of the day.....I also bought some really nice lettuce, that I am looking forward to having in a salad....I made the peas with some fresh green onions and boy, were they tasty....I am going to make myself the beet greens, probably for lunch.. Ron loves beet greens, so I have to eat them some time when he is not looking....LOL  He can not have them because of being on coumadin....I can hardly wait for green or yellow beans to come in season... No zucchini here yet... I am waiting for that too....I love this time of year with all the fresh produce available to us and I enjoy cooking a heck of a lot more too, now...

I am thinking of going to the store today and doing some shopping...I want to go to Save A Lot and look at the meat and then to Giant Eagle and the bank....I have some recipes I want to try and better get a list made or I will forget half the stuff I am going for....LOL

We got almost to 90 yesterday, but not quite... It was muggy.  Last night we had a thunderstorm and a good rain, so the plants are watered good....Ron wants to mow today to keep ahead of things and I can not believe how fast the grass grows..Wish it would slow down.....

Everyone take care and enjoy your Friday....

    Hugs and Prayers to ALL,

    Mary

Nancy – Enjoy your last day (or so) with the family.  How is Cathy feeling?

Doris – Your cooler temps sound wonderful to me right now.  We did get to 104 yesterday, but thankfully it wasn't as humid as it could have been.  For work, I am a word processor in a law firm.  We do the documents that the secretaries don't have time to get to.  But this project is making documents fillable so they can be put on a web site.  If weren't for the project, we wouldn't be very busy this week which is a nice change from what it's been lately.  I love fresh green beans.  Our gas prices hav really dropped lately.  Right now, most stations have it at $3.15 a gallon.

Hauke – Enjoy your long weekend.  I hope the weather cooperates.  If I remember right, you didn't have good weather for the long weekend earlier this year.

Mary – You got lots of good fresh produce last night.  It makes it so much easier to eat healthy when you have access to fresh things.  Since we haven't had much rain, our grass is dormant.  I mark on a calendar whenever I mow.  I mowed Tuesday and that was the first time in almost a month!

The project did come in last night.  There are only 37 documents rather than the 50-80.  But they wanted them all done last night.  I worked over 2.5 hours.  There were still documents, but I left any way.  I was so wound up when I got home that it was after 3:00 when I finally went to sleep.
Four out of the next 5 days we are to hit 100.  The city has already said they are cancelling the fireworks for the Fourth, due to the high temps and the drought.

    Good afternoon.

Thanks for the zippy TGIF, hauke.  Hope you have something fun planned for your holiday weekend.  Not sure if the states are really having a holiday weekend with the 4th falling on a Wed.  I know there are fireworks scheduled for Tuesday night, but am thinking they may be cancelled if we don't get some rain.  Seems like any rain coming near us, is not coming to us.

Mary, you did get some good produce last night.  One of my customers brought me in some zucchini on Sun, but I haven't used it yet.  I want to steam it with some onions and mushrooms, so maybe on Monday.  Your dinner sounds very good-especially the pie.  You know, your 1200 calorie meal plan is kind of low.  You should be losing the weight quickly on that few calories.  If you are not moving the scales, try pushing up the calories to 1800 for a week, and then go back to the 1200.  Sometimes, our metabolism needs a jump start to get us out of starvation mode(which is what a 1200 cal does to our body) and back into burning mode. Just a thought for you.

Joyce,  I am so glad the documents weren't as many as you thought.  But staying over 2.5 hours is alot in this heat.  Even working in a/c doesnt' help when it's so hot outside.  Sorry they cancelled your fireworks.  Like I wrote, I think they might cancel ours and all the small towns also that normally have them.

Got up this morning and took my SIL to her mammo appt.  It is her follow-up to the biopsy this past winter, and we go to the surgeon next Fri for the results.  She also has a routine Dr appt in a couple of weeks, and she is started the cataract surgery with a class later in July.  Lots of running for me, and some of it interferes with my swim, but we still won't let her drive.

Danny is running his BIL around today.  They still don't have their vehicle running, so Danny drew the short straw!!!LOL  His back is better, kind of.  He has finally started doing some things, but then his back gets tired and starts hurting again, so he has to take it easy again.  Since it is a mucsle ache and not the spine, we figure it is just going to take time to heal.  It doesn't help that with his neuropothy,  he stumbles fairly often, and I'm sure that doesn't help.

We didn't reach 100 yesterday, officially, but alot of people saw it on their thermometers.  Sure was hot.  We didn't have any business and we didn't really care.  I spent some time out in the garage as the mechanic had a tire blow up on him.  He is OK, but he might have a broken hand.  I am here to tell you that the garage at work is a hot box!  I was so glad to get back inside each time I was able to.  Fortunately, the driver wasn't hurt and the other driver standing nearby, refused medical treatment and all I saw was a cut on his throat.  Sure could have been alot worse.

We are only to be in the mid 90's today, but the heat does stay with us for a while.  Oh well, thank goodness for air conditioning.

    Later all.

    Deb

    Hi, everyone.

We're home. A little busy on the highway as the IL vacationers were headed to WI, too. We left when Cathy was ready for an app't. with her surgeon. We had a great time with the kids.

MARY, hopefully Russell and I will check out the Farmer's Market tomorrow morning. Don't know if I'll find good things like you did. I would love some beets and beet greens.

JOYCE, that was a long time for your overtime. All that extra work sure had your mind working overtime, too. Glad you did get some rest. Cathy is doing well, but still no driving for another week. And, no big incisions anymore, just several very small holes here and there. Amazing what they do these days.

DEB, same thing around here, no fireworks in some places due to everything being so dry. Milwaukee will have their display because the fireworks are done over Lake Michigan from barges. Hoping Danny's back gets better and better.

DORIS, both my DGC are soccer players. Robin doesn't play at college, tho'. Bradley as a HS freshman was on the Varsity team. So----we watched the soccer games all weekend. Now, Russell and I will watch here on Sunday, too.

HAUKE, enjoy your Canada Day weekend.

It was over 100 when we were in IL and we are having high 90's here. A/C is going full speed ahead.

    Hugs and prayers for all.

    Nancy Z. Big Smile
